Turf

Multiple schools this yr are getting turf ! Western NC is becoming turf heavy

Starmount , Forbush, Wilkes Central, East Wilkes , West Wilkes , North Wilkes , East Surry , Surry Central and North Surry and Alexander Central

Looks like Elkin is only one in that area that isn’t getting turf and also Stokes co isn’t either but I’m sure that may come sooner or later

While this is a 1A Thread,

It is reported today in the Charlotte Observer that the Carolina Panthers are hosting a double header for high school fans to see 4 of North Carolina's top 4A teams play on Thursday, August 23. First game at 4 PM with Independence taking on Myers Park. Then at 8 PM Providence Day plays Weddington.

The price is $8 and the games in Panther Stadium. A great opportunity to see how our favorite teams "might" compare to 4 of the top high school programs in the State.

See the great article with lots of detail in today's Charlotte Observer.

Elephant in the room

Lets address the Elephant in the room. No one else wants to talk about it so I'll be the one to say something about it. How is it that East Forsyth can get all these transfers in and when other kids want to go somewhere else their request gets denied. I mean let's be honest all the kids going to East are not getting Power 5 offers and if they do they get them before they go to East. Willard has talent every year and still cant win it all. You take him from East and put him at a Carver or Atkins and he's maybe 1 and done and looking for another job. I just don't think its fair for East to build these power teams and take kids from elsewhere. You can only play 11 at a time. You have 32 and all of them won't be playing. Someone please chime in on this.
