Tarboro Vikings schedule has been released and it’s looking really promising. Tarboro will return a good portion of players but they’ve lost some key players also. The two young stud running backs in Mason & Cam will definitely be a major factor for the high powered offense lead by senior QB Omar Lewis. The offensive line will be good also. My major question for this season is the dline & middle LB since the standouts will graduate this year. Everything else is pretty set. The JV team was dominate also and moved a ton up for the playoffs. The main task for the regular season is mainly Hertford County as they bring back a good solid team that has a great QB in Keveon Rodgers. Early great task for the Vikings. SWE may be better also this year. The start of summer workouts are about 6 weeks away & from what the coaches are telling me the boys has been working hard in the weight room preparing for this upcoming season.

My other concern would be special teams. Tarboro struggled on special teams last year. I also have been told from one of the coaches tarboro has been hitting the weight room hard this off season. Regarding Hertford Im expecting a classic once again this year. Tarboro does have some key d linemen to replace though but after seeing how dominant last years JV team was, I think that void will be filled quickly.

Agreed.

Is number 68 back? That dude was it. It's a shame he wouldn't in that state championship game.

Traditionally Tarboro has most of it's offensive lineman play defensive lineman. Sometimes we will have one or two who strictly play defense or offense. Takoby cofield played both ways for Tarboro if I'm not mistaken.

I’ve been hearing that Tarboro will be moving up to 2A next season. Has anyone else heard that?

Tarboro with only a 502 in 2022/2023 ADM, would possibly move up with the new 7 classes along with maybe several other 1A schools is a possibility. Thomasville @ 624 is in a 1A/2A conference and would also move up if they are now 1A as would Mount Airy@ 572 if the ADMs below don't change much.

If this were to actually happen it would make the Graham county posters happy. I'd be as well ofc lol. This is the first time I've seen anyone say tarboro might be going back to 2a though.

Tarboro will 4 sure be at least 2a under the 7a format unless they go 6a for football and even then Tarboro will go 2a in a few years as more charters enter 1a.
Even if some charters are forced up Tarboro will probably still be 2a.

I'd say 98% chance Tarboro goes 2a.
Of course if you guys got more room across the street Tarboro could fix it to be 1a.

Highschool ot.com did some projections not long after it was announced we'd be going to 7 classifications. They still had Tarboro being in 1a unless it got updated recently. And they always could be wrong it is projections after all.

They are wrong often.

1a will be around 400 if it's 7a.
No way around it.

That's if the other bill (785 I think) passes and isn't changed like this last one was. Even then
When two more charters start in the east Tarboro will then be 2a if both charters are 1a.

Tarboro will be 2a any way you look at it.
If not immediately then by the next alignment for sure.

As it stands now 1a will be around 405.

I really don't see how you or a coach could possibly think Tarboro will be 1a.

The only way is if we go football only with 6 classes or the whole bill passes and some charters move up. Alot need to move up.

64 in 1a is around 405.
Probably 30 schools between 405 and Tarboro.

As it is now Tarboro will be middle of pack in 2a.

Do any of you guys have any numbers or facts that show 1a having 100 schools? That's how many it would take for Tarboro to be 1a.
NCHSAA by laws said 64 or less.
Must be hoping for 1a. Nothing else makes sense.

They probably were going off of recent adms from this past year. For what it's worth most people in Tarboro want to get out of 1a me included. Lot of questions and a lot of speculation will be going on until 2025.

BK can't figure out which is best for his Black Nights. First he wanted charter moved up then he saw the results. Then he wants them to stay. Now he wants a playoff with only 16 teams.

I don't mind charters moving up with 7 classifications but with 4 classes it would be terrible. Probably be 900+ enrollment in 1a.

I really wish 1a was at least 90 schools but that's not going happen. NCHSAA wants 64.

Tell me why you want Robbinsville (345)
to play in a class with schools with (800/900)?

That's like My. Airy playing in a class with schools with (1,200) enrollment. We know how that'd turn out.

Tbh a 16 team playoff would eliminate the possibility of one win teams getting in. This is an issue that I hope in 2025 is fixed we do not need six rounds of playoffs. My ideal playoff format is what we used in the spring season in 2021 first round second round regional States

1a should be 500 at most.
That's about 90/100 teams in 1a.
Not going happen though.
Probably going be 64.

Show me where I said Tarboro will be 1A? I CLEARLY stated one of the coaches said they’ll be 1A. I’m just repeating what was told to me!
