I am getting ready to turn in and just wanted to say good luck to both teams tomorrow night! Safe travels for all of the Mitchel players and fans. I hope both teams have an injury free game. I am taking an 81 year old friend of mine hunting on my farm tomorrow in search of his lifetime hunting trophy. So I probably won’t be back on till around 630 or so tomorrow evening. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgivings too.
All I can say is guys love my Bears hey we are tough on defense let's kick this ball around tomorrow night and see what happens and maybe pull up enough offense to get a win we are good football team that can cause problems
Also this might be a really dumb question, but we’re you all serious about MA not being allowed to have high paying jobs??? Is this kind of an inside joke an outsider wouldn’t get or was you really serious??
It was true, all the mills had influence over the town board and the Town Mayor was high up in one of the sock mills. That was all the talk around town back in those days and it did make sense.

I'm seriouse there has been some great companies tried to role in here over the years I was born and raised right below municipal building on Broad Street I don't hold nothing back to keep those dying hosiery mills alive yes it was I just swing the ole baseball bat to the hard right l travel to other towns who have no tourist attraction they have to make it on there own you take Andy away from this town Mt Airy would starve and I want to ask you how much longer will that last hell after typing this I might try to run myself
I really hope we get good Refs so there is not a flag thrown every other play as last week. Let them play with no nitpicking flags on a call that could have gone either way or thrown by a ref 50 yards away with a Ref 10 yards away with a better view. ! ! !
I would hate to see a loss by a good team blamed on bad calls.
The one thing we’ve learned is we can’t leave it up to the refs. We’ve had two regional finals with horrible calls that cost points.
Yes, we had a terrible crew here last week from what everyone says and even someone posted a thread asking the SMC how bad their refs were because some were here last week and a lot of terrible calls. SMC said they were bad. This poster doesn't post unless something is terribly wrong.

Well, it’s finally Friday. After a week of all sorts of conversation it is time for the main event. I must say it has been a fun time on here.
Now for my thoughts, 2 very good ball teams will square off in a little over 12 hours. While there has been a ton of trash talk and jabs thrown I feel certain I have NO idea about the outcome. I do know whoever wins will have another unbelievable difficult task next week.
If MA slows the running attack from Mitchell can they generate enough passing to stay in the game? Who knows. Can Mitchell slow down the multiple attacks from MA? No one has yet.
Hopefully this wind will slow down

If Mitchell loses, which is a high probability, I may not be the first but I will still be here and congratulate the victorious.

Yeah they were suppose to play September 10th. Would of loved to seen that game. I’m afraid my sons old high school might be in for a long night and then SP will get rolled in the state championship game.

I went to several games this year and they had a awesome season. I believe they were 7-3 barely missing out on the playoffs. My daughter is on the track team there.

Not a joke and not the only "development" activity that the then Mayor killed for Mt Airy. One item I can tell you from first hand experience that he killed. Was very skilled at "studying" things until they went somewhere else.
Don’t know about Mount Airy, but that has been common in smaller towns dominated by one company or industry. Happened for decades in Thomasville. As good as Thomasville Furniture was to the town, they didn’t want any competition for labor. They were already heavily recruiting in Tabor City and West Virginia.
Ironically, as painful as it was to lose manufacturing jobs to China, Thomasville has more manufacturing jobs today than back then. Just in more industries, more highly skilled, and more diverse.

As to the game tonight, as a 4A football coach told my daughter on Wednesday, their is only one team that can defeat Mt Airy in the playoffs, and that team is,,,,,,,,,Mt Airy.
He told my daughter: Mt Airy by 4 touchdowns or more. They are that fast, that strong, that many skilled players and that well coached.
Safe and enjoyable travels to each and everyone and hope both teams come to play there best game of the year.

Well I'm irritated looking more like I won't be going to the game legs mainly left one as always isn't cooperating today using cane just to get around the apartment unless big improvement in next few hours just don't believe I can walk and carry stuff and sit in stands tonight.
