The Foothills will have some good teams this fall but who are some of the top players in the area? Who are the best football players from Allegheny, Wilkes, Ashe, Yadkin. Stokes, and Surry counties this year? Any kids that are step ahead of the rest? We can call this a pre-season who’s who and educate everyone on guys we should make sure we watch on Friday nights. Deana has a pretty good handle on this for the area so your input would be welcomed as well.

It became official today, June 30th. Ethan Albright retires as Grimsley Athletic Director.
For some reason none of the bigger news sources reported on it today. Maybe it happens tomorrow? Could there be a bigger reason for this? We will find out.

Grimsley hired Evan Fancourt, former Page head basketball coach of 4 years, as the new Athletic Director. Fancourt has coached High School basketball for 9 years (Southern Guilford for 5 of those) and left the Page job in June of 2023, to take a private sector job in Sales.

I also heard that another coach who was in close tandem with Albright will be leaving Grimsley, as well.

With majority of the 71st football team coming back from a state runner up effort. Who do you think is the biggest threat on the East if the Falcons handle business and make it back to the Eastern Finals?

Any info on them?
