Caught us in a stunt with our DT’s and Curtis crashing inside to cover inside gap. Crest guard with a great seal block on linebacker which created the cutback lane. Perfect play call and very smart o-line play by the Chargers in this circumstance.

I think your defense put up good numbers against the lower tier of the conf. Giving you a false hope. Of being a super defense. In other wored. Over rated.
Oddly I feel different. I think their defense played above average especially defending the pass.
We chewed them up on the ground most of it was Tater.
What got them was the interceptions. Period. They were basically one dimensional and our defense was in a word. Good. We have a very talented secondary. That middle of that front seven tightened on up a little bit.
The defense should get a ton of credit. A TON!

Dude are you for real? If you think that then you do not know the game at all. The game stats and game says different. Celebrate your win but be for real. You completed five passes total because your receivers were COVERED. We played mostly man coverage. You scored one defensive touchdown and one special teams touchdown. Your running back actually had seven carries for 74yds but 56 came on one play. Green had one catch and you had two other starting receivers that did NOT have any catches. We threw three first half interceptions and our defense kept us in the game. How many points did you score off those three extra possessions? You guys did not score in the 2nd qtr and only scored on a kickoff return late in the 3rd quarter. You had to go for it on multiple 4th downs and barely made it. The qb didn’t start getting big yards on the keeper until after your kickoff return for td. How many times was Huskey sacked or tackled for loss? How many times were your backs tackled for loss? How many times did your offense actually score? Don’t act like that you guys were doing what you wanted offensively. Be happy, celebrate your win, but at least be honest not delusional. If our defense isn’t good than look at your total yards coming in per game and how many you got against KM. Crest has a good team but not many honest fans.

Whatever. You said a lot of truth but you left some out. Tater had another TD run called back on a bogus call but it doesn’t much matter.
I think your defense is legit. But you can’t dismiss over 300 yards it gave up on the ground.

I’m only asking out of curiosity and I promise I’m not trying to down a kid but I’ve watched a bunch of KM games this season and the qb play in every single game I’ve watched was mediocre at best I wondered often why continue doing things that all year have not been successful without giving the leftie speedster or 12 a shot

One game doesn’t define a team. Georgia 21 has one of the best defenses in years. Bama gashed them in SEC Championship. KM has a great defense and will show it in playoffs as well. Crest just happens to have a great offense. And they’ve showed up 10 out of 10 times.

I agree that we need to give the running qb a shot. I don’t think that he got a real opportunity to compete for job. It was a two man competition but neither of those guys are it if we trying to win a championship. The soph QB has potential but he really needs to commit to strength and conditioning to help his athleticism. Personally I think that we should add a tight end and run Wildcat and play defense than continue the way we have. We have a ton of good backs. Our OC is just as much to blame. He is trying to run a system designed for a big time qb talent and we don’t have that. I feel bad for the kid at qb and his family. Some of the things our “adult” fans are yelling and posting about a 17yr old kid is pretty disgusting. It’s affecting the other players also.

I have no issue with what you posted. You are more matter of fact about the game. Some of your comrades showing up and saying our defense is not good or overrated when the game did not show that is trying to create a narrative. Crest is a really good and balanced team, much better than last year. I thought your o-line showed up big overall in pass protection and Huskey has improved alot from last year. I seen when Green signaled to him prior to the snap on the touchdown pass and put the ball where it needs to be. I absolutely love Cam the safety. I think Crest cakewalks until the game Dudley. I think besides KM, Dudley is the only other team I think can match the athleticism of your receivers. Right now your QB is your x-factors. He is alot to deal with.

What was that other impressive stat. Only 79 allowed all year. The qb didn't start getting yards till after the KO return ? Did super d quit ?
Yep I thought the refs were too involved but I am sure that was due to the jv game. I think both teams just took a couple of things away from each other. Our o-line has been the strength of our team all but it was horrific. We really miss our center, he is the qb of the o-line. It also helps that he is 6’3 300 plus right in the middle of our line. A lot was Crest creating problems for us but a lot was us also not executing well. One of our o-lineman told me that Ashbrook had the best d-line but Crest had the quickest d-line and that quickness was a problem all night for them. It was a Great crowd and great atmosphere. I love the juice that Crest brings to big game. I really do hope you guys represent well in playoffs.

Was not impressed by the KM defense
WR we’re not really covered I would say 6 and 3 got behind them a couple of times the throw was off target slightly out of bounds.
Passes on target we out 50 on you , consider yourselves fortunate.

That’s because you don’t understand defensive back play or maybe football at all but I digress.
The reason those throws were off is because the corners squeezed the wideouts to the sideline, sat in the receivers hip pocket, and used the sideline as an extra defender. That’s what you teach corners to do. What Huskey did was throw it deep and to the outside shoulder so if his man can’t get it then no one can get it. Those misses were absolutely the right play by Huskey. That shows that he has been taught well by whoever the qb coach is that he is working with. If Huskey tries to throw those deep misses more inbounds then KM would have definitely picked it off because their guys had inside position on the receiver. People like you who don’t know the game see overthrown passes out of bounds on what you think is a beat db. People like me see good pass coverage by the defense and good quarterback IQ by Huskey.
Your right Sd. People like me just see . A super d giving up points. I don't understand how it happens. Perfect position on pass coverage. Great gap position on run defense. And the visitors scoreboard keeps going up. Must be magic. Ordinary football don't work like that. Please explain more for us ordinary folks. That don't understand the complexities of the game

I think KMs secondary did an awesome job but the threat of the Crest passing game and reputation can open up the running game.. Crest makes u defend every inch of the field and KM makes you defend 20 yds of the field..
My favorite part was the KM QB talking insane amounts of trash in the pregame to one of our Sophomore DB's. Only to have that Sophomore DB pick him off twice!! Never seen a player so cocky and be so terrible.
It doesn’t make sense though. Agree about Crest but KM has too many athletes for an offense like that. It was hard to watch last night. I’ve coached youth football so by no means am I an expert but I saw so many opportunities for KM to try something different and they didn’t. The wildcat was there, the quick slant had multiple openings and the flats were wide open so many times. I was very confused on the mentality. Crest may have shut it down too but to never switch it up was mind blowing.
He was yapping too. I mean they all were but he was yapping right at the kid who buried him.
That QB has balls of steel. He came to the 50 to warm up sat his helmet down turned around and went all Stone Cold.
I got no problem with it. I thought it was cool and it’s what’s supposed to happen. But when my man went 65 the other way Brutal.

And don’t forget I mentioned earlier in thread that Crest would wear down that super D , but SD told us they platoon the Dline and conditioning would not be an issue. Won’t get tired.

BUT technically Shutdown was right, no one so far shut the passing game down as much as KM did so they did one thing yall havent seen yet.......however they forgot to mention those infidels (I mean Chargers) can run the ball too...
