Grimsley vs Hough 12/6 Rd 4

Especially this year? I’m not so sure about that one. Wasn’t Grimsley just tied 21-21 with Southeast a weeks ago before pulling away? Dudley beat them 49-0.
Hough’s biggest strengths? It’s hard to choose just one. Their interior offensive line is very strong. All five starters are but the middle is where they have an advantage on Grimsley. Their speed and physicality on defense is also a strength. Very solid running game with three very good wideouts this year, I really like number 7. 7 is a do it all play maker and Evans number 8 is their big tall deep threat. I think the balance of their offense this year will get them over the hump.
To be fair Grimsley beat southeast 49-0 the first matchup and then scored 37 unanswered after the tied it up so I think that was just a case of playing twice..I see your point though. Yeah this hough team seems like a monster, and they seem determined to beat Grimsley this time. I think the winner of this game wins the State Championship

Grimsley vs Hough 12/6 Rd 4

This ain’t 2000- 2016 though. Dudley knows they’d get the work the past few years, and especially this year. Big difference between the top of 3A and 4A. To get back on topic can anyone give insight into Hough and biggest strengths and weaknesses, I’ve got a good idea but want to hear it from people who have seen them play in person
Played them twice. Throwing and getting them out the box would be your best opportunity. Definitely got to mix it up on the offensive side. If they figure out you can't stop the run, they will RPO you all the way down the field. O Line is really big, but not very mobile. Stunts on the DL and make them find the blocks. None of this will work if you don't have the Jimmy & Joe's. Northwestern (Rock Hill) had a really good game mixing it up against them.

Kinston At Whiteville

Come on JK yall get it done up there in Elizabeth City so we can have a rematch!
Don’t get it mixed up, I’m pulling for kinston first! An ECC eastern final is something we haven’t seen since Wallace and JK last met, or maybe it was SWO in the mix, either way I need it once again!

I think whiteville and Kinston will be a great matchup! I hope whiteville isn’t undermining this Kinston team just because of their recent years, if so they’ll be in for a rude awakening.

He does an outstanding job. He has to put a lot of time into this. You have to respect that. I know I do!

We eating at Texas Roadhouse again? You get ole @Chopper747 to show up I’ll buy his!
Yes sir , yourself, @oldway55 , @dogs79 . I got you guys, this is my treat, y’all just leave the tip

JK vs NE

If you watched Northeastern play this season on a weekly basis and then you went and took in a JK game you’d understand. Im just being honest. My post isn’t meant to be sarcastic, I wish more people would just express their true thoughts and not try and appease the other posters. I know quite a few DC posters up here that feel the way I do.
Ok, so basically you were measuring JK off of how Northeastern looks? Then I would have to ask, what do Northeastern looks like to you?

Kinston At Whiteville

This man hates Whiteville so bad. Still sour from us taking his beloved coach Bob Lewis years back.
😂😂 I hate whiteville for what they did to us 3 years ago in the playoffs and last year in the regular season. But 2 years ago in pre season scrimmages they threw in the white towel😏. Love what whiteville brings to football, good culture, and good school. If my tigers aren’t in the eastern final and whiteville are, ill be rooting for them.

Grimsley vs Hough 12/6 Rd 4

From 2000 to 2016, Dudley is 14-3 against Grimsley.

From 2016-2021, Grimsley hasn't wanted anything to do with Dudley.....
Of course the past 3 years, its easy to say it Dudley doesn't want smoke, but its been Grimsley who ducked out after 2016.... and just now is acting like the past 60 years never happened...

Playoffs

^^I also, have seen both teams play at the beginning of the season, middle, and end. 2 State Championship programs. Weddington is a great team but like any team out there…hey guys…sorry to tell ya, they have flaws. Pretty good defense, disruptive front 4! Nasty, Fast & Physical! Defensive backs on Weddington are by far the weakest group on the field. Can easily be attacked all night through the air by quick game. EF offensively, this group will be the best if not, one of the best offenses Weddington has seen all season & vice versa. Bryce Baker is a well oiled machine but he CANNOT give points to the defense like he has the past 2 weeks. Weddington’s offense is average at best. Very Surprised their QB only has 1 D2 offer as a senior on a team like that with that much exposure. 6’5, proven state champion, shows control over the offense. It’s mind boggling but I’m sure they will roll in once the season ends in a few weeks. I Truly don’t believe they have a player that can single handedly take over this game on offense. But EF’s defense has been if not, historically bad this year. Eager to see Weddington’s receivers vs EF db’s. Ef’s defensive backs are the weakest group on that unit but the defense as a whole tends to have that “keep bending, we’re almost about to break” mentality lol. EF’s offense will keep them in this game. Simple. They have to! there is no other choice lol. EF will have to make this a shootout. I can’t stress this enough, East must get their 3-star WR #11 going early unlike past weeks. Playcalling will be very interesting to see. Throughout the game he seems to disappear, don’t understand it. Unlike some people on here like I said earlier, I have seen both teams play multiple games throughout the season. EF has a chance, this is why we play the game. Weddington must get east out of the way quick, jump on them and take their heart. Go for the Kill early coach! Something that Mooresville failed to do. If this EF team goes on the road 2 hours away in 28 degree weather & linger around throughout the 3rd or 4th I truly believe East will win in a close one. I have it 38-33 whoever wins.
Bryce has got to play well to get his NIL money.

