I would like to see the games played at the high school. Rotate east and west sites each year. Better atmosphere than playing in a huge almost empty stadium.
Years ago FH played Shelby at Shelby and no one within 200 miles gave FH a chance. It was a great game and even better ride back to Marshville. That is why we play the game.
Again, every year this same thread starts. Your coach will never ever schedule Mallard Creek, Chambers or Myers Park. He knows what a train wreck it would be for Shelby. I have a suggestion, schedule Gardner Webb, make it an in county rivalry.
You will not find many 1A - 2A QB's getting offers. Most of those will go to 4A and maybe 3A schools where passing the ball is number one, running the ball is number two. There are many qualities that coaches will look for and total yards and TD's are just two. Most recruiters first stop is...
They would crush you. Don't compare a September game with a lot of substitutions to a December game with SC 4A and 5A power schools very limited substitutions. Hear this same lunacy from some Shelby fans every year about this time.
This is not something new. Lack of participation has been occurring for about the last ten years, becoming worse each year. At a nearby 2-A high school that used to be a state power there would be 100 to 120 plus kids showing up for varsity-jv combined. Now you might get 60. You might think...
Lack of interest in football by students. TBI has made parents say no to football. This is seen at most schools. The lack of participation has caused some schools to drop JV football, and some dropped football all together. There are exceptions, but they will see it sooner or later too.
Absolutely no one knows how long this pandemic will last. Could it become worse? I'm certain this realignment distance was a huge factor, considering the stands might be filled with parents only.
With all this transferring here and transferring back to there, NC high school football/basketball needs to hold a two day draft at the end of every season. Transferring to other schools for athletics is nuts, and parents giving up parental rights to a relative so their son can legally play FB...
