Wallace @ East Duplin

Question for Sportscribe. Assuming the winner of this game wins out what would be the highest seed they could get? Princeton and Northeastern are not going to get beat but this game will boost either teams strength of schedule. You seem to know the way these brackets work fairly well. And JK guys I know y'all still in the mix. Just wondering

Not Sportscribe, but the highest seed I see the winner of this game getting is a 3/4 (assuming they win the final week). Loser will be in the 10-12 range.

I’m not scribe either but I think if WRH wins out they would get #1 in east with soc being higher than Princeton and NE. If ED wins out probably 3 or 4.

I think there is an outside shot if WRH wins out, they could possibly get as high as #2. Reason being is they play ED and JK who have a combined 14-2 overall record the last two weeks. Northeastern has games against teams with a combined 7-9 record and should win both. I could see WRH leap frogging Northeastern. I do not see them getting the #1 as Princeton will win out.

EDs ceiling if they win is probably the #3 given they finish at Southwest who will probably be 2-7. I think #4 is more realistic.

JK is still very much in play especially if WRH beats ED and then JK beats WRH the next week. If that were to happen, I still think WRH gets seeded as a #1 based on RPI but probably in the 4-6 range.

The loser of the WRH-ED game will be in the 11-13 range. The top 10 spots this year will be filled with conference champions. JK will also be in that area if they were to finish 8-2.

If WRH and Princeton wins out, why would Princeton get #1.

I dont have WRH getting the #1 due to a couple of factors.

Princeton even though they play in an awful conference has played a good non conference schedule. SSS is undefeated, ED is 7-1 and Louisburg is 6-2.

Princeton's current RPI is .66730 while WRH is .61413. That is a pretty wide gap. If both Princeton and WRH finish 9-1, I still see Princeton getting the #1 based on opponents winning percentage especially if SSS wins out.

Just my opinion though. Others surely know more than I do.

We haven't had any success to speak of defending the pass. They're gonna throw it some this year. They also seem to be more disciplined in terms of penalties from what I've seen. I think we can win, but I feel, like last year, the second d match-up will put us in a better situation to win. I hope I'm wrong, but we just haven't put that all-around game together yet. They are senior laden as you know, and that matters. Man I hope I'm wrong, but I don't feel it right now. Loser should feel no shame here. I don't come on here like some and just boast and try to trigger an argument. I'm giving an objective opinion, that's all.
There are those on here that can't handle an objective opinion. I can't wait to see this game and give a neutral breakdown of what I saw. Based on stats this is going to be a really good game. May come down to the team that takes the most chances on O and thinks out of the box.

You can throw stats out the window, they mean nothing in this game, I picked ED to win this one simply because of Battle Holley, he knows how to defend the wing t better than anyone around. He has an experienced senior laden team who are hungry. This is there year and they know it. Not taking anything away away from my dogs as they will be tough to beat from here on out. I just picked ED to win conference at the beginning of the year and they have done nothing to change my mind.

Another question for the Wallace guys. How is the Wallace JV? ED is decent from what I have been told. Lost Kinton and JK in close games. Just what I've been told hardly ever make a JV game.

I’m expecting Wallace Jv to win by a couple of scores.

most any good defense can limit the wing t if you line every one in the box. with WRH being predominately run. comes down to power football sometimes.

Yes the last few years Ed just pins there ears back and brings the house esp linebackers knowing wrh passing game was just not there. I think pearsal has showed improvement and has thrown some strikes this year there is enough threat there to make them pay if they gamble to much. Adam dosent show it alot unless we need too but he will go away from the wing formation into that power T look with Montgomery Kerr and Brown. It worked really good in second half of Clinton game. Haven’t seen it since much I hope it shows up Friday night.

East Duplin has been hyped by a few fans in Beulaville and a lot of us in Wallace even before the season started. The panthers has totally delivered to this point. Few things live up to the hype. Top Gun ( maverick), 21 Shelby team, Peyton Manning coming out of Tennessee,Kanye all lived up to the hype. ED is capable of going all the way, they have all the pieces. Then there is their old county foe. The dogs are going to Beulaville healthy, loose, rested, focused and prepared. Can’t disagree with olddog and g-dog. Probly help WRH if our dogs were to lose this game. But , if y’all didn’t already know Kevin’s DOGS will HUNT! Just like Ed’s senior leadership, the Dogs has got great leadership and our depth at running back is definitely an advantage. I’m sure glad I ain’t picking against our Dogs. Especially a game that we all know can go either way. GO BULLDOGS

I was posting the link in case anyone was interested in the story about the young man. No pressure to subscribe. I just like putting it out there in case people are interested. But, an online subscription to our coverage is $1.

Like I told a good ole football coach last year, if you can afford a thing of $6 Skoal, you can afford a $1 sign-up for local football coverage haha. I'll leave yall to figure out who that coach was lol.

This is good for fans who are local, and they should support the coverage, because they will be the same ones complaining about no coverage. For those that watch HSFB generally living in other towns and states, it would be inconvenient and costly due to every city/town having their own subscriptions.

Haven’t changed my pick tonight, even though I'm not comfortable saying it, I'm thinking ed by 10 plus. Having said this, I fully expect wrh to make things right in a few weeks when these two powerhouses meet again. Tonight is what Duplin Co football is all about. Both schools will have a passionate fanbase in attendance. May the best team win with no significant injuries! Go dogs!

I’ll stay with ED by 7. Hoping for a clean, injury free game. It doesn’t get much better than this in Eastern NC football. Go Panthers!

Everything right for the panthers tonight, mainly home field advantage. I know wrh can win, but I don't see a sweep by either team, and I'd rather see a wrh victory in about 3-4 weeks.

Toss up game. Could go either way. IMO, game comes down to the trenches. WRH Oline has been playing great and could very well be the best ED has seen since Princeton. Numerous weapons in the backfield and a multi threat QB. Defense is better this year as well. Kicking game as always, solid.

ED has the preseason conference player of the year on offense and defense. Multiple weapons on offense and more passing this year than previous year. Offense is more diverse and can come at you in many looks. Defense is making enough plays to win. Special teams are very good.

WRH has big win over Clinton, ED has big win over JK. WRH lost to a good Leesville team, ED lost early at Princeton. Nothing really challenging for either since.

For me, I keep going back to the Princeton game for ED and giving up 58 points. I know that was late August and a lot of football has been played but that is still a cause of concern for me about ED. I do question their defense. WRH can exploit that.

WRH I think is the favorite and they should be. The wildcard for me is the in game adjustments that might have to be made based on what the other is doing. I also think that special teams and turnovers of course, will be key.

I dont know why and I have been wrong numerous times, but for some reason, I think ED finds a way. Dont ask me why I think that as I cant point to one thing, just a gut feeling. I dont think its a matter of homefield, just a gut feeling. I am going to say ED 27 WRH 21.

I FULLY UNDERSTAND THE LEAN. BUT MY HEART WILL NOT PULL FOR ANY ONE BUT THE DOGS. I WILL BE THE 12TH MAN IN THE STANDS. JUST MY TAKE
I'm not pulling for anyone but the dogs either. Realistically I don't think either of these two consistently beats the other, and you can throw jk in the mix also. I'm wrh all the way. Just don't feel it tonight
