I remember in 1995, Cheron took the mound and the Wolves were down in their series for the 2A Baseball State Championship. He drilled the first batter he faced with a fast ball. I think that pitch frightened the other team. He was in control after that and the Wolves came back to take the next two games.
 
Y’all stole my thunder but it’s crazy that we are already on top of the season lol. Thanks for starting this thread just as long as someone does it we’re all happy.

My thoughts with some humor -

Let’s hope LNC can at least enjoy themselves and keep it close. Don’t know bout this other academy.

North playing a team located in an athletic area in figuring they are Union county. A game I see as alittle unknown but a good test. Win by a couple TDs only cause first game jitters.

On way out years past this would be a gate seller but on this night a county sissy fight and usually these 2 have been same conference. Newton takes it though but not in blowout fashion but could be wrong.

Usually a game the Bandys dedicated are heading out by 3rd quarter. Saint puts up a fight but gets rolled in the 4th.

Lots of games tonight in area that are within Catawba county. Nice. This is another one I would go on a limb and say it’s closer than people think but Maiden gets it done by only 14. If I’m wrong I’m wrong.

A mustang drag race game, sweet. A decent out of area game to gage the Orange rowdies and see we’re they stand. Never know what ER May have under the hood as they did surprise Freedom not too many years ago. EL in a close one. Give ya the benefit of the doubt.


Nice warm up game for the Cat Square faithful but come on’ - get in someone’s ear and schedule Freedom instead. Pick on a Burke county team your own size ha ha.
 
I will not pick Lincolnton games but I do like the wolves chances against Stuart Cramer. They have beat us up pretty good the past two season so we are due one.
 
Sounds like Stuart Cramer lost a whole team to graduation from what y’all talk. Only team I know that’s lost seniors and I mean LOST seniors is Hibriten lol.

Who else around is suffering from senior blowout?
 
Sc lost 14 starters to graduation. Lost their TE he was number 1 in the state and 10 in the country at his position. They return their running back and add 2 more. Judging by what I saw Friday they could be very good if they fine tune it.
 
So we’re did the TE from SCramer go and the large horse “little Shatley” RB from Bandys go? If Clayton Cribb of North can get picked up by Army which is ranking in rushing numbers or had been anyway surely that guy went somewhere cool.

Hate I’m missing the Friday night lights this Friday for the first go round but those players and coaches don’t pay my bills and this site and FFN DVR works wonders.

Back to senior loses, I think Hibriten got hit the hardest. I’m guessing 20 some seniors and those guys even with what’s returning and new coach will STILL get favored to do damage, win their conference( that’s not saying much) and bring the gate sales in playoffs. If LNC bless their hearts was in this conference they’d win a couple.

The TE for Stuart Cramer (Kendall Karr) has committed to UNC. He is a senior at SCramer but is injured and I have been told is out for the year....think it is a ACL.

Yes torn acl I believe his timeline is late October early November. Dont think there is any plan to play him
 
I have heard through numerous folks that Cramer did not look good in their scrimme. Now it was a scrimmage and I do not know what the measuring stick is but tomorrow will be a good test for the wolves to see where we are. Starting off 1-0 would do a lot for our confidence.

Lincolnton will be fine. History has always shown they don’t have more than 1 bad seasons in a row and have never lost to North Lincoln or West Lincoln 2 in a row either. I could be off on that alittle but for the most part it’s true. This year on the other hand the best chance for North to take Lincolnton twice would be now. Not sure how the talent pool at North will be after this year.
Sorous will be one of the largest losses ever at that school after this spring.
 
Game to be finished Monday at 6pm. I must say, I do not quite understand the logic of moving it to Thursday if it was going to get rained out and rescheduled anyways.

From what I was told they felt like the weather would be worse Friday them Thursday and lincolnton has a fundraiser on Saturday and wasnt wanting to play Monday bc of having to play sp next week. But after the third weather delay tonight there wasnt much of a choice
 
Both offenses looked anemic in the Lincolnton/Stuart Cramer game last night. I didn't see much speed or explosiveness by either of the offenses.
 
Were would Lincolnton prob finish in conference just based off that performance last night you think?
 
Maiden over Foard 48-24. Was 41-0 until Foard's first score with 3:17 left in the third quarter.

Lots of penalties and the refs were playing a man down (injured in the first quarter (ankle)).

Both teams definitely have some rust to shake off!
 
West 52-13 over draught. Was 46-0 at halftime. 1st string didn't play a down in second half.

Guess several returns don’t always translate to wins the next year however this was the first game and they lost the first game last year but it was to a good team. Parkwood is no we’re near ranked anywhere but I assume they had athletes

Both teams looked about the same in terms of personnel. Williams is playing fullback. Looked like he was not comfortable between the tackles.
 
Was the drive from Lincolnton to Cramerton for 30 minutes really worth completing this game?
