Saw on Maxpreps it was a forfeit and score was stopped after the 3rd qrt. Guess their starting to getting ready for basketball season,
Very jealous of how competitive this conference is. Seems like each week is a dogfight for every team.
In fairness, it sounds like early coaching decisions were pretty dumbfounding. Now, I have to give credit to the staff. In the CVAC, they are making the necessary adjustments at the half, but the first halves I can feel for that fan.

I wouldn't mind a cakewalk conference that guarantees a second round and possible third round playoff game with a home game thrown in. Lincolnton gets the first round under seeded "upset" win and then a date with Salisbury, Monroe, or Shelby. I believe that has been the last three playoff opponents.
I am only following on MaxPreps. My wife was watching television and I decided not to opt for trying to find it on the internet or YouTube. So, I only had MaxPreps to draw my conclusions from the first half. The fake punt gave Maiden excellent field position which they took advantage of and scored. The other was the second and goal at the three and turned the ball over on downs. I could see a "diehard" being frustrated with the team and the coaching staff.
The fake punt was a beaut of a call. Maiden brought the house and had nobody back. The punter missed an open receiver that would've likely taken it to the house. Good call, not quite executed. The Devil's stood their ground on the other series...not sure how to sort that one. Looked like blocking broke down, and the defender stuffed us for the loss. Coulda been bad play calling, I dunno.
I guess you could question not taking a shot at a field goal, but we were down big.
Not sure why screaming at your own team is the best course of action either way🤷🏻♂️. I know its the reality of sports. He paid his ticket. Anyway, it made the victory that much better.

As it turns out, the Wolves did NOT take the wrong exit tonight. Congratulations to the players, staff, and fans. Maiden has a fine team and will be a tough out for anyone in the playoffs.
West Lincoln 13 EB 6 EB had the ball on the 4 yard line first and goal with a chance to go ahead late in the 4 th qt and went backwards on 4 plays!!Still surprised West did not look that good.
You say that, but you would hate it. 4-5 of our games every year are a waste of time, hard to watch and do not prepare the kids for playoff runs. I wouldn't mind a couple of games like that, but not half of the schedule.
After last night at Bunker Hill seeing a great game, then hearing about the Maiden-Lincolnton game what a competitive conference you guys have!! I wanted to save this till the end of the year, but man when you have a race that comes down to the last week or weeks it's hard not to talk about the games and wild finishes!! I hope that realignment in 2025 keeps everyone together but knowing QT and that staff they will screw up the endgame just like they will with us in WNC!!! Enjoy these games and these moments because moving forward I don't believe they will put everyone together again in the same conference again it's just the nature of high school athletics unfortunately and we have a association in this state that doesn't know what the hell they are doing!!
True that and you are right. I remember seasons when the non-conference had South Point, Kings Mountain, and Shelby. The team was ready to get into conference play. Best of luck to you next week in Lawndale.
EB might pick up a win this week against West Caldwell!!

AMD, glad to see you up, around and being your normal self. The Apostle Paul, wrote in the book of 1Thessalonians, that we should encourage others. Your words of hope to the Burke County poster tells all that you're just fine. You know, I've got to say, though, this time you showed very much class. You growled and snorted a little, Friday night, but then offered a sensible assessment of the game and a congratulations to your peaceful neighbors just down the road. Saw a post or two of yours over the weekend and they were well stated, but knowing you and your usual tone I could see they were a little sedate, as well.
This morning, I sat here in a dark cold house wondering what you and GrizzlyDevil might be thinking about concerning your team. I knew it wasn't about us because that's past, other than any corrections that might be needed. Knowing both of your love for the team, I'd say you primary concerns are with injured players and their well-being. Then, after that, how to end the Red Devils season with a loss, and how the conference could be won, but these are just a few of many, I'd think.
To get you completely back let me just say it's a new week, the conference is wide open and there are things to do and football to be discussed. As a bit of a tease, and as you know, West Lincoln will not be easy for us, and Bandys will probably be tough for Bunker Hill. As for the Blue Devils, frankly, I don't think Newton-Conover will be a piece of cake, either but that is the world (The CVAC) we live in, isn't it... Flyrod has declared all games as games of the week so we have a lot to look forward to.
Side Note: Speaking of a new week👆, Monday is recommended as the start of the week, according to ISO, but in the text, I was going by the Hindu calendar which says today is the start of the new week. One of the places this calendar is used is in Cambodia. If I woke up tomorrow, in Cambodia, I'd run like hell.
I'm torn between the two as well. Last week 8 would have given the win to West but after Bandys and West game, I'm not so sure.
I feel like it's a game that neither team wants to be there or cares honestly. Feel like both have already checked out on the season
