It was supposed to be made today. But with the new forecast, it looks like Thursday will be worse. So it makes sense to wait until tomorrow.
Yeah I just watched a new video out this morning. Looks like the rain starts around 6-7PM on Thursday & is moving out at around the same time on Friday.
Well, wasn't a bad run for Shelby. They tried. Time to focus on hoops.
Is it better to play in the rain on a somewhat stable surface or later in a muddy soup bowl?

Good question. For our advantage, I would think playing in the rain would be better. We're a better running team and Shelby throws the ball all over.
I’m convinced he talks with a lisp. That’s the way he says, “basketball”. He slips up occasionally and spells it as he says it. That, or he has “ball park franks for fingers” as Crestrulz once said.
I always felt bad for people with lisps. They can't even say what they have. Whoever created that word was cruel.
Maybe Shelby goes back to the Wing T this week. Someone stated earlier in the thread or on the FH vs Shelby thread that they had an all new offense.
Whether you play in the pouring down rain or play in a soup bowl the day after I don’t think it matters. I feel like the better option is in the rain. It’s liable to change and come in later etc. but if it’s rained an inch you can’t change that.
Only change I could see in what Shelby tries to do offensively is put Hollifield in and run the wildcat. Hollifield always played good at Q in the past. Aside from that, I just don’t see what else they than come at anyone with.
i would like to see them with the same pass run balance as last week, take a methodical approach. Give Kee 20 or more touches again. He’s a very good back, fast. Shelby gets behind sometimes, and have a tendency to panic, and start throwing the ball 30 yards downfield every play.
Defensively, defend the perimeter a lot better. Norris is a great back, and hurts opposing defenses more on the edges. He is elusive! However, he hurts the Burns offensive at times, too, running east and west too much, taking huge losses. Regardless, Shelby has to defend the edges better, and minimize Norris’ big runs.
Funny thing is, that used to be a given for Shelby, in years past. The Shelby D would be too fast to get outside on. Past two years, not so much.

ANyway, Burns had the better chance of getting past Monroe to Reidsville/Maiden and to the trophy. If Shelby lucks up and wins Monroe will put them to sleep to have their hoop dreams.
Monroe🥱 They and Forest Hills are twins. Monroe would get exposed by Shelby. Admittedly, Burns is better than Shelby, the best team in all of 2A, in my opinion. They should defeat the Lions, but the better team doesn’t always win.
Reidsville will beat Maiden, and you know it. You’re just being pc. Chase will play them decently, but you don’t lose a McCombs and not be weakened. That was a huge break for the Rams. They would have won anyway, but McCombs, to quote the great Rulz again, “ran like he was mad at the grass” versus the Rams last postseason, to the tune of 278 yards. He won’t be there causing them to hold their butts tight, every time he runs the ball, and gets to the second level.
Shelby being subpar this season, created all this imbalance in these brackets. Before anyone from Da Ville says anything, your bracket is weak, and you all know it. Stan and Ramkiller proclaimed the Rams in the western and state finals, before the submit button was officially pressed, and the brackets were officially uploaded. I like that boldness, though. No need to sandbag. Good for the Rams.

Nobody at Reidsville was worried at the chase game. Kind of like how nobody at Shelby was worried at the wrh game last year by halftime.
Now some butts were clenched during the Hendo game. But not Chase. Chase couldn't stop us what so ever. Mccombes got his, but no one else did anything.
But, what I meant was, y’all caught a break this post season, not having to contend with him. That young man is special, irreplaceable. I would have the Rams still winning, but the game would be a little more competitive this post season. With him in their lineup, I think Chase was the most dangerous they have ever been. Their quarterback is the man now, with over 1200 yards rushing. He’s obviously an athlete. He and McCombs would present a challenge for anyone, offensively.
I still think Chase is a solid team though. Be curious to see how the Jm Robinson game goes.

Great info. Seriously! Those dudes are playing at home, though, where you’d think The Mule is one of the refs. If your program has never played them, they are a difficult bunch to play. Obviously, very athletic, but they are guaranteed to have a trick play or two up their sleeve, too. You have to be extremely disciplined versus the Rams. They love the wr pass. I called it in the forum last post season, and right on cue, they tried it against Shelby. They tend to have receiver with quarterbacking in their background, Peoples last season, Neal this season. Pass could sling it, too, a couple of seasons ago.

We definitely have issues offensively, which is unusual considering we have more talent this year than last imo.
And while our offense is better than last year, we've more issues defensively. If we play Reidsville it would be one hell of a game. Let's neither of us look ahead...but no one count anyone out yet.
LA- you are correct. Norris can make things happen but I get aggravated a lot when he does three spin moves before he gets to the line of scrimmage and then he is so dizzy he starts running to the sideline and then turns around and runs to the other sideline and then next thing you know he runs backwards and loses 7 yards.

Bro, I'm still not sure how you figured out peoples was going to do that. Everyone here knew he could play Qb, but we hadn't shown that. We've played everyone in their conference from, East Lincoln, Lincolnton, Bandy's and Newton Conover. It would be nice to finally play Maiden . This Maiden team reminds me of that explosive Linconton team we played in 2016
