Shelby vs Reidsville Western Championship

you really a lil ass baby 😂😂

Bunker HIll is like 1 minute removed from being everybody's home coming game.

Y'all went from being Pasquotank west to sectional participants

It's amazing what one almost undefeated season will vicariously do to the confidence of a middle age cheerleader.

Okay big mouth fossil, you want to keep this going?
We will bury you.
Let’s start with the 31 consecutive year drought within the last 50 years.
How do you ignore that in claiming any dominance.
A dozen teams accomplished more sustained success than Reidsville in that period.
You are a senile old jack ***.
And a flat out liar.
How do you explain not being able to catchup with a 31 year drought? Reidsville and Shelby will continue to be in same division and Reidsville will continue to gain a lead on titles in that division. Starting with this Saturday.

So, you will not list your so called "titles"??? Do they all even exist???

You're really starting to sound like 98 Champ, True Dyansty ,etc. Seriously what are you pissed about. .. the fact I said we can play against Crest? AC Reynolds? Kings Mt? Or just the fact you don't think we can? 95 years out of 100 they can beat Shelby or us. I'll give you Crest. Kings Mt and Reynolds... might beat Shelby and Reidsville 3 out of 10. Dudley beat Shelby and Reidsville 7 out of 10.

Shelby vs.

A.C. Reynolds (6-4-0)
Crest (30-23-1)
Kings Mountain (75-20-7)

So, you will not list your so called "titles"??? Do they all even exist???

Of course we will.
We have done all this before, and you know it.
Unless your mind is failing you.
Is that the case? Tell us, so we don’t waste our time.

We have never claimed Shelby has more Titles.
It is 22-19.
For some of you, we will repeat that.
We have never claimed Shelby has more Titles.
It is 22-19.

What we will continue to state is that a 31 recent consecutive year absence in the last 50 years from even a Championship Title Game appearance disqualifies Reidsville from any legitimate claim to be the so called “Capitol (sic)” of high school football.
Also, a brief study will show that 13 of your 22 titles occurred over 50 years ago, before recognized “ modern football” and more importantly, before integration.
The Reidsville faithful can choose to ignore both of these factual and historical factors in their zeal to highlight their all time titles lead, but it harkens back to our “Princeton” example.
Princeton University has the all time lead in college National Titles. Who knew?
Are the Reidsville faithful prepared to go and raise the banner for Princeton as the “Capitol” of College Football”?
Why not?
Because it falls apart. As does Reidsville’s claim.

Reidsville recent run since 2000 is great.
But many others have been equally so or better, especially considering three decades before, when Reidsville was absent.

What we claim Shelby to be is the True Dynasty in North Carolina high school football.
That is documented by definition, statistics and historical facts. Not opinion. No gaps.
And accomplished over 100 years with a most significant amount of the success in the last 50 years and after integration.
While down 22-19 in Titles, Shelby leads in all other statistical categories and that is highlighted in recent NCHSAA weekly playoff updates. Those statistical leads are exceptional and dominating, and if capable of matching, would take multiple decades to accomplish for any other program, including Reidsville.
Shelby could catch Reidsville’s 3 Titles lead in this decade. We have just won 7 of the last 10 State Titles.
What will you do when that happens?
Need to start thinking about that.
We will take that lead.
But we will not claim to be “The Capital (correct spelling)”. That is an opinionated moniker. And for others to decide. Not our own fans, as you did.

You’ve got the Titles lead for now.
But that is ALL you have.
And the three decade drought and pre-historic majority of those renders your claim bogus and unsubstantiated.

I have no dog in this fight but are you able to say all this in less words. Some days I have time and energy to read it, and this morning(among others) I can't, even with 3 cups of coffee.

...anyway as you were

Also have a most recent 49-14 but whooping and the game wasn’t even that close. Reidsville took it easy on y’all the 2nd half. You know it. We all know it. So when do expect to catch Reidsville in titles? This decade? Haha good one

So let me understand. Reidsville's titles before 1970 are too old because they were before the "modern football era" and pre-integration? And I've seen you state their last quarter century of dominance is spoiled by split classifications and therefore aren't "unified" titles. It seems like you want to narrow your focus to the 1970-2001 "drought" period. Perhaps the reason for you doing this is actually because it is the only period when Shelby was actually better than Reidsville.

