Tough loss for Dudley, but Hickory just took what was given to them. It was the same slant routes over and over and over again lol. If you're not going to stop it, then keep doing it. Also that big #34 for Hickory got what he wanted out there.

The decision to not attempt a FG at the end of the 1st half loomed very large as the game went on… Dudley didn’t seem to get their passing game going all night

Frazer stuns Ali!! Hickory 42 Dudley 41!! Observations: I was in the pressbox allgame for Statesville/Crest. Someone said that Crest had the best offense in 3A in state. Not so based on what I saw tonight from Hickory. The Red Tornadoes were a brilliant offensive machine that kept Dudley off balance all night. Body blows to a Dudley defense that could not see or stop the punches. So another Western Foothills conference team heads to the state championship game. Anyone see a trend here?
Hickory’s quarterback and offense have been superb all year long. Questionable offensive play calling by Dudley at times. Dudley defense also looked fatigued in the 4th quarter. Possibility that so many big blowouts by the Panthers during the season impacted their defense some in this game. Hickory has to be the favorite next week in Chapel Hill. Congrats to the Red Tornadoes!

A lot of uncharacteristic overthrows. Even the TD in the endzone by Dudley looked to be overthrown but the receiver made a great catch.
Watched in NFHS, what a game. I really enjoyed it. Good luck to Hickory next week!!
Dudley also didn’t commit to the run game early enough in this contest. Hickory absolutely could not stop the run in the first half. Not sure why it took Dudley so long to recognize that. Sometimes you have to keep it simple.
