Pisgah

I think this is a step back in coach’s. Pisgah had one of the top 2-4 coach’s in WNC and sent him packing to bring in this guy. I’m sure he is a fine coach but not better than what you had. The problem has to be way deeper than what is on the surface. It seems you have some snakes in the grass within the program. Pisgah will always be solid because of the kind of kids they have but somebody needs to put a stop to what’s going on behind the scenes

For you Pisgah fans that are not thrilled with this hire, us Mountaineer fans can feel your pain. We have hired 3 head coaches in the past 13 years that had no business being our head coach. IMO,. Brindley is a better coach than any of the 3 we hired. When we hired our first non qualified coach, it fractured our fan base and it has not been the same since then. Don't let that happen to you. Your principal butchered this just like a couple of our principals in the past did. It sucks for your kids but administrators sometimes think about themselves before they do the players. Power struggles usually don't end well. You guys should have a good season this year.

All three "nays" were from Tuscola Board members so who knows if they were logical reasons or not. I'm not accusing them in particular but I will say there are times on both sides that the County Clash sports rivalry mentality has dipped over into other decisions over the years, and elected/ hired/ appointed officials have forgotten that they are not teenagers playing but instead adults that should make the right/ best decision regardless of what school it affects. We've struggled there as a county sometimes, Mounties and Bears alike.
One might reason that the Tuscola members were against the hiring based on the strained relationship between Ricky and Crompton after the Jed West transfer.

If nothing else, leave it to Haywood County to make a football firing/hiring this interesting.

For at least one of the board members, the transfer had nothing to do with their no vote. It was something that occurred when your coach was previously employed in Haywood County. Our school board has historically been nothing but a "Yes" group that approves most every hire that is presented before them by a unanimous vote, so for 3 members to vote no definitely raises some red flags.

Guess again.
