Anyone looking for a good game should have been in Lincolnton, this evening. The Blue Devils jumped out to a 14-0 lead but we were able to score some, too. Every time we made it close and even threatened to take the lead away from them, they were able to hold us, so lots of credit to the Maiden defense and a great team effort to secure the win. All the best to a fine Blue Devil squad.
Very proud of our Wolves who themselves gave a really good effort. You are very tough, and a fine team who anyone could appreciate. As always, thanks to you and the staff for all the hard work, dedication and making it possible for the people of Lincolnton to identify with a winner.
Postscript: Even though Lincolnton lost, tonight, we end the season as winners, statistically speaking, for the first time since the 2016 season. For the past two years, we broke even, but this year we finished at 6-5.
Side Note: Next year, we enter a new conference and format, and I heard, tonight, we will lose some of our non-conference matchups. Have to say, though, with regrets, I do hate to see the CVAC come to a close. The balance and competition was incredible. A special thanks to all the fine posters who have certainly made my life more pleasurable and fun.
