When I first saw the article, before reading it I tried guessing at which coach would get it. I guessed Coach Reid first and if not then Coach Byrne. It isn't because I believe he is the better coach of the two, but because Bunker Hill has advanced so much under him.

That was probably the difference, along with winning another conference title.
Speaking of Coach Byrd at LHS, word is he has stepped down and the job is vacant, should he posted soon if it isn’t already. I’m hoping Byrd stays on staff but I haven’t heard those details.
I say if west Caldwell wins one game next year, their head coach should get it 🤣🤣
Thanks for the Info LTown, hate to hear that. We had begun to improve. If that is his decision I appreciate what he has done for the program but hopefully he'll reconsider.
Too Funny when Coach minor was at Princeton his first full time coaching job he turned that program from losing for several years to 1 A regional first year finals runner up! next year went 9and 4 and next year went 12 and 2 all three years lost to the state champion winner ever year and did not get coach of the year. They gave it to Rosewood coach, that went six and five because they say Princeton was supposed to win that 12 and 2 year LoL just never know!!

Can't wait for 2023 football a lot of key players returning for EB back field will be crowed. just need a QB to step up to give us some pass option if needed and Secondary to get better we have a lot of linemen back.MT Airy last night only threw two passes so you can win with a strong run game you just need a good Defense. Was you at the Mt Airy game? There was a crowd there that night for sure. I got a stinkin speeding ticket on the way to the game too. Wasn’t really trying to speed just lost track of what I was doing and before I could notice and then slow down and I actually started slowing down he got me and there’s the blue flashes in my rear view. Anyway y’all pray for me on that if y’all don’t mind. I could sure use a reduction on that deal or a throw out lol.
Anyway for any CVAC that came out to cheer on the valdese rowdies it’s been a journey and definitely exciting. I mean that is 1/2 of old East Burke out there playing their hearts out with many EB and a few Freedom alum parents in the stands watching. I have said before I’m EB blue til my boy walks into Draughns front door and out on a uniform and step out on the field against EB should he be an athlete. He’s only 2 so that’ll be 12 years down the road but it’ll be here before I know it. The last time a Burke co school went that far in football I believe the Tet offensive hadn’t taken place in Vietnam yet and some of y’all older folks was watching LBJ on a black n white TV give his spill in his southern accent. I was at the game and I tell ya MT Airy could prob do a number on any CVAC team. Those boys were for real. Draughn did not have an answer for them. Their star RB is only a Jr so expect a lot from Andy Griffins alma mater next year. Expect a lot from EB next year especially in that running game. Next years “Feud” oughta be good before EB starts CVAC conf action.
Unless I saw it wrong or it changed I think Coble our power back is not playing Basketball so that might just mean he’s hitting the wgt room and track so expect a muscle car in the backfield next year
I know i had a couple of comment on the 1A post from a Draughn dad about we beat them early Dula was out, but they can't take that win from us We are still building the EB football back and doing it the right way! next year we should be ready for sure it has been fun so take care guys and Merry Christmas!!

Well unfortunately it was. 92 in a 70. I don’t firmly believe that and like I said I wasn’t really trying to speed just keeping alittle above to keep faster pace and it got away from me lol

Thomasville had exactly the same situation….three very good ones in 55 years. Took us three tries to get it right, and a fourth to make it stick.
Lincolnton will make it work. Too much tradition and great fanbase to stay down for long.
