PISGAH & TUSCOLA

So what was done about the post-game bird flipping last season by those precious darlings?
Dangerous stuff there. My my we have become such a soft people. What was done about the filth your student section was shouting last night? What was done about your students riding around in the bed of pickup trucks before the game spraying Pisgah fans with stuff walking on the sidewalk? You people are so blind you think your kids are so perfect. News flash: they ain't. The way your team behaved on the field last night was very disgraceful. What is going to be done about the handshake line behavior of a couple of your players and one certain head coach? Get back to me when you find out please.

Congrats to Pisgah. The OL and DL was the difference. The rest of the team did not have to do a whole lot, and I mean that in a good way. Somebody should take those lineman out for a nice steak. They were the difference in the game.

"Our administration has enough class to let their kids celebrate. Theirs doesn't plain and simple." Oh, you mean tearing down a baseball fence? Or stealing and defacing a game ball? That kind of celebrating? But you are right about one thing. Tuscola does NOT allow these things to happen, (or at least makes their best effort not to.) They feel it is better act like they've won before.

Mule, my daughter was there. She was on the field, in the hand tap (handshake) line and the Tuscola Coaches wouldn't do the hand tap and half of the players wouldn't either. PLUS, the Tuscola Coaches walked off talking BS. Wheres the sportsmanship? Whats your excuse? I think the Coaches should be reprimanded for being such sore losers and showing absolutely NO sportsmanship, NO class and setting a bad example for the kids and fans. Mule, as usual your epic bias makes you so blind its practically like you are lying. Grow up small man.

I do believe in sportsmanship. Win or lose, be the bigger person and don't gloat or whine, but stand up and be proud or stand up and be humble, but do the right thing. No matter what happens you bust on Pisgah and praise Tuscola, knowing full well you are often WRONG.

...and Mule, the Tuscola cheerleaders refused to even come off the stage and do the handshake line and one of the Tuscola players told the Pisgah cheerleaders what to suck. Poor sportsmanship all around (on the Tuscola side), Mule. If you aren't too injured over all this, I am sure you are about to tell us a million excuses. I also wouldn't be surprised if you go silent because you often do and pretend things like this never happened.

We just kicked their butt in every area.
Offensive and defensive line absolutely imposed their will on the Mounties. Our linebackers were cracking skulls. Our secondary looked like the Legion of Boom out there. Offensively, Henson was gashing them running the ball, Davis showed their corners who was boss, and Wike picked them apart like it was a 7 on 7. And do I need to even start with coaching? Our offensive play calling was genius, and left Tuscola confused and eating our dust. Defensively, we made them pass, which if you can force a Tuscola team to do that, you've already won. This game left me excited to see what happens the rest of non-conference playing RS Central, Greeneville, and Polk. Tuscola will be lucky to finish in the top half of their conference

A lot of times you can blame a loss on refs, turnovers luck or a number of other things. Not tonight. Tuscola was outplayed. Period. The bye week may have hurt, who knows. I didn't see the want to in the Mounties. Congrats.
And outcoached. When chapel came to canton he embraced the rivalry. This coach has snubbed it every year he has been here and it shows. ITS NOT JUST ANOTHER GAME!!!!!Congrats to the bears. Yall obviously wanted it more. Good luck the rest of the way.

Greeneville is 3-0 a big 4A school. No doubt they will be tough.RS and Polk are games we should win.Think the conference championship is between Franklin and the Bears, with Hendersonville probably in the mix.Of course it's early and a lot of things could change.

It just seemed to me that the Bears came to play and Tuscola didn't.Tuscola never changes from year to year the same plays .Like someone said you stop the run .You win.Wish them the best rest of season.

I agree PB. Stevie wonder could of stopped our offense last night.
Our side has some serious soul searching to do to find out where our spirit went. Either this game matters like it should or it don't. One thing chapel has done that I am a fan of is he reaches back thru the middle school and beyond into youth ,and the community is behind him. We don't have as much of that anymore. And it shows:(

The kids can only be told "it's just another game" so long and they start believing it. I'm I the only one that will get on here and call a spade a spade? The old guys gotta go. There's 9 games left. There's still time to save the season. Send him back to the country club TODAY! Best half of football we've played since he got here was two years ago at Swain. Oh that's right.... he was EJECTED that game. Postell called the plays. Name him interim for the next 9 games and let the chips fall where they may.

Almost forgot, I heard the post game speech was a reeeeeaaaalllll knee slapped. SMH

How bout your perfect boys tearing apart and vandalizing the visitor's dugout at our baseball field Mule? This was your team not fans. How bout that Mule? Class personified. You guys like to think you're superior in so many ways don't ya? Guess what. You're just like us. And back when you somewhat admitted that it was a lot more fun. We have picking in the park, you have HART. We have a labor day parade, you have the Folkmoot Parade. We have the big Mill, you have High Country. We have Southern Porch, you have Birchwood Hall. We have bluegrass, you have chamber music. We're just not ashamed of who and what we are and don't try to cover it up. I don't think Waynesville even remembers what they are anymore. Not enough natives left to remember. Sadly.

