What has been taking a long time to build now they are getting closer with coming up with a tight budget of $130 million. The athletic fields are not included. It was around $190 million with athletic fields. It was mentioned that will try and work on something so they can have athletic fields included. It could take up to 30 months starting on it. Or possibly sooner

Interesting fact: By the end of this year's NFL draft of the 21 public high schools in Charlotte Mecklenburg that offer football, 17 of them will have an active alum on an NFL roster. Six of them with two or more.

The six with two or more; West Meck, Mallard Creek, Chambers, Myers Park, Ardrey Kell and Butler. The four with none; Garinger, East Meck, Palisades and Ballantyne Ridge, with the latter two schools both being brand new schools, less than three years old.

Nice non-conference schedule!

I know it’s a little early to start but I’m excited for this one. Week 1 to open up at Neutral site (Memorial Stadium I believe) and It’s going to be on 21 or 22 which is what is listed on our schedule graphic

This will be a major test for the Blue Devils as This Weddington team is known for a tough defense with an above avg offense. Mooresville Offensive is very good but Defense will be the ? ; I am excited as this is prob of one the biggest match up Mooresville has had in Non conference wise. This is going to be fun.

Mooresville looks to challenge themselves this year with Grimsley (Pre season) ; Weddington; Hough and East Forsyth.

Last year I said several times that Lewis-Williams, in my opinion, was the best ladies basketball player in the state and that just like Seth Curry, the ACC really stepped on it by not getting her.

Well, I am happy to report that she has started the first 3 games for the University of Buffalo and is logging the third most minutes of the players. Buffalo is 2 and 1 after 3 games. She is going to make her mark I have no doubt.

It is with great sadness to have to share with all of you long time posters and friends of mine that egfan passed away this past Saturday after a 10-month battle with cancer. Him and I, along with my dad and brother have sat together EVERY Friday night (home and away) in the fall at Warrior games for the past 20 years. We met back in 2005-2006 through this very site as two loyal Warriors (as you all know, being a true East Gaston fan requires LOTS of loyalty) became game night buddies at that point and the rest was history. Friday nights will not be the same. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Lake Norman: Rumors have surfaced but until I know it’s 100% I’m keeping Ln at 1 until then. I believe LN could be the most Complete team as They have a solid core back offensively and Defensively they have atleast 3-5 starters back and those guys are good. Also LN made a good off season hire to help with OL/DL so that could help a ton. For Me - OL play n Defense will be the primary ?s for LN.

Mooresville: Prob the pre season fav for most but I have some BIG ?s on the defense side for mainly non conference schedule - If we can hang or beat Weddington; Hough ; EF then that will give me a indication but Rn too many holes to replaces and can’t replace a guy like Jamari Farmer a Major D1 talent. I love DC hire tho but New DC means different style n scheme

Statesville: Statesville is going be Statesville - Fast , Quick and Athletic but Disciplined play and clean football will be key. I heard they may be doing some different thing this yr so will see how that goes - My main question is QB as Youth tends to either do very well or struggle at that position

South Iredell: They have good core back but many are going to say - can they keep their winning ways up. There a lot of ? For South so only time will tell with them.

Davie Co : ***Dark Horse** Davie is ? For me as they
Hired a great coach so he has his work cut out for him but they had a lot of youth last yr so David usually better on offensive side then defense so if they can get a solid DC they could be dangerously good if they get stuff to go their way.

North Iredell: Kaleb Sales is a good QB n there some other good kids on this team but lack of depth n size hurt them. NI got a tough gig in this conference as Davie Co/SI are maybe their only shot at wins which NI has yet to beat SI when I pick NI so will see what North does Non conference wise which will be big if they want any chance for a 3-4 win season
