As far as I know, Maiden and Reidsville have never played
Still have a couple of days and the weather might play a role just like it might in the rest of the games this week. Hope the rain holds off for the game.

I think the fact that we just played 2 weeks ago took some of the flare out of this thread. Who can make the better adjustments from that game? There's a misconception about rematches that the losing team is the only one who makes adjustments. But I guarantee you that Burns will make adjustments too. I'm glad the game will be shown online now. I may not be able to make it. Again, I hate that the weather is going to be a major factor for all games this week. Bad weather leads to more of a chance of an upset. In theory, it does help us if it rains. But I'd rather play when both teams can do what they do best and let the best team win.

I watched the first game, the only way Burns loses this game is if they beat themselves. That being said Shelby is not a team you give hope to. If Burns let's them make a game out of it they will have their hands full. This is the best opportunity Burns has had to get a ring in decades.
I agree. This is our best chance in some time. Brandon Littlejohn's junior year when we made it to the semis was a dang good team. I would argue that team was better than this team. But we were in 3A and ran into a huge West Rowan team who took us to the woodshed. We've got to take advantage this year with Shelby being down. Lord knows that won't last long.
On a different subject. What does life look like without Lee at QB next year? Who's the next in line?

No, I didn't make any JV games this year. So you'll have him for 3 years, that's always good. Kind of sucks when you have a QB leave and the next one in line is an upcoming Junior or Senior. We've got Ben for one more year, we just need him to add.....I don't know.....40 pounds of meat. LOL.
I think the weather has put a damper on things. Not real excited about sitting in the pouring rain and both teams not being able to bring their best stuff.

BBB- that was Littlejohn’s senior year. Junior year lost in double OT to Asheville after we blew them out at their field in the regular season. I agree, this is the most complete team since then.
Lan farmer is a great kid, will be a good QB. I know he ain’t going to be much of a runner but will be able to throw it around no doubt.
White dynamite- agreed. Burns can easily lose this game if Shelby gets some mojo going. They still haven’t beat a good team all year though. I know FH has a good season but when you look at their whole body of work and the teams they beat there just isn’t much meat on the bones. Burns must correct the penalties from the regular season. If they can do that and not turn it over it’s burns by 3 TD’s.

Man, I thought Whitworth and Jonah Brooks was on that team semifinal team. But I'll take your word for it. I was going by memory which isn't too smart for me to do.

Littlejohn turned to his legs with the loss of those two and ran a lot more that year and Ramsey was the work horse he was. Asheville 2OT loss, Curtis missed about a 45ish yard FG when time ran out in regulation in 2010. We was handled by WR in the western finals in 2011.

I know you’re right. I was heavily involved in both of those years. Everything just runs together these days.
2nd game between the two. Same result. I stated prior to the first game that Burns will win because they are simply the better overall team. Burns is still the better overall team.
I agree that Burns is better this year. My fear is that bad weather brings teams closer together. Also, I'm sure Shelby has more motivation after the beatdown a couple weeks ago. The best team don't always win in these situations.
Side note to all the players......please be careful running down the hill tonight on the wet grass. That's all we need is someone getting hurt coming down the hill. That would be the typical bad break we seem to get in the playoffs.

Question, so Shelby has the Supper Club, Crest has the Horseshoe Club, what does Burns have? Kennel Club? What about Kings Mtn? Cabin Club? How does it work there in Cleveland County with those social/booster clubs?
