I thought Joey was the qb that year? Or was it 87 and 88?
Joey graduated in 89 I think it was Ken Burnett maybe someone a little older than us can help?

Just funning with you guys you all probably have nicer crap than us there is no economic advantage at all to living in this area other than good phone signal this town caters to tourist you guys be treated better here than us town council can't let no big paying jobs in because we have to keep our Mayberry image if it pays more than certain amount its kept out I'm dead serious but we still love our Bear Football
That's true, Mount Airy could have had The Miller Brewery plant and only had to have the Mayor and city council at that time to approve it, late 1970 or 1980s and no high paying jobs were to come to this town so I think Eden or some town in that area got the plant. I know to this day where the plant was going to go, they had the land picked and ready to buy it. We had 4 or 5 low-paying furniture factories and a dozen or more sock mills and a baby clothing mill plus Proctor Silex. They are all gone today to overseas and we now depend on Mayberry Tourism and still low-paying jobs except Walmart.
Oh, we do still have 1 large sock mill that stayed and doing great. And plenty of motels & restaurants to feed the tourist.

Man I love my Bears! Haven't missed many games maybe 3 since 2006. Ik I get carried away and as a grown man I should know better. But I love HS 🏈. Nothing like it I get to the game early as I love the music teams.warming up the fans coming in and the band marching in. As an MA FB alumni I am spoiled. I can't remember the last time MA had a losing season. Alot of Tradition and Pride here. If I rub you the wrong way it is what it is it's who I am. I am a Bear for life. It is just a HS 🏈 game.......but here we all are you know y'all love it and your team too. Go 🐻!!!!!!!
LOL, there was a place here in Mount Airy called Cat Holler, all houses then. Does anyone remember where that was? All business now and there is a large parcel that runs off that road all the way to behind I think Mayberry Mall is where the Miller plants was too rumored to go.

If I am not at the granite rock by the flag pole in front of the BEAR field House by 7:00 pm I won't be there and I am always on time if I have to be in line at 6:30.

All joking aside I have been posting for 13 yrs, this is the most fun I have had and the least amount of arguing it's my sons senior year, it means a lot!🤣
Eden NC is where Miller went the Brewery closed 3 years ago but now Pedigree has big operation there
