Dammit Duck!…fix that score…Foard finally wins and you got it 52 all. 😂
Here’s another snippet for y’all from our luncheon the other day…
We’re all standing at the register waiting to pay…and lamenting the fact that Lincolnton couldn’t show up. Sooo… I mention that I enjoyed the Knucklehead song that Lincolnton had shared with us from the Bar-Kay’s. It reminded me of the Blues Brothers. Of course no one in the group hit the play button and listened to it. Do what? I always do when it’s from Lincolnton. I went on to explain that the music was from 1967…and tragically….most of the Bar-Kay’s group members were killed later that year in a plane crash.
Duck looks at me and replies….”Were they all in the same plane?”
I’m like….”Uh….well….i guess”. 😂
Go figure!
Good times! Y’all❤️…can’t wait to do it again!😉
Maiden Creek, thank you, my friend for listening. The Duck asked me, once, in a very polite way, "Why do you play those stupid songs, they make no sense and don't relate to your posts, a non sequitur thing"... Thought to myself, "Some people just reject culture, I suppose."

AMD, It's not my wish, I was hoping we could play an old time opponent, East Rutherford, at our place, even though one of the polls has them ranked 6th or 7th, and on paper we wouldn't match up with them very well, and no one wants to play Reidsville (unless you're Hickory); If we can advance to play them, and if I know the Lincolnton mindset, our team will be thinking, "with much respect for an old champion (Reidsville), we'll be there !"... I'm just sorry our guys didn't get a home game. Don't take this as me grumbling, but I feel like they deserve it, even though it looks as though it might not happen.
GrizzlyDevil, about the Christmas photos, if I could suggest a very fine pose, you being a
man of distinction, put your hand inside of your coat and don't look at the camera, but look off into the distance like you're about to give a soliloquy from from Hamlet, you know, "To be or not to be".
The reason I say it, there was this man I knew who was born before the turn of the 20th century. He served as superintendent of the Lincolnton's Electric Dept., and he was also a firefighter. Heard one of the current guys recently comment about the pose he struck on these photos from back in the 1910's and 20's. He was always looking off into the distance.
Consider this, a hundred years from now, it's maybe Thanksgiving or Christmas 2124, you're great great great grandchildren are looking at old photos, and one of them asks their grandpa, "Why did our great great great grandfather put his hand in his coat and look off into the distance like he was about to do MacBeth's "Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow," and He will tell them, "Kids, damnit, it's because he was a
"man of distinction."
Side Note: If we get North Surry, again, this year, we have our hands full in that game. *They have home field advantage. *They got several key players from last year's team including the quarterback, McBride, one of the Simmons, and #3 not sure of the name, maybe Leftwich, who was able to chase down Lincolnton's K. Heath, after he was past the secondary and into the clear, on one occasion. *They also have a revenge factor working in their favor. I think #50 on defense, (maybe Gwyn or Gwynn) graduated. I hope so, he stayed in our backfield.
