According to his twitter July 1st....and a D2 school...hmmm i guess what i was told before was baloney....usually that was a good source
Curious with our impending relationship with BSN-Nike will Clinton fans have access to the team store like i seen with some other schools....fans,parents,etc able to go online purchase team related gear shirts,hats,bags,hoodies etc and the money goes back into the athletic program......just curious i know i seen some other schools with that option...probably a question better suited for booster club member
That's a good question!! I live right around the corner from Panther Creek High, and I've bought plenty of spirit gear online or from their store at their home football games. They're contracted with Nike also and they usually have signs posted that the money goes back to the athletic department.
Yeah i was just curious i have brought customize Clinton gear from a online site before but was just wondering if they were going to have something with Nike i saw some other schools have it available online store.... i believe Wallace has something with Adidas or something i remember seeing their online store via a link....fans could buy shirts bags,hats etc

Sound system update. Brand new system already installed. Set in end zone over near horse statue, heard it’s freaking loud and awesome!

I always use to want to hear the horse noise when we score....think it would be pretty cool
When Jimmy Boone use to work PA back in the 1990’s I remember after a big win over a rival in DarkHorse Stadium it was a huge crowd with the game over the DarkHorses having won he played “Happy Trails to You” by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans over the PA. Pretty cool
Oh that would be very cool!!!!! The stampede sound is a great idea as well!!! Many of the announcers at the various stadiums I've visited play music and other things during breaks in action.
I love our high school band and I can remember at one time during the Ed Taylor era we had a enormous size band that in my opinion was very intimidating to visitors.I mean they have a 120-140 man band, huge for a small 2A high school . I heard it said during that era that the band was worth 7 points! Anyway I’ve noticed over the years at a lot of schools they’ e to a club like atmosphere with pop/rock music over the sound systems. I reckon it’s a contemporary vs traditional atnosphere

Wiz I know it was just a guess but when I was under John Lowe, we had over 100 winds. Not including drum line, color guard, pit. We were 160+ every year from 200-2004. I know clinton had to be Atleast that big under Mr. Taylor. Our band when I was in it rarely got warned by the officials for playing when other team was on Offense but we should have. We were freaking loud. That 2001 and 2002 season we rocked.
I’ll never forget the game against western Alamance we lost in OT on a missed xP that to this day many would say was actually good. But they brought a pep band and was playing the FSU song, we figured out how to play it on the fly in the stands and drowned them out rest of the game.
Band participation something else that has dropped over the years....i wonder why.....use to be enough band members to spell out C.H.S on the field and make a tunnel for us when we(the team) ran out on the field.....now not so much
They're too busy playing Fortnite to participate in extracurricular activities LOL!!!!
Wiz, I grew up just off Lisbon Street, and before I was old enough to go to the football games, I could hear the band playing from my house on Friday nights, if that tells ya anything!! Those guys were LOUD!
Ryheem chooses Tarleton State University in Stephenville Texas if i remember correctly they were the first to offer him congrats to him.
Hopefully the school has some type of way to stream the games definitely want to keep up with his progress
Hey DH#34, Darkhorse04, what do you two think of painting the lines on the football field black? Or at at least the outlines of the numbers on the field black? A little something different to the field.
I’d like more in the endzones. CLINTON in one and DARK HORSES in the other. Leave lines and #’s white. White pops better on the field.
We've never had the end zone painted before. That would be sweet!!! I love the change to the midfield that was made last season, maybe Coach will paint the end zones this year.
Yeah leave the lines as is i think its a regulation about the color not sure but black would be hard to see.....all for painting the endzones in the past Art student have helped with that kind of thing.....yeah whoever designed the midfield logo last year did a great job it looked awesome
No, there's no regulation against it, because I've seen Shelby and Concord's fields like that. Some schools would outline the yard numbers with their school colors. I was just spitballing.
Hard to believe only a few weeks left before the official first day of practice.....cant wait its going to be a fun season

I can only imagine with Coach Johnson and Coach McFatten that the boys will be even stronger than they were last year, after hitting the weight room and conditioning. They will be scary for most teams!
Agreed i see some of the coaches and players at the local gym aswell and yes their has been some growth...a guy heading off to college Javiah Cruse looks even more stronger and faster than before WSSU is going to love him....look forward to watching him in the East vs West game this month
@FOOTBALLFANTIC @Darkhorse04 @Wizard of the East......Was bored started watching some highlights from a season ago... idk if i mentioned it before but rising Junior Davion "Boogie" Smith is going to be another one to watch for some reason i forget he was only a sophomore last season....he will be big on both sides of the ball and special teams as a returner almost took one to the house vs Wallace/Goldsboro and JK
Sweet! Looking forward to seeing him. I just wish just one time that we would have enough depth that we could platoon offense and defense, like Shelby and a few other 2A teams.
If all those guys who were missing last year are indeed playing we could atleast at the skill positions but a guy like Boogie i want him on the field as much as possible
I agree that I would like to see some of our best players on the field as much as possible, but if we have depth at positions, then we should utilize that. It would give some of our starters much needed rest, and give the reserves much needed playing time, especially in playoffs.
When does practice start, and if has already started, has anyone caught a glimpse, or is practice still closed to the public?
I've been to high school games there but it was back in 1980. They have a hell of a school. Small town feel. I doubt it changed that much. I was back out there a few years ago but didn't go to Stephenville. A lot of professional rodeo riders went to Tarleton State as they have a program for that. Facebook may be the best way to follow. I doubt they stream games.
Like last year i believe they have been working thru out the summer but official practices dont begin until Aug 1st....im going to assume practices are closed to public like last season