How bout your perfect boys tearing apart and vandalizing the visitor's dugout at our baseball field Mule? Why what a shame! When did this happen, and by whom? Specifically? If you saw it why didnt you turn these vandals in to the proper authorities or even the police? If your claim of vandalism did happen, and you didnt pursue it with the proper authorities, whose fault is that?

Maybe they can hire you as a consultant and speech writer?

Mule I have a vandalism to report by my Black Bears. It occurred approximately between the hours of 7:30-10 at CE Weatherby stadium in the form of BEARNADO!!! MOUNTIES WERE MAULED AND LEFT STREWN ALL OVER THE FIELD!!! THERE WERE NO SURVIVORS!!! Hopefully you can take this information to the proper authorities and the people responsible can be held accountable.

Or just maybe mule we can get back to being a football town like we used to be.A one sided rivalry isn't a rivalry. It's called getting your butt kicked. You either accept it or do something about it.So I ask our side once again.....Is it just another game? Like our boys have been told?Or does it matter?

A healthy rivalry is a good thing. It fuels the spirit. It gives people something to strive to achieve. I hope this doesn't become "just another game". I don't want the #1 Rivalry to fade away.

Our new "Sheriff" was in the middle of our post game celebration leading the cheers with our players and cheerleaders. I think she is going to get along just fine with our coaches and players.
Sorry Black Bear, my response was to Shinetime, not you. He was the one that originally posted that comment.

Hahahahaha!!! I'm sure Whoajack---'s superior investigative reporting skills will have the FBI, the Secret Service, the US Marshall's and Interpol on the case in no time:rolleyes::cool:

Absolutely. We may talk trash and all but it really pains me to look across the field and see half to a third of Tuscola's reserved seats empty. That's not good for the health of our sport or rivalry. I would love for both teams to be undefeated every year other than the loser of this game. That would be great for the health of this rivalry. Let's hope that Tuscola fans come back and get behind their team so this doesn't fade away.

I agree with you.I also wonder why they never sold one game ticket for those that were not reserved, like we do at Canton. If Waynesville fans never wanted them I am sure a lot of us in Canton would. That's beats having to show up three hours early to get a seat.

Now that's an idea right there. I'd buy em to make sure I had a seat. Plus it's be a lot if fun watching their faces as Pisgah fans filled the home side of their stadium.

JMO, but I think very few high school teams have the support they once had. Most stadiums have at least one-third of their seats empty. One problem that Tuscola has, besides the fact that the town has changed over the years, is that a large number of alumni have moved away in order to find a job that they can support their families with. My kids will likely do the same; they don't have much choice with the focus in Haywood County on tourism. It stinks that more kids can't stay here and make a living.

The old school fan base for THS has definitely been diminished by jobs going away, and outsiders moving into Waynesville. The Waynesville commuity just doesn't support THS nearly as much anymore. Just look at the two teams's football calendars for this season. The PHS calendar has 2 or 3 times more businesses advertising on the calendar vs. the THS calendar. And it sure doesn't help that your head coach and the beat writer covering your team downplay the rivalry at every opportunity. It's sad really.

Shine Time, that's the smartest comment you've made on this thread.;) Yes, both teams have seen a drop in attendance. I think most Pisgah fans keep up with how the team is doing tho and show up when it matters.
9975, I noticed how many Waynesville businesses were advertising on the calender too. I thought wow, now that's a little strange.

"Is it just another game? Like our boys have been told?Or does it matter?" As compared to nine conference games? Yes, in fact it IS just one of 11 games, and of no more or less importance as far as Tuscola's playoff prospects are concerned this year than those other games. A valid argument is that it would be better to win conference games than NON-conference games, rivalry notwithstanding. Some of you are just going to have to accept that this game simply means more to Pisgah than it does to Tuscola, for many reasons. The biggest one is that Pisgah fans are PISGAH fans, they grew up there, STILL LIVE THERE, and their support is generational, regardless of whether they have kids or relatives playing in this rivalry or not. They STILL come and support. On the other hand, the overwhelming majority of Tuscola fans are Jimmy Johnny and Suzie fans first, and Tuscola fans second, if at all. The school they play for is immaterial at best. Doubt this? Look at how many in the stands who are there to see THEIR kids, or close relatives' kids playing, They never miss and appear to be loyal supporters when THEIR kids they want to watch play are there. When they are gone, for whatever reason, they all too often never darken the gate of any Tuscola field or court from that point on. This mindset is the result of the gradual erosion of the traditional fan base as people who are not from Waynesville move in, with no lifelong allegiances, while Waynesville natives too often move away just about as soon as they can find the price of a ticket. And never return until they die, if then. If this is true, how in the world can ANYBODY expect to find many "diehard Tuscola fans?" The overwhelming majority of those that remain dont care about this rivalry, especially, but they DO care about the Jimmys Johnnys or Suzies who PLAY in it. Nothing more, nothing less. THAT is your typical Tuscola fan these days, but that mindset is more of the rule than the exception at most schools these days. Fact is, Pisgah fans are the exception. This is why that one game DOES mean more to them and that is just how it is.
