No I didnt pick that. My prediction is that we lose to Indian River,Va. Its also possible we lose to one or both Rocky Mt and Rose. That aside Northeastern will be back in stride come playoff time and I think will play for the Eastern Cship against WRH assumimg were in opposite beackets. The Eagles will be starting with a new qb under center so the first few games won't be easy imo. Indian River is a state c'ship caliber team, they are very talented. If we manage to beat them in Chesapeake Va then I think we have a great shot at running the table. I think w'ell win our opener against Conley.

Don't buy into that Rose hype. The younger jarman is unproven. They have some issues upfront and in the LB core. I predict with a strong NE running game yall will beat them by 30. Book it!

I think your right about meeting in the eastern final. I know you guys are very talented but I think we have even more talent. Being the more talented team doesn't always guarantee a win as we saw in Raleigh last December against Reidsville

Conley will be a tougher opponent than rose and yall should beat them.

I'm in Pitt. My kid plays for south central. Older son does sports radio broadcasting here. But grew up in NE NC and I follow all those schools up there. I have always loved high school football and will catch a game anywhere of any team.

I also work in Raleigh where alot of water cooler talk is high school football so I know alot about wake county teams. I played high school ball when i was younger started at HC then moved to wake. I coached the HC QB in little league have friends that played on the Bertie championship teams so i keep an eye on what's going on in NENC.

Awesome!!! I think we think alike. I live in Camden County but I'm from Pasquotank County and graduated from Northeastern in 91 with Coach Moore. My daughters both go to Camden. I've become good friends with both Otis up here and John (dogs79). Also friends with black bulldog from WRH. All those guys are great and we always meet up each year. I have a lot of respect for Bulldog Nation and their fanbase. They are very passionate abut their program and they are very supportive of our program here in Elizabeth City. Otis on here is about the most die-hard high school football fan that I have ever met. He travels everywhere to see different teams play and is extremely knowledgeable about so many teams that is ridiculous. I don't even know half as much about high school football as either he or John knows. I'm a big college football fan and I love NC State. I also love our Northeastern Eagles and our coach. For so many years many teams in eastern North Carolina us for granted and for good reason. Now that Coach Moore is at the realms we have turned a corner here and now we are becoming one of the PowerHouse programs in the state. It's only a matter of time before we win a state championship or two. This area is ripe with talent and Northeastern just keeps reloading each year. Nice talkin with you, and appreciate you commenting on this thread. Hopefully you'll get a chance to take in a NHS game this year, maybe even our first game against Conley.

My son actually played on the HC midget football team about 9 years ago for 2 years that's how coach Moore got on my radar. He had those kids so disciplined. They also had great football IQ at such a young age. That's when I found out about his work for the boys and girls club and how he was mentoring those kids in that program. I knew then that NE football was going to do some big things in this state.I admire him greatly. My oldest son is looking forward to interviewing him at the Rose game. He is a great mentor on how to do the right thing for your community and give guidance to kids.

I have enjoyed talking to you guys too. My son is still a junior so my friday nights are booked for a couple years but I guess I can wait. Once he is done I will definitely get back to schools like WRH and NE to catch those teams in action once again. Those 2 schools are ones I try to get to at least once a season.

9-2 is my prediction. Indian River is going to be tough; #6 in 5A rankings in VA. Other than the Edenton game they should run through the NCC once again (48-4 this decade in NCC).

I see Northeastern going 8-3 they will beat everybody in the conference per usual but I see them loosing to Indian River, Rocky Mount, and either Rose or Edenton

I wouldn't necessarily say you guys had more talent. I thought the talent was about even.

I absolutely respect your opinion, but on this particular topic I'd have to disagree. It would've been nice if JR Walker hadn't had to transfer out. Oh what could've been. At the end of the day we took the loss and that's all that matters. We'll just have to wait another yr or two but our time is coming. Best of luck to Reidsville, I'm sure you guys will win the west once again

With Jr Walker its no question you guys would have won. That d line was fantastic.

We have a good coach who has our program moving in the right direction. I'm not sure how we'll do this yr on offense but our defense is going to be really strong. Freshwater and Spellman are going to be a nightmare for opposing qbs. Freshwater is a pre season sophomore All American who was tremendous in the preseason camps, and Spellman #2 is a rising Senior who has multiple D1 offers. Qb play will be a big question mark heading into the opener. I hope we will be just as good as last year but to be honest I'm not sure at this point. I know WRH is strong once again and will have a legit shot at winning it all.

Dh Conley comes to town Friday night. Finally get a chance to see the new qb. This should be a good game and I expect the Eagles to be tested.
 
Geez, how does NE happen to keep getting these highly rated transfers every year?
I used to think that NE was soft with an even softer schedule year in and year out, but times have changed. They are tough. And this year's schedule OOC schedule is a monster. They will have their hands full with DHC and RM, but will have no trouble with Rose. DHC can go blow for blow with them on offense, and RM can score and slow you down on D. But Rose doesn't play a lick of defense, so bag that one for the Eagles. The could be 8-3, but if they end up 11-0, then I'd pick them against anyone in the playoffs.

I know Coach Moore will appreciate reading what you just said. Nice hearing that from someone outside of Northeastern. He has really scheduled up and tried to schedule even better teams this yr but to no avail. Yes we were blessed with some big time transfers, although I am concerned about something I'm seeing. Hopefully I'm just worrying for nothing but I will know in a couple of days. Thanks

I think that Clayton situation was far more messy and had deeper innuendos to get players on the field if that's what you are thinking. I dont see how anyone should tell a kid where they should go to school. If the program and coach are solid than it wouldnt be an issue in my opinion. Now if a coach leaves a school and brings players with him, I would raise my eyebrow at that a bit.

Pulling for you guys tomorrow night against the Conleys daagoob! I can't make it that way in time to catch NE but the Tarboro game will be 8pm so I'm going to catch that one then back to tailgating for South Central Friday if the rain holds out. Don't beat up Conley too bad we want some of that action later in the season. Good luck to you guys!

Thanks Bud, Conley & Northeastern is always a nail biter. I hope our young guys are ready to step up on offense. Defense should be fine
 
DHC can match NE score for score if the defenses were equal. The difference in the teams is that NE's defense is better. At any rate, I wouldn't just assume that NE cruises. I think they'll win, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if DHC won. I see a 42-35 game.

To stop the Conelys you have to stop the QB. Bring pressure all play every play and have a LB look for the screen. NE has the pass rushers at the ends. Conleys QB is going to make some throws but if he is uncomfortable it could spell trouble. I say NE by 2 scores.

If yall can establish a good run game early and keep the conleys offense off the field early on then NE defense can set the tone for the rest of the game. Make things difficult on the Conleys QB and NE gets the W.

I see this game as a coin flip. As a betting man I believe the line would be Conley +3
Should be very close, I believe our qb will struggle early in the season. I hope I'm proved wrong.
