Bunker Hill just keeps winning…yeah…sometimes it’s ugly….but it’s still a W. Their football program has done what most can’t….gotta give them credit….look back at their records…say 10 years ago and further…it’s truly incredible what the Bears have accomplished. I know you already know this…but maybe some others that read this… don’t.

I believe they can win this conference ….seriously
…but it ain’t gonna be easy though…it never is.

Yeah it's off of the road across from the DMV. The pond is still there but it's private now for the residents of that neighborhood they built. Probably mile and half 2 miles from my house by roads

I know it well….the slide is gone but the rock structure out in the middle is still there….no diving board though.

I think Bunker Hill has talent. But I think they overrated their QB. He's good but not a star. RB is a stud but breaking a hip as a sophomore would make me nervous. But healthy he is great. Their defense in my opinion was horrible don't see a huge improvement there. And honestly wasn't super impressed with offensive line. They really didn't overpower or dominate opponents last year. Overall at the moment they will be the favorites. But things have a way of changing before season start.

I don't know, AMD. I thought the Bunker Hill quarterback was a standout player and a leader. Granted, playing the Wolves isn't like playing the Blue Devils but against us, he played hard, meaning he left everything on the field. Don't know if it's the case with him, but most kids around here don't have the resources to get highly specialized training to increase speed, strength, agility and precision. I wish they did. I'm sure some colleges will be reaching out to him (the BH QB).

OH,HEY ! I did too. When you said it was near the DMV office, meaning the Highway Patrol headquarters it made me realize I had family in that area, once, well, maybe more than once... If you take the old US 321 towards Newton, just a couple of roads to the right before you get to the DMV, turn right, cross the railroad track and just a short distance out there on the right is where they, is where they, is where they, uh lived. Just wondered if I might be eligible for membership having had very close family who once resided in that neighborhood. Ain't it a small world.

Like I mentioned earlier even if u have great skill players don't matter if defenses are going through your line (to quote the great late Tom Brown) like shit through a goose 🤣🤣🤣

Well here comes Burke for real and his 2 cents ha ha. Glad to see the Catawba valley is getting lots and lots of comments, most of which are entertaining from this guys and that’s guys rants to Maidens recruits moving in the neighborhood and all that fun stuff.

Early this week and I missed it, was the Bunker Hill track kick off. MAN!!! That meet musta took ALL DAY haha. Several schools Around 100 girls and 100 guys running the 100 meters alone. 200 meters took a while too. Well, from the results it appears East Burke is middle of the pack in speed, Bunker Hill and Bandys have the speed, Newton I think has one standout, Sifford. Don’t know if he’s the RB or WR but don’t let that guy out in open space with the ball. Thompson from BH got speed but will he finish top 3 in 100 and 200. But another one of them all and it appears he’s fastest in the conf unless someone or a few people didn’t show up to the meet and that’s East Burkes KJ Byrd. Top finisher in 200M at 23.03. That’s pretty fast for around here and he’s got another year. He pulled a fast one on Maiden in that game with a long TD run and Maiden couldn’t get an angle on him or catch him in that play. No relays were ran that day or they didn’t show up in the ncmilespilt page. Shot/disc- EB got the boys for the job. So this May y’all get out to the conf meet. You’ll get your moneys worth. Big shootout between EB BH and Bandys for the crown.

After all, that’s the football boys in action showing their athletic abilities. With some cross country kids helping out. . Hey, look at it as a combine. Really good way to put it- Combine. Ones to keep an eye on: Byrd and Fraley, of EB. Kolby Byrd of EB, Sifford of Newton Conover, Thompson of BH. And of course most of Bandys skill set players they’ll be running too. Not sure if Maidens WR will be out on the track, prob be gearing up for college football. I mainly mention the boys on the track that will be returning this fall in the pads and helmets. Any more conference track mentions lay it out guys. It’s the CValley combine ha ha.

MC, it’s funny you said that. Saw a high school friend at Walmart, today. She told me about driving home from Valley Hills Mall when she got behind some other cars, and how the lead car was going so slow and there were so few places to pass on the Startown Road, and how infuriating it was to just creep along.

She went on to say that once the car turned onto Linwood Dr. she realized it was me.
This Dear lady I know said before discovering who it was, she was hoping I would run in the river when I crossed over it, among other things. She finally said "It looked like you might have been doing 25 (MPH) and I think it would help you, me and everyone else if you sped-up or just pulled over and let the world go by".

Normally, if it's someone I know and they've got me cornered and I can't do my gasping routine or coughing fit I simply apologize and ask them to please excuse me and I reassure them I'll be more considerate next time. But you know, my plantar fasciitis has been kicking my back-side all day and I felt like saying something. So I told her I drove a lot faster than than she might have thought and what she saw was the Wagon Wheel effect, such as the wheel going one way but looks like it spins backwards. She mumbled something about not knowing I'd become a horses@$$ and went on. Maybe I'd better change the high school friend to high school acquaintance. Hey Now !

No confirmation but I believe we are playing watauga again. Very little change ever happens to our schedule because of the local schools in our county that are non conference

I will say….staying in county for non-conference games is strongly encouraged by our school system….at least that’s what I’ve been told.

I don’t think it’s mandatory though….just strongly encouraged. I understand the logic behind it…. But it would nice…as a fan….to see some different teams sprinkled in there from time to time.
