Javonte Williams#3. Is he the best ever?

yall are killing this thread that ia supposed to be about Javonte. And i think he made the right move. He wanted to go to Carolina from jump its his dream. Hard work made is dream come true. im a State fan and will never pull for UNC but i will pull for #3.
i hate UNC as much as i do ED and JK i will never pull for them either.
ill admit although i said i was pulling for WRH, that was only if all three of us won. once ND lost the DuCo sweep was out of the question. then i was a Rams fan!

I read where Javonte arrived at Shrine Bowl practice today. They will have him playing db.

He is probably better suited at linebacker. The only long run Freshwater had against WRH Williams was on the sideline with a leg cramp. I turned to dog79 and pointed that out to him.

i saw a great game no matter who won! much more exciting than our game! i just love to watch a good game regardless of who wins!

It was a great game to watch. I watched the Havelock game at 3 then went to Kenan to watch WRH. I'm becoming a big fan of the Wing T. WRH has a lot of talent. Northeastern could not stop Williams on the buck sweep. If my memory is right they only ran it 1 time to him Saturday and that was the first play. 72 yd td run.

Thanks 96 i will agree. If he played for a 4a school he would be a 4 or 5 star recruit

His size is why he didn't get a lot more offers. I inquired why State hadn't offered. They got Person. He wasn't going to State anyway but I think Clemson, GT, Ga, OSU, teams like that would do great with Williams. He played some of the best schools in the state and averaged 18 yds a carry. Valavictorian of his class, can go to school anywhere. I just don't understand the mindset to not go after a kid like this. I hope he does well at UNC because I intend to say I told you so to a few people.

Shrine Bowl is known for not letting the best players play their position. No reason he shouldn’t get at least 10 carries in that game. Have they said whether it will be on ESPNU or ESPN3 yet?

It is a great event in a great venue. I have been a few times but this weekend I will be in Onslow County.

42 position players are selected plus a specialist and long snapper. 42 out of over 7,000 players. You can only have so many running backs. He will most likely play a lot on D. SC has three QBs that are prolific and can spin it and run it so the DBs will be getting a lot of work. This game has been controlled by the D lines for several years, hopefully NC's can do so again or it could be a tough day.

I would expect about sixty offensive plays in the game. May be 35 will be runs. If he plays RB he will need to perform to keep getting it. I think NC will run the one QB a lot and will pass with the other (61 TDs in the air this year).

What impresses me about Williams is not only is he a special talent that only comes along every so often, he is an exceptional student as well. If I'm not mistaken, I believe someone told me he was tops in his school and had offers from both Yale and Harvard. That's what impresses me.

The resource officer at WRH once told me that Javonte was one of the finest, most respectful and hardest working students in the school and a great role model in class as well as on the field.

Personally I hope the idea of combining schools never, ever comes to fruition. I love the fact that each team pretty much has a rival and the competition to beat the other is what makes the games so great now. There's not many things better than having the WRH vs JK battles for the right to go to the ship. A lot of those kids know each other and I'm sure lots are actually kin to each other as well. It's just an electric atmosphere at those games. As far as a hypothetical school name I'd say it would be called something simple, like Duplin High or maybe even Duplin Central High.

That being said, I hope JK never wins another game, period.
If they build another high school in Duplin Co it should be named W.Dallas Herring High School. A Duplin county native who did so much for education and historic preservation in NC. He has been called the Father of NC’s Community College system for his efforts in putting a CC in nearly every county.

If you want to know how a kid really is the resource officer would be one of the first I would ask. They know!

Dang!!! The Wallace Coaches and Players were in the tunnel pulling for JK just as hard as they could. That's pretty cold.

I think you meant ED right? I'm sure WRH was pulling for them. 96panther is lying. He was pulling for WRH. He had a bulldog shirt on under his coat.

Javonte didn't get offers because he was listed as an undersized linebacker. He will play RB at UNC.

I really liked Javonte Williams voted him 2aplayer of the year on Carolina Prep. I never saw Jimmy Jerome play personally, he's old school but from what I've heard from some of my older buddies jimmy Jerome was mighty good but the best I've ever seen from WRH is Nate Irving. Now Javonte is in that company however.

From what I have witnessed in my lifetime, Nate was the best from WRH. You could tell that he was so much better than anyone else on the field. A man amongst boys, so to speak.

Both of them are really good backs. I know State is giving Freshwater a good look and they should be looking at Walker too. I'm friends with someone on the staff so when i get the chance his name will come up.
I know some one that knows J.R. Walker father very well in Elizabeth City and although Clemson is interested I heard he might be leaning toward South Carolina right now either way is a good decision between the two. Walker father use to coach in Edenton at Holmes and he was going to bring J.R. to Edenton but the Edenton school administration didn't do the right thing by him with the AD position so he resigned and went back to Elizabeth City and kept JR at Northeastern.

There have been many athletes who were very capable academically, but I do agree with coaches promoting their players is huge. That’s one of the things I love about Coach Motsinger. He does an outstanding job at promoting his players. Going to a D2 or D3 school isn’t a bad option as long as the education is FREE! That’s always should be the ultimate goal is to assist these kids with an opportunity to further their education as well as an opportunity to continue playing. STUDENT-ATHLETE!
I heard from sources from Edenton that one of the knock on the Aces current coaching staff is that they don't promote their players even if they are currently academic qualified. For example Keimon Bailey wasn't promoted properly by the staff and the kids coming back the coaches should be informing the kids about camps and combine they should try to attend this off season. They have some good juniors, sophomores, and guys that will be seniors next season and they should help those kid as much as they can and not just use them to better their resume. I've heard they even say that the guys are too small to play college ball but yet they always beat team that are bigger than them. The have always been the smallest team in their conference but they win and they are strong but small and has a big heart.

What is UNC going to do with Lawrence from Wake Forest at the RB position if they bring in Williams who to me is a bigger faster and a better RB than Lawrence?

UNC was down to one RB at the start of a game this year. The backup was a walkon freshman that had never played a game. Logan and Hood played together so they should be able to figure something out. I think Williams may be needed just as much on D. I could see him helping in a lot of places. Impressive ball player.

I would leave him at RB could be in the running for the Heisman in the future, he has a good upside to him if he stays healthy and the coaching staff use him the right way. I heard UNC want to bring in three freshman RB's this year.

If tarheel would run the ball, they would need good young rb's. Someone compared him to natrone means. I think he could be every bit as good or better
