SD-7 Championship Showdown... West Caldwell @ Lincolnton (Who ya wit?)

I'm on the fence to which game I will attend. Mooresville, Ltown, or Burns/Crest. Mooresville has a bigger game coming with the second installment of a Ladowski at Lake Norman. Crest plays Shelby the last week of the season. Maybe this is the one with more impact this week.

I didn't know Lincolnton served City Lunch hotdogs at the game. That may put it over the top. Might even bring my 79 year old mother's boyfriend who resides in Lincolnton. He lives down the street from the school and loves his Wolves.

Missed most of this thread, but I am sure there is some good stuff throughout, good luck to both teams, both are impressive. Lincolnton is a good football team without a doubt, West Caldwell is a good football team as well. And I will be honest if Tucker plays the whole game against EL, it is a no contest. The kid is impressive and was covering Dollar, but I will say this the OL for West Caldwell was even more impressive, big and mean, #54 is the best OL I have seen this year, and when he lined up at DL, he was the best DL I have seen all year, kid is a stud, #23 was all over the field as well. For Lincolnton, their defense is good enough, not near what it has been in the past but when you avg 50 pts a game what does it matter, and they have just an absolutely explosive offense that early spread the ball around, seems as though their identity is Littlejohn and Surratt at this point, I think WC disrupts that and Tucker plays, whomever pays to get in this one will get their money worth. Good luck to both teams
You mentioned #54 as the best you've seen? That beast is only a sophomore!

Will this game be aired over the internet via stream? Hell I may make the trip down from Eastern Wilkes County to watch this one.

Kicks 103.3 FM will be broadcasting the game. They have a decent coverage area so you ought to be able to pick them up.

No doubt Lincolnton has a potent offense. As improved as the WC defense may be, they will need to be healthy and well prepared for this challenge. Creating some early turnovers like they did against EL will be very important for the Warriors. I would expect WC to employ a more conservative offensive gameplan to try and keep the Lincolnton offense off the field. We clearly won the battle in the trenches last week and bludgeoned the Mustangs. It will be interesting to see if we bring the same physicality to Lincolnton and if we do - are they able to match it. Not having seen Lincolnton play I have this perception that they are more of finesse team and with their athletes that can be enough. IMO this game comes down to turnovers and penalties. The team that plays the cleaner game wins.

Wolfbanker don't cheer when you hear a howl Friday night.

Yeah dont let my screen name confuse anyone - I am WC all the way and NC State Wolfpack is my college team!

Worth mentioning a couple of Lincolnton products with connections to the Wolfpack. Darian Roseboro is starting at DE as a Soph and looks poised to have great college career. Also, CJ Wilson had a great career with the Pack and made it to the league before an accident with some fireworks cut his pro career short.

Finally, a WC fan that can provide some insight with no bravado. I agree with your assessment. Although, I will say L-town can be physical. McClain (L-town's RB) can run through or around you. Sometimes he has a propensity to get a little loose with ball. But I think he'll be coached up and ready. Should be a good one!!!

Illuminati704, KTC Broadcasting said they would carry this game by video. When you go to KTC Broadcasting click WLON and navigate from there.

Why are you even here idiot, nothing says Hibriten on this thread! Go crawl back in your hole troll

same reason you are Tardheel, it is a message board and WC is Hibriten's rival and I hope yall fail at everything you do.......why? Not b/c it is personal, but b/c that is what makes a rivalry fun.....you talk junk. Wartards are so sensitive!

Lincolnton, not with the way they came out to play, those turnovers were forced not EL mistakes, kid closed and jumped a pass, and one guy holding up the RB the other stripped it. That is athletic instinct and being well coached, their DB coach is a former EL coach and App State player, he is good. it was 28-0 when Tucker got hurt, no doubt everyone was proud of the way the Mustangs clawed back into the game but not sure that would be the case if Tucker does not have to leave the game, with 10 seconds left in the half score was 28-25, EL called off sides on FG attempt, gave WC first and goal, they went for the TD and got it, that was the play of the game. With Tucker back there at QB and safety they are very good. I still believe Lincolnton wins this game no doubt, but they will have to be better in the trenches then what they have been, or an upset could happen, WC OL/DL are legit, the two DE's are athletic. Good luck to both teams, no matter the outcome, I think both teams have a lot to look forward to when the playoffs come.

4 if you count the Early College :D
That's funny and mean. Fifth with four schools, good grief. Actually Patterson one of best basketball schools in the nation is there isn't it? Patterson had six D1 signees in one year that I remember. Even the subs got D1 scholorships.

Could someone tell me how the WC secondary held up against East i never seen the final stats i do know when Lincolton played East they were 3 for 12 with 2 Int's and 30 yards total passing

That place has been closed for a few years now.....the school systems actually operates a science academy out of it....or something like that.

