Congratulations to Madien ...that offense is nasty. Proud of my wolverines they payed their heart out and played 2 of the best quarters of football I could have hoped for. It’s hard to play a team as deep and talented as Madien for 4 quarters. May have to come back up and see the Bunker hill game if both teams make it sounds like it will be electric

20 is a good back...really damn good. Those small DBs and the rest of the defense wore him down. One of the small DBs stood him up and took the ball from him but the refs blew the play dead wayyyyy too early or it would have been a 80-90 yard td. 20 got tired though. He had to do more running than he ever has tonight having to run the ball and chase the Hendo skill guys all night. Great football player though.

Polk did play their hearts out. So impressed by Weaver and Polks’ passing game was very very good. Polk always has a good team and it showed last night by giving Maiden all they wanted.
Please know….if you decide to come back and see us again….you and yours would be welcomed with open arms. Congrats to Polk on a fine season…they have a top notch program over there in Columbus…and it showed last night. I enjoyed the heck out of it!😉

@Maiden Creek @GrizzlyDevil It may have been a very costly win for us. FC came out on fire and their defense held us on two huge fourth down plays. One of them was on the 1 yard line, they stood strong. After that though it was a blowout tbh, it was all NE and all this coming w/o who I believe is our best player on offense. We had a big surprise show up in the backfield and he went off. When I say big I mean that in both his size and his play. Our qb was good and our all everything #3 Sutton played spectacular. If we had been at full strength we would’ve won by 50. I’m glad you guys won and I’m looking for more of the same from your Blue Devils this upcoming round. I know it’ll get a lot tougher after that. For our NE Easgles we have our hated nemesis coming to town and this game just became a lot more difficult for us barring everything. I wont be posting on our game but I’m sure @Jamesdavis06 will be. He knows a lot more about things that transpired last night than I do so he may or may not comment on it but I certainly won’t be.
Avery had 255 yard on 38 carries. He played hard the entire game.
Big Red, repectfully, there wasn’t nothing dead about that guy. He ran through Hendersonville’s line pretty easy.
I'm just glad to see all of these coaches show class in thier first round playoff wins...geez...What has happened to showing class? I've seen scores of 68, 77, 60, etc. and they all won by that amount as well. No need to embarrass a teams with those types of scores. Sometimes, those things will come back to bite you.
I will say the 68 that madien scored was perfectly fine .... sometimes you have to actually stop a team from scoring and Polk couldn’t stop Madiens offense. They could have scored again with the backups with just a few seconds left but didn’t. If the backups are in and can score I’m all for that them 2nd 3rd string guys work all year long and deserve a time to shine also.
Those tricky punt plays that Polk ran were fun to watch. The first one burnt us good….went all the way to the one….then they punched it in.
I see that a lot on XP’s or FG….but I don’t recall seeing it on punts before. Good stuff!

Very true on that second string offense we had. One shoe string tackle away from second string scoring and making it 75 points. I'm one of those that believe backup should have just as much of a chance to score as starters it's on the other team to stop them

Big Red, got to disagree with you. Our game was scheduled to be on the NFHS but the camera failed. One of the Randolph County posters gave us a link to listen, so I did that. Meanwhile I pulled up West at Hendersonville on the NFHS and it was like watching TV. The only bad spots were the bottom corners of the end zone. Other than that, it was really clear. Avery got positive yardage nearly every time. Hendersonville's front line struggled with him.

LOL, I wondered how long it would take you to get in on this. Started to say Polk Couty’s Weaver shut down Maiden’s defensive line. I was afraid if I did that you’d show up at the court house, Monday, and file for guardianship of me, then you’d be the father of a seventy year old man.
You're missing the point. He was still GASSED!!!! I was there live. I know what exhaustion looks like. I didn't say they shut him down lol. He had to carry it every play and chase our skill guys too. That's a tall task.
Big Red, I Just don't believe someone can accomplish that much being give out. He does it game after game, both ways. He plays harder than anyone in this conference. He didn't look tired. I may have seen some of the plays from a vantage point as opposed to some who were at the game.
You can play hard and then be gassed. He took plays off when wasn't getting the ball and when he wasn't near the play defensively. It's ok. It's not a knock on him. Just an observation. Heckuva player for sure
Well, thanks for the discussion, Big Red, I enjoyed it. Good luck to you and the Bearcats next week against the tough East Surry Cardinals. I look for a good game between these two. That's nearly 200 miles. Hendersonville is as close to Atlanta as it is Pilot Mountain, NC.
We held Weaver to 89 yds rushing. Proud of our Defense on that.
