They were Mt. Airy last year and played at Mt. Airy HS. Stokes senior team combined with them and moved it to East Surry. Their Junior team plays at Mt. Airy HS and Stokes has a Junior team that plays at W. Stokes HS.

Sandy Ridge is a new team, playing at N. Stokes HS.

. Isaiah Black led the team with 4 hits and Joe Javier added 2 hits and 4 RBI’s. Towelers move to 8-2 on the season and are riding a 4 game win streak right now!!!

ER ran it's record to 8-6 last night by beating Sandy Ridge 28-4. And no I didn't mistype.

According to Sportstone, Post 81 hit four home runs. Brody Gardner hit two of them and had eight rbi's. ER had 22 hits total. Geez fellas......save some of this for down the road.

I do have two questions though. First question is........was this game played at Orange/Blue's home field? Also.....is there any way ER can just play Sandy Ridge for the remainder of the season?

Kannapolis returns to Legion action with 13-2 win vs. Mocksville. Joe Javier was the winning pitcher, hit a home run, sold some popcorn between innings. Jack Brandle homer and 4 RBIs. Ty Hubbard on the squad now, walked three times, scored 2.

One thing I noticed about above standings is the difference in conference games played. Some teams going to be playing every night to get season completed.

Post 45 split today. Early in the day, they beat Cleveland County 5-1. Later on, they lost to Morgantown, WV 3-2.

With two outs in the top of the seventh, Post 45 led 2-1. The WV pitcher came up to bat and smacked a homer just inside the left foul pole to tie the game. T'was pretty cool.

Stanly won 11-6 against Kannapolis on Saturday night, handing Kannapolis (13-3, 4-1) its first loss in the Southern Division of Area III. Conner Welker hit a grand slam for Kannapolis. Charlie Carpenter, Solomon Eudy, Connor Lindsey and Cole Pinion had 2 RBIs each for Stanly.

Sounds like Kannapolis is good this year. I wondered if anyone from the South Rowan state champs might play for them, or if any of the China Grove area is in the Kannapolis legion zone. That's got to be close with them and Salisbury.
