Dogs79 yea of course so as I stated we are battle tested 1pt game over Jacksonville 2pt game over WRH and a close one last week these guys are hungry and wanna win and find ways to do it. Size doesn’t scare them neither does the moment. I’m more than confident in this team it’s more so the coaches that I question. Hopefully they are ready for the moment and coach to flat out win the ball game.
I truly believe ED pulls this out. Not that we’re any better than our opponents, but the sense of having to prove something is what’s pushing these kids to do their best. They had the Eastern Championship won last year and it was taken from them in the last minutes of the game. That was a gut punch.
I’ve personally talked to some of the kids and they seem very humble about their situation. They seem focused and prideful. The heart and will to win these kids play with will be the difference maker I believe. It showed last week against Randleman.

Dogs79 I’ve never not one time seen a coach get on the field and make a play not sure if you have but I haven’t.... That being said the players are the reason they are in the position that they are in... Any ED fan that watch last season round 4 game could easily see how flustered the coaches were... pound the middle pound the middle even when it wasn’t there... they couldn’t adjust and didn’t have the plays in line to adjust the players don’t scare me coaching does you have to coach to win last year and from years past they haven’t I mean for once I’d love to see them put it all on the line
i know. im just joking with you because you brought the great Barry Sanders into the conversation.
i personally think it comes down to good players AND good coaches. neither one can win without the other. sure you have to have good players, but without good coaches to develop that raw talent, they would never shine.
Great talent has never done anything without coaching. On the other hand I've seen many teams that at first blush don't look talented but execute and win just because they know how. That's coaching.

Guys this sucks but work threw in a mandatory Saturday. I have to get up at 5 in the morning after a three hour drive back from ED; I may not be able to make it

Joey price had a team every year a complete team yea he called the plays but his players made it happen it’s the players that make it happen... end of that debate
Debating making this trip to see the Black Knights in their attempt to bring a championship back to Davidson County ("DC stand up"- got tired of hearing guys from Duplin County in college go on and on about "DC" in the years that JK and Wallace were making trips to the state championship game only to come up short against another Davidson County school-Thomasville..) Hoping that Davidson County can continue to have success over Duplin County.. but with that being said Its hard to feel confident about this one. East Duplin is battle tested this year- with the exception of maybe 4 games- Friday nights for North were exhibitions for the black knight faithful as there wasn't really any doubt on the outcomes. I think the past experiences of being in the CPC- and meeting teams such as Scotland, Charlotte Catholic, and East Forsyth in the playoffs recently could be used for this current team- those programs are cream of the crop- any classification. As talented and dominant as ED has been- I just don't see how they could stack up to those teams. Also- ive read on the thread where fans are complaining about North being 3a/4a status.. I say be lucky that this is 2017 and not past years (maybe with the exception of 2016) because those Black Knight teams would've dominated 2aa and i dont think it would've been particularly close.
If I were a coach, I would sure be afraid of Johnny not blocking the guy he has been told in practice all week to block, or afraid of Michael jumping offside when it's 3rd and 4, or Larry not using the technique he has been taught when defending a wideout that just ran by him for a late 4th quarter touchdown.
The coaches know their personnel better than anyone sitting in the bleachers. I would guess that no coach calls plays or formations thinking they won t work. That is true at every school, not just ED. If ED d oesnt win Friday night, it will not be because they aren't prepared or not able or willing to make adjustments. I've seen enough football in my time both from the bleachers and the sideline to be able to identify a well coached team and trust me when I say that ED is well coached in all three areas.
Easy to be an arm chair QB on Friday nights during the game or a message board all star after the game when you don't know everything that goes into it before the game.

After looking online, did I see correctly that the old home side at ED has a press box as well....if so, does the visiting team use it for film, etc.? I know ND has had a radio network in the past...I would presume they would set up over in that press box if that is the case and they attend.
Says the guy who lives on the board posting. My opinion has the same weight that your many posts have had- take it how you would like. Was stating my feelings on the matchup just as you have several times. We all know the game will be decided Friday night. Not exactly sure what about my opinion grinded your gears- but Good Luck to your Panthers on Friday Night
Hey, I’m pulling for ED. I always pull for Duplin County and our other local teams at this level.
I’d rather pull for my neighbors and people I know than for some school way off that I don’t know anyone.

I believe I seen where it is 45.00 for the ride and for ticket to the game, and is leaving school at 3:00, was in for this, but think we are going to head out around 2pm, want to get down there earlier...I would imagine that there would be as many buses as needed based on ticket sales....
Heard it is $45 that includes the game ticket. That is a real good deal considering you don't have to drive to the game and back (Slightly over 6 hours)...I am sure they will make a stop on the way down and back for snacks or fast food. It said bus leaves school at 3 pm meaning it will arrive to ED around 6:30/6:45. They are taking a charter so no worries on speed limitations by those darn activity buses. Plus charters are rather comfortable.
East Duplin wins this one and it will be by a larger margin than last week.
Yeah, ok. Randleman lost to Ledford, who we beat twice and the games weren't as close as the scores by any means.
Yep. We're better than Randleman, which is why I predict a close game win or lose.
Looking at your schedule... Ledford is the only half assed decent team you played all year.
Lost to a really good Mt. Tabor team and whipped Davie County that took Page to overtime!!
I know people at Davie High. Davie went 5-6 and wasn't any good this year. (their words)

Some around these parts know how good Mt Tabor is year in and year out.
Not sold on Davie and the ND conference schedule was pretty weak. Yes, I know not their fault.
Same argument could be made about the ECC this year. Outside of ED and WRH, the conference was not that strong. The Davie win for ND is comproable to the SWO win for ED. Big win for ED was at Jacksonville out of conference. One could argue that the wins over Jville and WRH are better than any ND win and helped ED in the Maxpreps rankings.
Personally I don't think there is that big of a difference when comparing the schedules when looked at in totality.
Blacknightnut that’s your opinion we played Ledford third game of the the year when we gave up 105 points first 4 games. We started about 8 or 10 kids that we’re sophomores or have not played varsity football it took time to play and we were a lot better st the end of the season. I hope you were better team to at the end. Pluse Just to let you know we droped a pass wide open in the last seconds to win the game 15 yards nobody near him. Good luck Friday you will need it.
Can go back and forth all day we want know who is going to win till it’s over there will be two really good football teams hitting the field Friday night everybody that’s knows about these two teams know it’s gonna be a fight to the end regardless who wins it will have to be earned from start to finish it want be handed to them. Both teams are really good at what they do.
SWO is playing an Eastern Championship Game Friday night. Davie is 5-6 and sitting home. Not quite the same, bud.
