4A Greater Metro Conference

Here is my picks for this year

1) Mooresville.. They return good portion of the team with good talented QB. I believe they will be stronger this year than last season.
2) AL Brown.. With the return of good QB and RB and some other starters they will pose a threat for 2nd spot
3) Lake Norman.. I believe this team could possibly get 2nd spot as well
4) Hickory Ridge.. Should be better than last year. Possibly be the team could fight for 2nd and 3rd spot.
5) Cox Mill
6) West Cabarrus
7) South Iredell… They will have lot of return players with a good QB. Unfortunately due to few players that transfer to other schools I’m really not sure how much improvement they will have.

American Legion Baseball Jerry Hudson

Area IV Commissioner Jerry Hudson passed away Saturday morning. His untimely passing was made known to the fans at the State Tournament prior to the the planned start of the 4th game Saturday as flags were were lowered to half mask where they will remain for the rest of the tournament. Jerry, who has provided 45 years of service, headed up the efforts that have resulted in Cherryville being awarded the 2024 and 2025 state tournaments and put them in position to possibly be awarded a future regional tournament.

He will be sorely missed. Prayers go out to his family.
