Ledford vs ND
CD vs OG
MC vs Aboro

Central and Oak Grove is the big game this week. Central probably won't win but they made it interesting last year so OG can't afford to overlook them by any stretch. Were Central to actually win, it would create a tie, possibly three way tie with Ledford for the conference title. I think OG has too much offense and their defense can slow the Central double wing. We shall see.

North is a big underdog to Ledford. The running back came back last week for the Panthers and showed out with what, 6 or 7 TDs? North will be hard pressed to stop Ledford and must be clicking on all cylinders to outscore them.

MC and Aboro clash in the annual toilet bowl. Aboro has not won a game in conference since realignment began. MC takes it once again unless Aboro can get some accuracy on those long balls.

You’re correct. The final score was 16-14, in favor of Oak Grove.
Central was stronger last year (8-3 with a competitive first round playoff loss - 41-38 to Smoky Mountain), but they despise Oak Grove. Even at 5-3 so far this year, this is their Super Bowl.

Probably correct, but CD definitely upgraded their non conference schedule this year, by replacing S. Stanley and W. Wilkes with Monroe and Culbertson

CD w onside kick and recovery, drove down and scored. CD - 7, OG - 0. 6:44 left in 1

ND and Ledford scoreless at the end of the 1st qtr. Ledford rushing for over 100 yards and North negative total yards

Black Knights drive quickly down the field before halftime and score with a TD pass. 14-7 Ledford

Ledford misses field goal as time expires. 14-7 Ledford at the half. North with back to back penalties and an ejection to help get Ledford down the field.

Ledford cashes in another one with about a minute left to make it 35-7. What an embarrassment lol

Well OG is the conference champion but man another ugly game heading into the playoffs. Well, what we are is what we’ll be from here on so let’s see.

Yeah, I’ve noticed it takes them a bit to get going on offense which will kill them in the playoffs. Hoping they focus on starting from the opening whistle….. at least we’ll have a few home games (depending on how deep we go).

The problem last night was getting off the field on defense early on, which will cost you half the game in clock against Central and that antiquated offense. But point taken. A slow start against a team like Dudley would be a disaster.
Gotta take it one game at a time and take no one for granted. Just getting to round 3 this year would be progress for a still young program. Great job by Holcomb and now Creason.

Agreed all around!!

Gotta say, the coaching made some good adjustments at half last night on Defense as well. I’ve enjoyed the season, hoping for at least 2-3 more games, would love to see a deeper run.

The OG defense played really well. Close game until the pick 6 and another big CD fumble. Central is a pretty good team. OG has more athletes and could go a few rounds in the playoffs.

Rob has done a really good job this season for OG for sure. Congrats to Ledford for whipping NORTH. What time are brackets sorted out?

North with back to back 3 win seasons for first time since 95-96. In 94 we only won one game. Big difference in those days... we were playing 4A ball against some powerhouse programs and one of if not the smallest 4A school in the state. Norths defense used to be dependable even in bad years. Whoever the next coach is should clean house on that side of the ball. Giving up 25-30 ppg three years in a row is inexcusable... North has never lost to both Central and Ledford two years in a row. This might not be the worst North team in history but it's way down there. Beating Walkertown, MC and Aboro don't mean jack.

As far as OG is concerned... congrats to Rob for winning the outright conference title, he and OG deserve to be proud. I know OG wants to take the next step and establish their legitimate claim as a respected program in the 3A ranks. That will require winning more than one playoff game and making a deep run. Could they do it this year? I think so... the line is impressive on both sides of the ball, they are physical and fundamentally sound, products of quality coaching. They may lack for total team speed (just like North and Ledford historically which is their ancestry as a school) but they don't make many stupid mistakes to beat themselves.

Just take it a game at a time. It's a new season now. Congrats to the Grizzlies once again.

Centrals offense may be "antiquated" but it's a heck of a lot better looking than that "modern" offense that Aboro or MC run lol. Its all about putting your boys in the best position to be successful which is more than can be said for half this conference...
