Statesville at Crest • Rd. 2 •

Business picks up at the Ranch next Friday.

Don’t know much about Statesville other than what I saw last year. They look to have size and speed and they just dispatched an arch enemy of ours.

Our young men need to get focused. Statesville is the next team up to try an unlock the code to stopping Tater and Adam’s. Addison, Green and Edwards. (They must bring defensive backs of high quality).

Also to deal with are Carson and Tate out of the backfield. Crest scores in so many ways. Punts and kickoffs and everything in between

The Crest defense has stepped it up lately so that has helped out tremendously. I assume the hounds will try and pound us up the middle like everyone else. Our pass defense is as legitimate as one can be.

Hope we see a good one. Safe travels to the Greyhounds and their fans. Welcome once more to Cleveland County and the Ranch.

Turnover turnover turnovers. Statesville had 3 last night, SP had ZERO!! We had 5 against Hickory and lost by 2 tds. If we limit our turnovers we can run with anyone. Not worried about matching up Athlete to Athlete, not even worried with the coaching matchup. Just us to have a turnover free game. We do that, I love our chances. Coming back home to CC. I'll be at Creekside for my normal pregame meal

Who won the middle school championship this year?

Champ, love it. Hopefully Statesville wants to run. Been a minute since someone wanted to just rev up and go with us.

I think it’s going to take 40 plus to beat us if we’re all out running with anyone. I know that last year Statesville had speed and size.

Hopefully we see a good one.

Always have enjoyed my man Champ on these boards, and I know hes been down this way over years supporting other schools in this county.. Well not supporting but yall know what I mean...

As much as it makes me want to drive head first into a wall of 10 foot thick concrete by saying this, BUT different animal than anything yall have seen is coming friday Champ...

No weaknesses on this offense, blazing speed at every single skill position.... Deadly accurate QB with wheels and two very good RB's... Defense is starting to catch up.... The hounds will have to score every possession cause if those infidel Cha'gas get a stop or two they will pour it on and next thing you know you are down 28

Your quote above may be true in most cases but this is a different beast offensively .... Statesville always has athletes and speed of their own, I just dont see them containing this offense...Maybe for a quarter to quarter and a half... At some point the greyhound defense will come off the field like "Coach its like there are 10 receiviers (all good) and a QB, what do we do.... HA HA

I'll take crest in this one. Statesville will not outscore Crest and honestly I don't the Statesville defense slowing that offense down.

I think most have forgotten at the beginning of the year I said Tater was the best QB in NC regardless of classifications. Tater is a better version of my cousin Lance Camp. Tater really knows how to Takeover a game. His IQ is what I love most. Kid just knows how to operate this qb position.

Last year, Statesville got to see up close and personal how good this Crest team is. Last year experience is key. Statesville was just there a year ago. If we have a turnover free game, this could be epic. Mack Davis probably will be the best back Crest see this year. Kid does everything. Friday can't get here soon enough. Hoping for an injury-free great game

While I think Crest will win, I think Statesville could give them a really good matchup with the chance to win it in the end if they can eliminate turnovers.

Statesville only had one turnover last game but it was a big one with a scoop and score. Turnovers have been Achilles heel and will determine how close this game is. I think this will be one of the better defense Crest has faced all year and matches up athletically better with size and speed than what they’ve faced. Saying all that I still don’t think it matters my hounds will be bringing out the basketballs Crest just too good and Statesville offense not good enough to hang with Crest offense ………Crest by 2-3tds

First- Let me say I was impressed with Statesville's composure, class and approach to the SP game. I can't see everything from where I'm at but they had a good gameplan and executed. #2 is a difference maker. I don't think he requires great play from the OL like SP does for instance...he can make some stuff go on his own with pure speed/quickness and I think he or #3 will get loose once or twice and maybe on Special Teams. Crest is full speed with no new injuries that I've heard about.

With that said- my best guess is Crest wins by 33-35 points. I will say 49-14. #2 and #3 play both ways. That's no beuno for the Crest track meet they are about to attend. Crest is a different animal this year... especially if they are full go with their entire team.

When a Statesville poster said they were down from a few years ago when they was supposed to had a really good team, I was thinking the same margin.

We didn't have 3 turnovers last nite. We had 1 fumble.

This isn’t even close to the Crest team you saw last year
I’m glad you think of you do t turn ball over you have a shot. I honestly do t think you do either way
This offense is on a different level my friend , should have put 50 on KM couple weeks ago , that was supposedly the best defense ever created.
I have said this all year you might hang with Crest for a half but the second half your defense will tore and as my guy SL stares you down by 28
Pick your poison , and for the life of me why do teams still kick / punt to this Crest team. Arrogance or stupidity or some of both
The defense for Crest has stepped up to one of the better defenses around the last month , come on down Greyhounds , you are officially on the clock.
How you bring a crowd with you.

Been 10 games and the other teams have t figured it out
Out kick return has 6 kids that can take it to the house at anytime

Statesville won't be intimidated or scared. We got some DAWGS too. Just know we played in a difficult conference. So playing up is something we're accustomed too. 4 out 5 teams won Friday.
