Swain Hall of Fame 2015 inductees

This is worth posting both for Coach White, who had two state championships ('01 and '04), but also for Jim Sneed, who owned two of Bryson City's iconic restaurants, Sneed's and (most importantly for this post) Na-Bers, the universal hangout of Swain High students for decades (and it may still be, even though it's been under different ownership for at least a decade now). Mr. Sneed was a fixture in Swain County for many years, and one of the downsides of Christmas break was that that was when he took HIS vacation and closed Na-Bers up for the weeks of Christmas and New Year's.

And we can't leave the '08 girls' volleyball team out either... they were apparently a dominating force in their day too.

Congratulations, and honors, to all.

East Burke

Is the Cavs really turning things around this year an will make a good conference showing??

I'm pretty sure they won't do much against Shelby an Crest but everything else looks up in the air as far as being competitive. Good showing against East Rutherford an played strong against Freedom dispite the score.

Thoughts?

Tuscola Will dominate this year

Im going ahead and calling it. Tuscola will dominate this year, and in the future as long as the Head Coach stays with the program.
All the Haters who keep harping on Tuscola going 5-7 last year with this new coach keep forgetting,
He took the Head coaching Job 2 weeks before the season started, he lost some assistant coaches, and then he changed the type of offense they run.

For people who don't know, he is running the triple option now.
For a new head coach to come in 2 weeks before the season starts and change the offense and still win 5 games, that's good in my book.

once Tuscola puts the stamp on Pisgah this year, all will be normal in the world again.
:)

Mooresville 38 Statesville 25

Game was played at Mooresville instead of Statesville due to poor field conditions at SHS. Mooresville led 21-12 at the half but Statesville ran the kick off back to open the second half to close to within 2 points of the Blue Devils. Mooresville quickly answered and then methodically pulled away down the stretch to seal the win. Donshell Jetton had over 200 yds rushing for Mooresville. The Blue Devils are on the road this Friday at N Lincoln.