As for the Princeton comparison--I'd say Reidsville is more like Alabama. After all, the Tide (with all their preintegration titles) disappeared from national relevance from 1992 to 2009, only to return to glory in modern times. Princeton's not winning titles in the modern era, so it's time to lay that reference to rest.

I see the analogy here, but for some reason Reidsville and Shelby remind me of Florida and Florida State, except they LOOK like Colorado(or NO Saints) and Notre Dame lol.

Welcome to the 2000's A New Epoch- The Epoch of the Ram. A reign of terror over came the Lion.
Sending him of into the bush with tail tightly tucked. Beaten and demoralized. Sad but deserving. His downfall began at the turn of the century. His attempted to dominate all he encountered even overcoming tremendous odds to completely conquer the likes of Thomas Jefferson High School and Heritage

Yep, once again refusing to list the "19" claimed titles. It's so simple, Just 19 little lines listing year, Shelby Score, Opponents Score. Refusing to list because the claim is BOGUS?
He won't list anything contrary to his crazy line of bull crap. If you say it often enough it must be true. However, no arguments against may be presented.

At its height, the Western Association had four conferences and 42 members with no size/class differentiation before joining the NCHSAA in 1977. Not a single school from Charlotte, Triad or Triangle were members. Any Shelby titles from that 1929-77 period would be the equivalent of a sub-regional title like the old Alaska Shootout in college hoops. Hardly worthy or equal to a state championship and are therefore BOGUS!

When will you be marching back to Reidsville again? How did that turn out? 49-14. I bet you and 2ND felt like you had been dog slapped. Did you come to the game. I probably saw you if you did. You must have had 40 fans there. You would think more fans from Shelby would have wanted to witness the upcoming beat down. I thought ya'll was going to tap out midway thru the third. Oh lord it's hard to be humble ain't it? Especially when you are never humble, and someone, has to and does, beat humility into that stubborn skull of yours. Did you ever figure out how much you caught up to Reidsville in the last 22 years? I will answer for you, NOT ANY. Did I see you at the Dodge Ball Event on ESPN3.

Now that is select group of teams, just 42 eligible to play in that league.

The Association was a Western Piedmont Regional affair. For about 15 of the years the Association existed they didn't even play a championship game. And for many of those years there were only 2 conferences so the "title" was claimed by winning just one game.

Shelby was pretty much irrelevant in the WNCHSAA until the 1970s when they won 3 or 4 "titles". I remember Hickory was very good and my uncle took me over to Thomasville for a few games when I was just a kid.

Asheboro and Thomasville, both located in the Triad, were members of the WNCHSAA as members of the South PIedmont Conference. Lexington may have been in that conference, too.

Also, the original NCHSAA was founded by Louis Round Wilson. I should’ve spent more time in his namesake graduate library in Chapel Hill. In addition, I didn’t know that George ‘Hap’ Perry led the Association after his legendary career at Reidsville.

Yes. Perry headed up the NCHSAA after retiring as Head Coach of the Reidsville Golden Lions. And later on Hap was one of college football's best officials. He officiated as the White Hat in many New Year's Bowl Games, retiring in Florida. We tried to honor his memory with his family when he was inducted into our Football Hall of Fame but we just could not locate any of his possible descendants.

Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear in the WNCHSAA:

In some of the years during the 1940s and 1950s, the schools didn't bother to play for championships. For example, in 1955 there were four conference champions and no game was held to determine a champion. Go back a little further to 1947 when Shelby and Winston-Salem Children's Home were the conference champions but there was no championship game.

Just from looking at the history of the WNCHSAA, it seems like in the early years it was a disorganized group of schools just playing something akin to intramural sports. They played for titles in some of those years, but it was far from consistent. From 1947 to 1950, they played a bowl game at Lenoir-Rhyne College featuring a team from each of the two conferences. But the teams were selected several weeks before the end of the regular season. What was that all about?

WNCHSAA got a lot more organized in the 60s and there were some great football teams squaring off in the title games until it folded into the NCHSAA in 1977.

One thing I like about the history of the Western Association ... the schools were for the most part the town names ... maybe one or two compass point schools like Wilkes Central and East Rutherford.

We said last week you guys needed this win more than we did.
Boy is that evident.
This looks almost coordinated.
Did Shelby’s 7 of the last 10 Championships get y’all that manic?
What will you do if you lose Saturday?
Go into a complete Hate Shelby meltdown and come here to disrupt our Christmas parade?
