Top NC coaches leaving/moving

Ties rules....ties. Crest isn't too familiar with that. Only 5 head coaches in 100 years and 4 of the 5 came from Shelby. He has a lot of ties here. You can't buy ties. You apply and get leverage....maybe he did, maybe he didn't.

Ties..... They have Walmarts in Anderson just like they do in Shelby. Can buy himself lots of ties....LMAO

If the money is what Rulz said it is, I'd help him pack his bags. Listen, I'm glad he's still at Shelby, and I think we'll win another title next year, but this guy has a wife and kids, and if they are anything like my greedy wife and kids, they want to eat everyday. Gotta do what's best for them.

Man, believe you me, Ware would have left with the quickness had he been offered that job. I got sick of the "Oh, it's just a crazy rumor, he'd never leave Shelby, loyalty talk". The only rumor part of it was he'd actually been hired and was leaving. Many among the Shelby fan base overlooked the fact that he applied for the job, they just dismissed the whole situation as a ridiculous rumor started by a Crest fan, when in actuality, they were the naive ones, believing so called loyalty and ties would deter the coach from having interest in that position, and the chance for him to better his livelihood.

Any coach up here in NC, worth his salt would have left, especially a young, awesome coach like Ware. It's family first in my yard. I love my job, but let someone double my salary and provide me with the opportunity to give them more. Bye.

I saw a long post from someone in the know, scolding all y'all for spreading rumors. The post went on to confirm the "rumors" you were spreading, to the point. :)
Hey, I love my job, but they know good and well if they miss a paycheck they won't see me again. They also know there is a figure that someone could offer me that I'd be forced to take. That's just life. Add to it the seriously low value our culture show teachers, and I wouldn't ask any sort of loyalty from those guys at all. Do what's best for you and your family, period. If that can be at Shelby, fantastic.

just fun fact but I was in the state of Illinois for 4 years 2010-2014 in the NW subs of Chicago, Head Coaches who had taught for 8 years were making between $85-120,000 a year with a 70% retirement plan.

That's where dad and I disagree with you LA. Maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn't. To some people (us) there is more to life than money. Ware's daddy was the county DA and the PA announcer at Shelby for many, many years and started the Supper Club at Shelby. Both him and his wife were/are very much respected in the community....wonderful people! She taught for decades. If am happy, my family is comfortably taken care of, working where I grew up...where my parents helped build the community, where I played growing up, where I have so many friends, where my kids have so many friends, where my wife has so many friends, where my team has won 4 state titles in a row....it's gonna take a lot more than money to pull me and them away from that. To me $50k is certainly not worth giving all of that up to move to a place where I know no one, have no history, and move away from my friends and family that I have had for decades. Again, this is if I am comfortably living where I am. If life is a daily struggle and the financial lift would cure lots of struggles then....peace out.

We were some of the naive ones...I truly didn't think he had applied due to the above circumstances....but you just never know.

There is nothing more than money when you can't pay the bills on a 2 family teacher salary in NC. If a coach can go to SC and get a 10k raise it's worth it. That's as an assistant, much bigger raise as an HFC.
