Not sure if their schedule is right but it only shows them playing 9 games this year they have been so bad that it’s probably hard for them to find anybody that wants to play them. And it only shows 16 players on the roster. Really sad what’s going on at West. The administration should be ashamed of where this program is and where it’s headed. So sad that nobody gives a crap. This is another big game in Winston Salem that should be good(maybe). Grimsley is #1 and they have all the D-1 Talent on paper. Just amazing what they got... but they do have a small O-line. I picked Mt tabor in an upset earlier on another thread but after reading about so many D-1 players..Change of heart
Grimsley should win this one over a very good Tabor team who normally gets a good start(Ask Richmond Sr. last year 48-7). Tabor was 9-3 last year with two losses to East Forsyth... Low Scoring affair, as offenses try to figure it out.

The season will start out with two interesting matchups. Max Prep has this game starting at 8pm? Also will be played Thursday.

#77 6’5 Junior lineman got his 1st D1 offer from Appalachian State. Should be more to come. He has the size, good foot work and speed and will only get better. Best of all he is a great young man and very coachable

A big game here as PD will take on RH Northwestern at Bank of America Stadium. PD is loaded to my understanding. Northwestern is usually a powerhouse team in S.C. I look for this to be good game. I wish I could be at this one but want be able to make it.

Cleveland makes their way to the Port City this Friday to play the Vikings in a huge 4A East game. Cleveland is 64-13 in their past 6 seasons and they have only lost 5 games during their past 4 seasons. Hoggard is 56-13 in their past 6 seasons. This is the first meeting between the schools. There will be plenty of D1 talent on the field. Cleveland QB Jackson Byrd will be key for the Rams to have success against a very good Viking defense lead by Malakahi West. West will get pressure but can the Vikes contain Byrd? Both teams look primed for a deep run if they can stay healthy. Have to go with Hoggard at home, 24-17.

I heard south had some good young skilled players and looks like that was the difference tonight.

Interesting matchup game that will be played at Bank of America stadium at 3pm. Ticket price $5.

She will be responsible for athletic facilities, upgrades, repairs, and improvements. She will oversee athletic fundraising for the district moving forward. In her over 40 years experience working in public education she has been a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and executive director. She has been named Mount Airy Senior High (MASH) Teacher of the Year and 2011 Region 7 Principal of the Year. She has coached multiple sports and was the coach of the 1990 MASH volleyball team that won a state championship. Her strong support of student-athletes made her an excellent Board member for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. On the Board she served as Vice President, President, and Past President providing input, guidance, and expertise for the group. She was principal of Mount Airy High School when the school earned the Wells Fargo Championship Cup in 2007 and 2017.
Several opportunities to support student-athletes are currently available with more being planned.

Here we go. We’ve made it.

Big Blue makes the bi-annual trip up to Mocksville to take on Davie County. Admittedly, no clue what Davie is about this year. Had a pretty explosive offense last year.

Mooresville is definitely gonna be anchored by the defense. Something like 10 returning starters. Then add in the KJ Gillispie addition… real high potential on that side of the ball. Offense will be a work in progress, especially early. Lots of new starters on that side. WRs have looked pretty good this preseason. Just need the line to give the QB some time.

Anyone got any insight on Davie?

Ashbrook vs Forest Hills this could be a tough out for Ashbrook. Forest Hills went 9-2 last year losing to shelby in the 1st round. Not sure how many they return, but should be a good test to see if Ashbrook can live up to the preseason hype.

Crest vs Gaffney Well, i want to pull for the conference for every non conference game. With that being said i dont know much about Gaffney. But if they the same Gaffney from recent years this could get bad. I like what Crest has to offer. And the new DC should work out pretty good but judging by past games at KM when he gets in a bind hes going to send everyone and play man behind it. He should have the studs to do that but Gaffney should have talent to outlast it.

Forestview vs Burns not alot of talk about Forestview during the preseason. But i did see Burns in 7v7 over the summer and judging from what i heard of the SP scrimmage could be a long night for Forestview

Huss vs Draughn Draughn returns their 6'7 qb, TE and their RB from a team a year ago that went to the state semis. Not sure exactly how many they return all together. Huss returns most of their skill guys and replacing 3 out of 5 OL but has added some youth from a good crop of young talent. 7v7 draughn couldnt keep up with the speed on the perimeter. This could be a fun ball game to watch or it could go lop sided real quick. I hoping for the lop sided

Kings Mountain vs Shelby if the rumor mills are true from over the winter with all the players bouncing from school to school. I really hope Shelby puts it to KM. But i honestly think with all new staff and starting in a huge ravalry setting KM could struggle early

Okay everyone I just to like to know everyone's opinion. Im not talking about who has the best 1a offense but what the best scheme that fits 1a or what is your favorite to watch. There a lot out there let me just throw some out there. Robbinsville mostly Pro or I and like to run in between the tackles Good ole smash mouth football. then you have Murphy's wing T really hard to stop and can go to distance on any play. I wish Swain still ran this offense but the Veer. With a great QB it is deadly. you also have the spread and you can not forget the Tarboro T one of the most hard to stop offense scheme

Sp looked pretty good on offense for the most part. The qb is special, the fb is a load for anyone to bring down. The sp defense actually played better than I expected. We're going to struggle on defense a little this year early on, but I was pleasantly surprised with the play if some of the young guys. Lincolnton was much improved from what I remember from last year. The high snaps for Lincolnton really hurt them. Good luck to Lincolnton the rest of the way!