Wow. Did the economy kill it off? Not enough Biffs left with troubled past? One of my the best high school teams I have seen at a venue at App State.

truthfully I think the coach of that team was a shady cat and was moving them from place to place......Patterson eventually closed b/c of the economy....but that bball team was not really apart of Patterson the school.

What's being sensitive about admitting you're an idiot. Most Panther fans would agree that you're an insult to their fanbase. You didn't see me rattle your cage over a 2 Loss Watauga coming within a missed extra point of beating you in your own house. No, because i support Caldwell County even when WC isn't involved. I think a lot of people on here would agree that you are a troll and a idiot. Have a nice day!

EL was 16 for 36 with 3 ints and 359 yrds.

Roughly 50 yrds came on a Cameron Dollar HB pass and they had another long completion on a crappy broken play where our coverage broke down. I thought it was a respectable performance, especially with Tucker out a substantial portion of the game. The coaches had to make significant defensive adjustments on the fly after his injury because the game plan had 13 on the same half of the field as Dollar..

Hmmmmm.......so its safe to assume that Tucker will shade towards #14 and #23(don't know his name) for WC will shade towards #82....which leaves the 2 outside backers to shade on #5 and #2.....this is a mere assumption based off what I've seen on film lineups.....

Everybody has their take on the game. Honestly I see Lincolnton as about a 10 to 14 favorite here playing at home. If I were gambling here I'd take the points here. This will be a tight game. I saw East Lincoln as about as much a favorite last Friday but WC made the plays and we're able to hold on with their star on the sideline. I admit Lincolnton is the favored by all accounts to win this game but I also feel WC has the tools to bring the Wolves down. Here's to a hard fought well played game Friday night. When all is said and done either side accept the better team wins and keep excuses bottled up. The team that makes plays and avoids mistakes will the be the 2016 Southern District 7 Football Champions! Good Luck to the Wolves and Warrior's!

In all actuality, Maiden isn't out of it yet. If Lincolnton wins ,Maiden still has a shot at forcing a 3 way tie . It's only clinched if the Warrior's win

Wow if the warriors thought the wolves were sleeping on on them , with all the bold talk on these boards have really excited the guys
This wolves team is a different animal
They are Hungry pack of wolves. Ready for competition
West Caldwell is a good team , but to beat the wolves they the wolves to overlook them. Players talking fans talking this is awesome for the wolves the fed off these moments.
Playoffs starts this week for the wolves ahhooooooool .

Some points from a (mostly) unbiased view. EL got behind the 8 ball early and never recovered from early turnovers. WC has excellent line play and good backs. Tucker looked pretty good but didn't play much. WC came to play. EL looked dead in the first quarter, no emotion at all. Tuckers injury saved them from a drubbing which they would have deserved with the way they played the opening quarter. Those two teams could meet again in the playoffs. I'd favor WC by 7.

Now, as for this weeks game. Matchups make games. I don't think WC is as dominate as they looked last week. If they come with the same fire they had against East they will win. The question is, can they? I'm picking Lincolnton to win close as long as they don't have 3 or 4 fumbles in the first quarter.

Oh and one more point. West Caldwell isn't a bad team with one great player. They have a great player surrounded by some very good ones. They are for real.

Maiden has a shot of forcing a 3 way tie only If they beat EL this week. I would be surprised if that happens. Maiden has some offensive weapons but their defense is not very good.

If Lincolnton beats West Caldwell then a Maiden victory over Lincolnton would force a 3-way tie. If WEST Caldwell beats Lincolnton then Maiden would have to beat Lincolnton and West would have to lose to Bunker Hill. With that scenario West would still own the tie virtue of beating both

***BREAKING NEWS JUST IN***
There's a pretty big football game being played in Lincolnton on Friday night.... For what may be a conference championship in the SD-7....pass it on!!!!

West Caldwell looked suspect to me after the 39-7 defeat to Hibriten , and the Newton game being so close was an eye brow raiser. However, West will be the best team Lincolnton has faced. If Lincolnton rolls it will send a message not only to 2a but my Golden Lions as well.

Hmmmmmm....#23 who is Brooks is listed as 5-7, 140. It suites me if he is shading towards #82 (6-3, 180 with speed).

According to the arrogant woofie fans, God himself can't cover the mighty woofie receivers. What a game, West Caldwell's little Warrior's vs unbeatable, unguardable and the walk on water Lincolnton Woofies!

A few more Lincolnton stats....stats don't tell the whole story but they do tell part of the story. The story of Lincolnton's offense is that it is pretty balanced - 216 ypg passing, 25 TDs; 243 ypg rushing, 30 TDs. RB McClain is averaging 148 ypg rushing, 11.4 yds per attempt, 18 TDs. It's a very diversified offense that has punted only 6 times this season. They have turned the ball over only 10 times this season.

Defensively: Someone stated that it is not a big play defense. However the stats show that they have intercepted 11 passes (returned 2 for TDs), recovered 13 fumbles (returned 3 for TDs), and blocked 1 punt which was returned for a TD.
