Breakdown of who’s locked in, who’s in a great spot, who needs a win, and who needs a miracle, and which tier (1,2,3, Wild Card) they might be seeded in, AMPR=Adjusted Maxpreps Ranking, leagues have 2 auto bids unless otherwise posted, also remember: even if a team has clinched an auto bid, that’s out the window if 3 players or more ejected this Friday night in a brawl or other stupidity

We Highlands (1 auto bid)
-Mtn Heritage (plays Polk) clinched 1st
-Owen (plays Madison) AMPR 37, lock for wild card with win

Mtn Six
-Brevard (plays Pisgah) clinches 1st with win, or looking at 3 way tie for 1st and draw for final standings, could clinch 2nd outright with loss and Franklin win, safely in playoffs with AMPR 11
-Smoky Mtn (plays Franklin) clinches 2nd with Brevard win, or could slip into 3 way tie for 1st with win and a Brevard loss, safely in playoffs with AMPR 27
-Pisgah (plays Brevard) can force 3 way tie for 1st with win and SM win, or clinch 1st with a win and a SM loss
-Hendersonville (plays E Henderson), AMPR 59, projected in playoffs right now, needs win to stay in

Mtn Valley (1 auto bid)
-Ashe (plays Starmount) clinched 1st
-Wilkes Ce (plays E Wilkes) AMPR 46, appears to be in a good spot for wild card
-N Wilkes (plays W Wilkes) AMPR 56, needs to win to stay in good shape

We Piedmont
-W Stokes (plays Forbush) clinched 1st
-N Surry (plays Carver) clinched 2nd
-Forbush (plays W Stokes) AMPR 58 sits 3rd for the moment and would be wild card, could get bumped out of playoffs with loss, would certainly make it with a win, could fall into a three way tie for third with N Forsyth & Walkertown
-Walkertown (plays Atkins) needs a win, but also needs help, their loss to N Forsyth has them in danger of missing the playoffs, even with AMPR 49 due to leap frog rule, if Forbush beats W Stokes, Walk is out, unless Surry Ce also beats N Forsyth, they could still get in with win and N Forsyth win over Surry Ce, if it comes down to a draw to settle 3 way tie for 3rd, 4th, 5th, then all bets are off, if NF gets third place in draw, then both Forbush & Walkertown would be locked out of playoffs

S'we
-Shelby (plays S Point) clinched 1st
-Burns (plays N Gaston) clinched 2nd
-Chase (plays R-S Ce) AMPR 22, lock for a wild card
-S Point (plays Shelby) should still be wild card with AMPR 44
-R-S Central (plays Chase) AMPR 57, really needs a win this week to stay safely in the top 62 or so, could still make it with a loss, depending on other bubble teams

N'we Foothills
-Hibriten (plays Patton) clinched 1st, playing to solidify seeding with AMPR 10
-Bunker Hill (plays W Caldwell) can clinch 2nd with win, probably out of playoffs with a loss and AMPR 64 right now, unless both Draughn and West Iredell also lose
-Draughn (plays E Burke) AMPR 55 appears to be in good shape for a wild card with win
-W Iredell (plays Foard) AMPR 68, could sneak in with a win, but also needs things to happen around the state to keep other bubble teams out

S Fork
-N Lincoln (plays Bandys) clinched 1st
-Maiden (plays Lincolnton) clinches 2nd with win this week, definitely a wild card with a loss with AMPR 25
-E Lincoln (plays Newton-Conover) lock for the playoffs with AMPR 19, can clinch 2nd with win and a Maiden loss
-Newton-Conover (plays E Lincoln) lock for the playoffs with AMPR 34, can clinch 2nd with win and a Maiden loss (misspoke last week saying N-C could clinch 2nd with one win, that win would have had to be over Maiden)
-W Lincoln (plays LNC) appears to be a lock for the playoffs with AMPR 31, especially if they take care of business this week
-Bandys (plays N Lincoln) is on bubble, AMPR 62, last team in right now; desperately need to pull off upset, could still make it with a loss but will need a lot of help

Rocky River (1 auto bid)
-Anson (plays F. Hills) clinched 1st, looking like small 2A West, but word around the message boards is they will be ineligible for the playoffs, if that's true, then the league will not have an auto bid
-W Stanly (plays Mt Pleasant) will be a lock for a wild card with a win over Mount Pleasant, lose that game and they could be out of the playoffs
-Mt Pleasant (plays W Stanly) needs a win to have any chance with AMPR 74, but if they get that win their AMPR could jump high enough to MAYBE be in the discussion for one of the last wild card spots

Ce Carolina (3 auto bids)
-Oak Grove AMPR 21 (plays E Davidson) clinches 1st with win
-Salisbury AMPR 29 (plays S Rowan), clinches 2nd with win and Led win over ND and no other upsets, would be in draw for 2nd/3rd with win and ND win over Led
-Thomasville AMPR 43 (plays Lexington) would definitely finish 4th and get wild card with no upsets and a Led win over ND, would be in draw for 2nd/3rd with win and ND win over Led
-Ledford AMPR 50 (plays N Davidson) clinches 3rd with win over ND and no upsets in other games, otherwise would finish 5th and be a wild card (provided their AMPR is still in top 62ish; and that whoever finishes 4th also gets a wild card)
-N Davidson AMPR 51 (plays Ledford) essentially clinches some type of playoff berth with a win; if there are no upsets, they would be in a 3 way tie for 2nd, to be settled by draw, would finish 5th and be a wild card with a loss (provided their AMPR is still in top 62ish; and that whoever finishes 4th also gets a wild card)

