Reidsville # 1 Seed is bogus….again.

I guess we do have a pretty good RPI !!!! Strange how that happened. What does it take to be above average? I guess now the opposition will just be down 10 walking on the field. Our average winning margin is 35. How many games have you watched our average team play?
I don't go by RPI, I coach for a living and I have nothing but the up most respect for the Reidsville pedigree. However when I look at the non conference opponents 5-5, 3-7, 3-7, and the one team that was 7-3 is your RPI! Always remember that styles make fights! Everyone is running the spread and the fitness style makes your defense soft. When I look at Reidsville as a entire time they have been built off QBs. You don't have that anymore. I know that because I saw it with my own eyes. I watched the entire game against Walkertown. Your offensive line will be your down fall this year. Your passing game will be another part that teams will see. I never said that they are not good but they are average. That conference is weak and averaging 35 is just an illusion in high school. Everyone knows if you are beating a team or losing to a team kids will give up in later quarters. Walkertown made 2 big mistakes that changed the complexity of that game. Not to say they were winning at half. Your young RB is why you won. I think that any team that is good in the fronts are above average. You have size on d-line but depth will definitely be your problem and that is why I said average. This team is not as good as the team that lost to East Duplin, and East Duplin was not the number seed in the East.
Much Respect,

Much Respect,

You make some very valid points, but I really think you are underestimating Neal as a QB. Walkertown was probably his worst outing all season. The passing game was out of rhythm, and I think he may have had some injury issues that game.

Blessed with some of the best pass receivers in the state, Neal has completed an amazing 76 percent of his passes (143 of 188) with only two picks. Totals are 2019 yards and 26 touchdowns. His scrambling ability is second to none and he distributes the ball like a great point guard (which he is). Not bad for a first-year starter who is still one of he best defensive backs in the state and could be a top wide receiver.
Side note: last year's Ram starter Al Lee (actually a three-year starter) has recently stepped into a leading role at Barton. He had two TD passes and 215 yards in a win over Catawba two weeks ago and followed with a 165-yard passing effort in a loss to Limestone. Barton has one more game this Saturday.

We still had that game pretty much wrapped up in the 2nd half. Very easily could have been a 3td win.

Understood, I like him as a QB, I just don't know if he can beat you throwing the ball 20 plus times. He is the fastest player on the field but teams are going to play Penny coverage and start blitzing him to his left. If Reidsville run more QB iso and power read, I think that would be the solution for them in order for them to make a serious run. I thought Walkertown D-line played better and they caused that out of rhythm. Either way, I wish them the best!

Reidsville might be throwing it 40 times with the loss of 1500-yard RB to IR.

How long?
Cobb, who has committed to Air Force, expected to be good as new next year after breaking collarbone in game 10. And there's nobody else with more than a few carries. Seeing who steps up in the running game is the BIG question going into post-season.

That will be the big question to see how it looks tomorrow.

Thinking Henry. But as you said, sound like its more than Cobb thats hurt in the backfield.
Josiah Samolu is another RB, he missed the Morehead game but I don't think it's anything serious because I saw him walking around in the stands and looked like he was ok. He'll probably be a big part of the rotation when he comes back

Many teams are now running spread offenses, which can expose defensive vulnerabilities, especially if the team hasn't adapted to that style of play. The reliance on a strong quarterback legacy is another crucial factor; without a standout QB, it’s challenging for any team to maintain its previous level of excellence. Watching the game against Walkertown, it was evident that the offensive line struggled at times, which could indeed be a critical factor as the season progresses. Having size is one thing, but sustaining performance throughout the game is another challenge altogether, especially against teams with robust offensive fronts.

Looks like AI wrote that.

Im sorry your team is trash and cant even get blue jerseys that match their pants

And it's basketball that pays, not football.
You feel better calling a group of hard-working young men and coaches' trash? And not only that, doubling down on your ignorance by making fun of their uniforms? I make it a point not to argue with kids on message boards, but I just couldn't let this one slip by.

BTW, you really should proofread your post before hitting POST REPLY. Your grammar and spelling are really showing your level of intelligence...or the lack thereof.

You cant take a little TRASH talk on a message board... But will be trash yourself and insinuate Reidsville football players are getting paid?

We have said this for years.

Reidsville piled up many previous championships without having to play other greats in the state within their classification.
They avoided them by either membership in a rival association, or by sub classification where 50% of same size schools in the state were dodged.
Did they play and win against what was placed in front of them by others?
Of course they did.
But they have never proven or established themselves as the self proclaimed “capitol (sic)” of anything.
Reidsville went 31 consecutive recent years without a title or even a title game appearance.

So what has happened in these four years where the classes had unified titles and Reidsville had to play in a format that included ALL similar sized schools in the state.

1 for 4.

And with Shelby winning its fourth unified title as Reidsville won its first during this period.

Without question, the 2023 Reidsville squad was a super team, probably the best across all classes. We acknowledge greatness.
But you are not the “capitol (sic)” of anything.

And tonight you lose in the second round to East Rutherford.
It should be noted, that outside of our consistently winning 3 Cleveland County rivals, East Rutherford is geographically the next closest NC high school to Shelby.
We have played them forever, mostly as conference opponents.
We are not surprised they beat you tonight.
You play nobody in conference or out, and get rewarded with another #1 seed.
You benefit enormously from the weakness of teams in your area.

Another point.
We challenged years ago whether Reidsville’s recent resurgent success would continue beyond Coach Teague Sr’s tenure.
Will history show he was the dominant factor and the program will suffer significantly with his departure.
By comparison, the Shelby program has enjoyed multiple titles under each of the 5 recent head coaches, going all the way back to 1955.
That is a program DYNASTY.
No gaps, no let ups.
Can Teague Jr do it? Can his successor?
Still a lot to prove before talking the capitol nonsense.

Finally, a significant number of the current Golden Lion squad did not celebrate your loss tonight.
They wanted the shot at you this year as repayment for last year’s defeat.
And we are now all aware that realignment has conveniently placed Reidsville safely away from any rematches with Shelby for the next four years. By one spot.
Essentially, the realignment is nothing more than a reset of the subclasses where 3 of your titles were opposite of 3 of Shelby’s, and Shelby clearly was dominant.
It continues to pay off for Reidsville’s own Que Tucker to head the association and subtly assist “ her team”.

So while it is easy enough for us to prove your self proclaimed claim is bogus….
It’s much better to watch you prove it for us.

The Shelby Golden Lions.
The True Dynasty.
The most successful, sustained, winningest high school football program in North Carolina.

I can honestly say from recruiting them Reidsville is a good but not a number one seed in my opinion. After watching them against Walkertown, I thought they were at best average. Not having a true QB will hurt them in the later rounds if not 3 round. I do respect the true pride that they bring to every game and to be honest most teams that play Reidsville are down 14 to nothing mentally before they step on the field. This is the first time I have every seen them look this short on both sides of the ball. They don't have much depth and whenever you got your QB playing defense too, that is something to be said about. Offensive line is small but the d-line has some size. They will still be a hard out but if you can run at them they will have issues just because they don't have enough depth to make this run this year.

This... was inevitable.
