Ok you Catawba Valley Crusaders I got a Combine… ahheehmmmm Track n Field recap of the East Burke meet yesterday that I was not able to attend:
Avery Fraley BURNED the boys in the 100 and 200 Meters. This kid could make for a nasty WR with that speed. CVAC teams that were there were Lincolnton, West Caldwell, West Lincoln and well obviously East Burke. West Lincoln showed speed. Had guys finish behind Fraley in the 100 but…they were seniors. Ole Rebs might not have much in the speed dept next year unless they just have guys that don’t do track. Could be the case I dunno.
Ransby of West Caldwell is a speedy dude, not sure what he plays but he’s a Jr. Draughn was there as well. No speed or strength in events much but they got to 4th round somehow lol. Not much was shown out of Lincolnton, might show up at the big meet. EB with depth in shot disc.
What will hurt East Burke is there a lack of distance runners. I will fill you guys in on the rest of the schools later, but as of right now, it might be a tough contest between East Burke and bandys for this track title, along with revealing what the skill positions will look like.

Track should be great for the football players if they are not playing Baseball
True but there’s been times not many but times h there be guys out on the diamond that’d be way better at track than they was at baseball. But your only in high school once so do what your passionate bout is what I’d tell the kids. If there’s any beast of an athlete kinda guys like Leon Johnson 92’ Freedom or Jake Sorus 20’ North Lincoln you can and should do both and buddy did both these young men blew both sports out the water when they wasn’t in the pads and helmets
Track Meet in Maiden. Overall, looks like Newton and Bunker Hill got the overall most speed. Lots of 100 meter dashes from both teams under 12 sec. Scary. However Avery Fraley has the top overall and then Bunker Hills man. Better than Fraley in the 100 by a millisecond but not in 200. Also keep in mind Fraley and KJ Byrd got the verticals. Over 6 feet high jumps.
Appears…all EB needs is a QB. These 2 will be hard to guard in stride and in the endzone in the high throws.

I stand corrected on something and looked at meet results too fast. Culliver of Maiden with fastest time so far in 100 meters. Hey makes sense he was top receiver in conference. Good hands but gotta have speed to get open in many game situations so in this “combine” track meet he showed one of the reasons why he’d get open. Wouldn’t be a “combine “ thing for him cause he’s a senior and this thread is bout early outlook for fall of 23’

They have to be able to catch and track the ball also. I have seen player fast as hell but couldn't make catches and RB that actually couldn't seem to take a handoff or pitch.
Micheal sifford is a WR of Newton. But who knows after the year ends, Newton will probably have a big exodus of players over the summer. Just my opinion 🤣🤣
That is what hurt EB even if the throw someone has to catch the ball!!
Off topic but I wish kids stay in their on area no switching schools. EB don't have any players as I know on the football team that did not go to the EB middle school. Not like other schools jumping around from other middle schools that was not in their feeder program just a thought!!
I heard they’re QB did not go to EB middle. He wasn’t trying to be a backup to Draughns man. I can’t blame em. If anyone has truth to that do share. He’s in middle of baseball and his senior year so irrelevant to this coming season I’d say
At this point just have open enrollment. These kids are going to go where they want to go to school. There's always loopholes for them to get there. Might as well except it's going to happen and be open about it
Never heard that before but that might have happened EB was so bad before Coach minor got to the program, He has had them now for three years now. Seen when coach was at Foard they put up 50 and 60 points on EB and beat Daughn bad for two years!! So far the kids love the program at EB now!! So far no one has left the school hope than keeps happening!!
Draughn has had a good team for a few years now and I anticipate another deep run this fall

East Burke currently leads the baseball standings at 4-1. Maiden is 4-1 as well but their only conference loss was to East Burke.

I channeled my inner @Lincolnton today. I was speeding as always and guy behind me wasn't happy with me only going 10 mph over the limit. Was throwing his hands up, so I decided to slow down to the exact limit of 45mph. I guess only difference people are probably less likely to confront me over it than you 🤣🤣

Good job, AMD. Drivers like him think they can intimidate you into speeding up more and more. They want you to speed so they can speed, and since you're in front you're running cover for them.
If you come to a portion of the highway marked for passing, ease over towards the fog line and give them a chance to pass. If they can and do not, then you know they're not in too big of a hurry.
If you're turning left and have the green light with oncoming traffic being too close to safely turn, some will do the same thing, Throw up their hands and blow the horn. I honestly believe drivers like that would not be care one bit if you had an accident. They'd be the first to say "He should have waited".
