What are your thoughts and predictions for this game?

Hard fought game tonight. South Stokes should have a good year. They have a good QB, good speed in the backfield and a good receiving core. Their line looks the part and they played well.

East took the first quarter led on a 6 yard touchdown run by Jolly, botched snap on the extra point and the kicker runs in the two point conversion.

A ton of flags tonight against both teams.

South scored in the second quarter for a half time score of 8 - 6. After a scoreless 3rd quarter East puts together a 91 yard drive on the back of Javeon and take a 15 - 6 lead. Then the defense forced two interceptions to finish the game off.

Sloppy football at times. East may be able to move the ball down the field through the air more than on the ground. The O line is young and nicked up. If the line play becomes more steady this will be a really good Cardinal team. The D was sound tonight. They did a great job playing fundamental football and wrapping up.

Onto Surry Central who should also be improved this year. Good luck the rest of the South.

my picks...

Asheville by 6... Tough First game for the cougar coach to try out the spread. If the officiating is not too bad the cougars should win this.

Reynolds by 7...I don't know much about W Forsyth but the Rockets have been hyped to be the best team in the MAC so they should win this one.

Enka by 7...One of the few games the Jets will have a chance to win

Roberson by 3...Roberson should never lose this game but they find a way. Will this year be different?

McDowell by 10...RSC always has a few athletes but I think McDowell sneaks one out here

Erwin by 1...Davidson Day is a very good private school coming off a undefeated season. This will be a very tough 1st week game for my Warriors.

West has broke-in a nice new QB in Junior D. Latham and they have a very stout Defense. Marcus Caldwell was great: No lie, Simmons had them as a 2pt underdog.??? Not sure if ACR got a 1st down in the first quarter. Cudos to Bakers Dozen!

I believe a lot of CPC teams lost some great players from last year... to me it's a toss up between 4 schools.

2. West Forsyth (led by all underclass men KJ Henry, Marcus Caldwell, McMillion, Brinkley & unproven QB Latham who went 11-0 on JV last year.
3. Reagan (Always Good) great Coaching
4. Mt. Tabor(Mystery team always talented)
5. Davie(program has fallen off the past 2 years and this community is use to winning 9/10games a year: a hungry fan base)
6. Reynolds( Making improvements Good Coaching)
7. Parkland(not sure they're in the conference this year but they have a super coach... Will drop to 3A)

Should be a good one in Ledger tonight. Heard WW has a huge line and a new offense. The Mountaineers are breaking in lots of new faces after losing 16 seniors. Only 6 seniors on this years team so the first few games will be a learning experience for some.

Well week 1 is here, this what all us fans been waiting for. I don't know much about Franklin besides they a run first team. Does any one know how many starters they return? AHS looked good on opening drive vs Murphy scrimmage scoring in four plays, and looked better at Daniel on Friday which is usually a good team in SC 3a ball.

The Swain seniors went for the solid maroon uniforms. (I would have worn the gray pants. Maybe that wasn't an option. )

Rain can put a damper on anything. Hickory lenior area looks to be wet and/or will be. Any updates?