PAC 7
-Randleman (bye week) clinched 1st
-Ea Randolph (plays Trinity) clinched 2nd
-Providence Grove (plays JM) appears to be in good shape for wild card with AMPR 54, needs a win to stay safely in
-Andrews (plays Wheatmore) has AMPR 70, outside shot of being one of the last few in with win and lots of help from around the state

Mid-State 2A/3A
-Morehead (plays Rockingham) clinched auto wild card bid, cannot be seeded in tier of 1st place teams due to not being in top 3 in conf or having .500 record

Mid-State 2A
-Reidsville (plays B Yancey) can clinch 1st with a win
-B Yancey AMPR 33 (plays Reidsville) can clinch 1st with a win, clinches 2nd with loss and Cummings loss to Graham, otherwise a loss results in 3 way tie for 2nd, all bets are off in a draw
-Cummings AMPR 80 (plays Graham) can clinch share of 2nd with a win and a Reid win over BY, definitely out with a loss
-Carrboro AMPR 63 (plays JF Webb) clinches share of 2nd with Reid win over BY and Cummings win over Graham, can't clinch 2nd outright, would make playoffs only through a draw giving them 2nd, or being one of the last wild cards in, likely with win, unlikely with loss
-Remember leap frog rule: if draw places BY in 4th, they would not make playoffs unless Carrboro and Cummings both get in

3 Rivers
-Red Springs (plays St Pauls) clinched 1st
-Whiteville (plays S Columbus) clinched 2nd
-St Pauls (plays Red Springs) lock for wild card with AMPR 28
-Fairmont (plays D Byrd) is in for the moment with AMPR 53, but could drop with a loss this week, no telling how far, guessing they are safely in but we never know
-E Bladen (plays W Bladen) needs a win to solidify wild card berth, currently has AMPR 60, can't afford a loss

No Carolina (only 1 auto bid)
-S Granville (plays Granville Ce) clinched 1st, needs win to help seeding and win conf outright
-Bunn (plays Roanoke Rapids) desperately needs a win (with AMPR 69) and help from around the state with other bubble teams losing, and/or some of those tie breaking draws to leave out teams currently ranked ahead of them

-E Ce
-Clinton (plays Midway) clinched 1st
-E Duplin (plays Goldsboro) clinches 2nd with a win and a Midway loss to Clinton, probably safe for wild card if needed with AMPR 48
-Wallace-Rose Hill (plays J. Kenan) clinches 2nd with a win and a Goldsboro win over E Duplin, lock for wild card if needed with AMPR 17
-Goldsboro (plays E Duplin) clinches 2nd with a win and a JK win over WRH, probably safe for a wild card if needed with AMPR 47
-Midway (plays Clinton) clinches 2nd with a win and a JK win over WRH and an ED win over Goldsboro, lock for a wild card if needed with AMPR 24
-J Kenan (plays WRH) desperately needs a win (with AMPR 66), if they pull off upset they would almost certainly jump in AMPR and bump another bubble team out

Ea Plains
-Winner of SW Edgecombe/Beddingfield is 1st, loser 2nd
-Nash Ce (plays N Johnston) AMPR 61 would almost certainly be a wild card with a win, almost certainly out of playoffs with a loss

Ea Carolina
-W Craven (plays New Bern) clinched 1st
-Washington (plays Greene Ce) clinched 2nd
-Ayden-Grifton (plays Kinston), AMPR 26 and appears to be a lock for wild card
-Kinston (plays A-G) AMPR 52, probably in good shape for wild card but it wouldn't hurt to win and remove any doubt
-N Lenoir (plays S Lenoir) has a high AMPR of 45, but due to head to head tie breakers, cannot finish higher than 5th, need everyone ahead of them to make the playoffs, only risk appears to be Kinston

Co 8
-SW Onslow (plays Richlands) clinches 1st with win, in playoffs no matter what with AMPR 36, could have 3 way tie for first, resulting in draw
-Croatan (plays E Carteret) clinches 2nd with win and SWO win over Richlands, probably in playoffs no matter what with AMPR 40, would have a share of 1st, resulting in draw, clinches 1st with win and Richlands win over SWO
-Richlands (plays SW Onslow) clinches 1st with win and E Cart win over Croatan, clinches share of 1st with win and Cro. win over EC, would result in draw, currently has AMPR 67, win would probably get them in, loss and almost certainly out
-Dixon (plays Trask) AMPR 72, needs a win and a lot of things to happen around the state to even get close

-N'ea-Co
-If no upsets this week, 3 way tie for 1st between Currituck, Hertford, Northeastern; Currituck definitely 2AA, Northeastern definitely small 2A, Hertford close to cut line, but right now looking like 2AA, if this holds, Currituck is a 1 in 2AA, Northeastern is a 1 in 2A, I think Hertford will be a wild card in 2AA, as the two 1s would count as the league's 2 auto bids

Awesome post! Can I convince you to breakdown 3A?
I've been warned not to bother....my best suggestion is to check HighSchoolOT.com, they have projections as teams stand, but do not take much into account regarding what might happen/probably will happen this Friday

Great work...I'm pulling for ND to beat Ledford, and a Thomasville win...so they could have a chance at second place in the CCC...

Question for you: IF and I know it's a big IF...If East Davidson happened to upset OG is there a possibility of there being a 4 way tie for first place?

Yes, but I haven't thought far enough to look at the scenarios of who would get seeded where if that happened....it took look long enough to figure out who would go where based on Ledford/ND results, which of course is still inconclusive because it would require a draw if ND wins, easy to solve the riddle if OG & Ledford win this Friday
