If Shelby holds Monroe to 28 they are winning it all and need to size the rings Friday night. Shelby may beat them but it's going to be an absolute shootout if they do. I have no problem being wrong but I am thinking of a 49-35 game.
I only care about who reidsville is playing and who the next game may be. I have no knowledge of other classes.
Western alamance is currently in the clock unless realignment drastically changes the schedule.
I really wanted to see Monroe and Reidsville play as we have not seen that match up. I wanted a break from the Shelby Reidsville game but not like this.
One of the “four” stated this the state championship game.

Talked to a junior from the Burns team tonight. He said indeed they had a lot of injuries...said several kids didn't play against Monroe because of concussions. Two offensive line starters didn't play. He also said HB1 was injured...played but was playing with a leg injury. He said if Shelby can contain the Monroe qb then Shelby will win. Good kid btw.
He will be the best dual threat QB we have played in a long time. I don't think we can stop him but hopefully we can contain some.
Not a bad take at all. The problem Monroe seemed to present on film is when teams try to contain him too much it opens other doors and makes other areas weaker on defense. Shelby has one advantage that will help compared to other teams which is athletes. That turf is going to be hard as a rock tonight. Toughness will have to prevail. This matchup is interesting. Shelby O Line and defensive adjustments will make or break the game in my opinion. The kid from Burns is correct. We were beat up pretty bad but I had to correct some things on who did and did not play. Big game tonight.
Vick 2.0 is what I called him. His speed bouncing outside and getting away from tackles is very impressive. Fun kid to watch play.
Best day of the week. I hope both teams do well. Nothing worse than having a game that is this hyped up and it falls flat. Should be lots of fireworks in this game. Gonna be cold tonight. True playoff football weather. It will be at the freezing mark at kickoff and below freezing by the end of the game. Don't know how much of a factor that will be or not.

Agreed but Monroe is a team you need to be full strength and hope they shoot themselves in the foot some. Should be a fun game to watch.
He had great speed and was very elusive but wasn’t a great passer. And he had an injured throwing arm in playoffs and couldn’t throw very deep. But he did kill a lot of teams with his speed.
@ShelbyLion told me he was having a watch party at his house. Something about Ribeye steaks and Cheetos. BYOCopenhagen and BYODeodorant. Something about the IPad creating close proximity of the viewing area.
And he was splurging for actual Cheetos and not the Wal-Mart Great Value ones.

Since I was unable to attend any games this year I subscribed to the NFHS network and was able to see both Monroe and Shelby several times.
Monroe should most definitely be the favorite based on the numbers but it will be a tall order for Monroe to prevail. Shelby is one of those programs that start out with a huge advantage every time they put the pads on because of their tradition and history. They have been in many games at this level. Monroe has not.
Both Monroe and Northeastern have been knocking on the door for a state championship for the past several years and if either of them is going to get the rings this is the year.
Good luck to both teams and I hope all the fans going to the game will stay warm and be safe going to the game and back home.

I have 4 kids. 21, 20, 17, and 16. I've been on the high school scene for a long time...8 years now...through all the sports my kids have played I've met lots of kids. My 16 year old had a swim meet last night. A girl on the swim team dates a kid that plays for Burns. He was at the meet last night. He filled me in.
I am blessed, incredibly.