If NE can't stop the run. I'll take JK 14+
I mean this in the most respectful way, if NE’s defense doesn’t live up to the hype it’s going to be a longgggggggg night. Going back to the smash mouth football, yes west craven was an above average team, but they play through the air, something north eastern sees a lot in their schedule not to mention at practices. It’s going to come down to how much we can defend the pass and how well they can not only defend the run but also withstand the aggression and physicality of our O line and blockers.

Kinston bt 21

it looks like it did 40 years ago except for a big scoreboard that runs commercials

40 years ago there were no concrete bleachers on the home side. Several upgrades all around the stadium that he must not be aware of.

That whiteville environment is something else to play in and this is coming from experience..But Kinston is not gonna be able to stop the run whatsoever but I do feel like they score at least 3 times…so give me whiteville 42-21 over Kinston
i agree. A game at whitevilles stadium is not something I’d want for my tigers, from past experiences.

Corvian @ Eastern Randolph

We’ll see when they meet the likes of Eastern Randolph, Starmount, Murphy, Mitchell, Mountain Heritage & the defending Champs Mount Airy..

Maybe the teams are not as good as you have mentioned. Maybe they are…🤷‍♂️

All we know for sure is “We don’t know nothing about that East Randolph team”…

I really thought you were a good poster. But there you go using that word clown.
I bet if we looked hard enough awwwwwshuxxxxpawwwww and mrmannnnnnn are hiding somewhere back there
Dude you’re crazy. You threw every jab you could when i mentioned a month ago what this Corvian team did last year in basketball and i said dont be surprised to see them do the same thing in the playoffs in football. It was a simple statement that i believed based on where this team was from and the manner they were destroying teams. And yes you had a few disparaging comments ridiculing South Stokes, Corvian and the message itself. So here we are and i could care less about who you think i am. I have no reason to change names or have a gazillion handles on here.

Millbrook Brawl

Not to defend the parent at all because they were completely wrong. But the football post game has become a spectacle in itself. How many times this weekend did we see teams fighting post game with this flag planting stuff? Or coaches fighting? Fans fighting? So this parent attacking a coach is not some isolated event. Football is very emotional especially post season as many are playing their last games and many see football as their ticket to a better life. NO other sport even comes close to the emotional impact football has on players, coaches, fans, and parents. So we have to better prepare for this stuff emotionally.

-To me this is on the school officials. You were fully aware you were playing an playoff game on the road and could possibly lose. You send an officer or security to the coaching staff and officials prior to the final play to ensure both staffs and officials leave the field safely. Also set the expectations with parents/players that we don't want to lose but if we do lose with grace and humility. Attacking a coach is unacceptable and the person should be arrested. Parents have to understand that coaches hurt too very badly after these loses. They are people too, but they cant just punch every kid, asst coach or player that made a mistake or made them mad. So parents must understand that too.

-The parents trying to protect their player and build them up did more harm in attacking a coach than they can even imagine. Now your child is identified as a problem child with problem parents. This will stick with them. NO coach wants them on their team. Give me the supportive quiet parent every day. Everyone use a 24 hour cool down period after games. No communication with parents and no communication with coaches until 24 hours after the game. This helps put things in perspective. Parents never communicate with a coach after an emotional game or loss. NEVER.
After the game both teams went to their respected endzones and met as a team. Millbrook players then went to the visitor locker room to change. As they left the lock room to head to the bus is when it all happened. There was law enforcement there as well as Hoggard staff. It all happened so fast and there was really no way to stop it or predict it unless you do not allow the family around the kids as they transition from the field to the bus. Many kids and family were visiting with no issues, then it happened. Within a few mins there was 40 cops there. I am sure there were arrests.
