Reidsville vs Newton-Conover

No. 23 is Tamir Johnson, a small but tough and speedy freshman. He had a pick-6 in the Graham game and then another interception against Forbush.
Newton-Conover has a couple of big, strong running backs who both went over 100 yards against Thomasville
Allen Wilfong ... 5-11, 190 senior
Allan Shade ... 6-0, 220 junior
Wilfong is over 1000 yards on the season.
The N-C quarterback is junior Justice Craig (5-11, 175), who has passed for close to 2000 yards and 17 touchdowns this season.
This should be a good test for the Reidsville defense that has pitched five straight shutouts and has 8 shutouts in 12 games.
Reidsville has some impressive offensive numbers as well:
Junior QB Kyle Pinnix is 121 of 189 (64 percent) for 2540 yards and 40 TD passes.
Top receivers are:
Breon Pass with 31 receptions, 509 yards, 10 TDs
Auldon Edwards 22 receptions, 640 yards, 6 TDs
Demontez Canada 22 receptions, 506 yards, 9 TDs
Lionel Long has 15 receptions for 244 yards and 5 TDs in addition to running for 1086 yards (119 attempts) and 23 TDs.

Just from when I saw NC play against Burns earlier in the year, they are physical and they have some speed at the skill positions.. Defensively they missed some plays and didn't seem to be quite as fast in that side of the ball... I do think it'll be close for a bit, Coach Pack does a great job for them... But in the end Reidsville will just be too much

I wouldn't count that out yet. I think that may yet happen, Miracles happen. Looks to me that the bottom of East an West 2-A have more of the usual suspects. Not saying the top brackets don't have good teams but Clinton & Mountain Heritage seem to have easier roads.
If Reidsville don't score. Not that would be a miracle. I think the Rams win 47 to14. Now if Brevard gets by Chase witch I think they will . The Rams would be at Brevard the next week. That could be an interesting game if Brevard can get there running game going. Brevard has a lot of potential in the coming years . And they are consistent from week to week
I've seen both teams in action this year. Reidsville hands down and Newton feet up...Reidsville 63-7. N-C has NOOO defense. If N. Lincoln pasted them on every possession, then Reidsville will be up by 21 when Newton gets off the bus Friday.
I’m sorry but I for the life of me can’t figure out how Reidsville manages to get in small 2A unless it is to dodge the MIGHTY GOLDEN LIONS since that slobber knocking they got from the LIONS a few years ago.
Oh yes and that was on their home field. I sat will a couple Reidsville Middle coaches and they said, “no one has ever come in here and done what the LIONS did tonight.”
The last time Reidsville played shelby it was close.
And Northwest Guilford beat Reidsville 42-14 that same year you guys did.
How does someone "manage to get in small A"?? numbers are set by NCHSAA not the school..Reidsville vs Shelby has happened 4 times....twice in state finals...Lions hold the edge....2005 state 2AA title Shelby 26 Reidsville 18.....2007 state 2AA title Reidsville 28- Shelby 20.....2013 3rd round 2A playoffs Shelby 48 Reidsville 3 (a true butt whipping)...2014 western 2A finals Shelby 17 Reidsville 7,,,,,,,,,that 2013 game was the worst defeat for a Reidsville team in (at that time) almost 50 years............

Ummm... excuse me sir, but Reidsville isnt the team busing kids in from every Cleveland county elementary school to boost ADMs to stay in that weak 2AA division. They even used kids from Crest's district this season! Harumph!
Do you sit around and honestly think the city of Reidsville along with RC School Board tries to figure out how to avoid Shelby in football. You are delusional.
Over the last 15 years, the town and county continue to loose industry. Some parents keep doing everything in their power to send their kids to RCSH, while driving past Reidsville to drop them off in Wentworth.
Most of the posters from Shelby seem to be pretty good folks. Most Reidsville posters have been here a long time as well and are respectful and are fully aware Reidsville and Shelby are equally fine programs. I figured it up from Simmons Ratings. Since 2001, with the exception of a couple of years Brian didn't do ratings, Reidsville averaged rank is 6.6 and Shelby is 5.5. Pretty damn close if you ask me

Yep my mistake I must have forgotten that Pisgah beat Brevard in the last regular season game. I think I read somewhere that if Brevard won that game they would get the #2 seed. These Max Preps extended ranking fry my brain trying to make sense of them
I like both NC and Reidsville, have too much history with both. Pulling for the Rams to win the chip. If my Dogs don't make it through the playoffs, then I go with the Rams. Always like their heart.
Brandon Johnson is fast. He is a junior. I really like #1 who is a sophomore receiver on the Newton-Conover team.
Yes, Johnson excels in track, too. I looked him up. Wasn’t familiar with him, but that’s one cool thing about the playoffs, you discover great players from other programs.

Completely shut them down. A fluke TD in 1st qtr after a failed truck play. I left at halftime and assume the second score was against our 2s and 3s.
