My oldest brother used too was also at one time but bigger on fishing had the bass boats fishing tournaments and all but work got in the way for him plus as far as the hunting got tied of the sitting in a tree freezing his butt off.

I just can’t believe how many 1A schools there are in NC!! We have I think 43 total for the d tire state of WV in single A. I think our enrollment number is from 450 maybe 400 and down? I sure enjoy this sight!There are 3, 2A schools and 2, 1A football schools in Surry County that have all been in the same conference at times over the years. All within 10 miles of each other except Elkin They are in 2 different conferences now. 1A East Surry was Mount Airy's biggest rivalry for years but they went 2A this year and headed to the 4th round Friday of the 4A playoffs. The SMC NWC & Mitchell have met many times over the years in the rounds leading up to the western Champions that meet the east for the State championship. We have all been chatting for years.Almost like we know one another. LOL, I think the last 4 years it has been the SMC vs NWC for the west or played on the way, but Mitchell may have a say this year, and not sure the name of their 1A/2A conference. When I pulled it up this year to see the standings it said 1A/2A West Conference 42. Someone from Mitchell & the SMC can add more from their side.

I could only find it this way and could not find that. Same thing but just has Mount Airy vs Murphy. Yours shows all 4 games.The Computer predictions one is MasseyRatings and the other Calpreps.

The response is they smack back harder. Ask the SMC that have come here to play. Mount Airy holds a few game edges over them.

You can geat stuff downtown Mount Airy, you want find anywhere else. Lots of Antiques and many different Andy Griffith items and the Andy Griffith Museum & Bronzes actual size statue of Andy & Opie going fishing. Around 4 squad cars year and model used in the Andy Griffith Show. Also the Simeese Twins section beside the Andy Griffith Museum. Home Town of Donna Fargo You can't miss the North Carolina Granite Quarry, 5 minutes from downtown Mount Airy. The largest open face above ground Quarry in the world. 1 mile long and 1/3 mile wide of solid granite that can be seen from the space station. That's above ground but the whole town is setting on granite a few feet underground. You should stay the night and some of us could meet up and give you the grand tour of Mayberry, jail, Wally's station, or You can take a squad car tour of Mayberry and go by Andy's old home place.

Good Game but the Bears won in a dog fight then lost the state SHIP by 1 in OT. BUT they won the State Champion in 2008 blowing all 16 teams out and scoring the 2nd or 3rd highest points in the states history including 1A through 4A of 845 points. Albemarle was a few points above us in 1st place several years before.

By the way, I came to the Robbinsville board and you ask me not to come posting there. You are welcome to this thread to post all you want. We may be talking a lot next week but don't let your mouth overload your rear buns or AZZ because you will be playing in our Wally Shelton Granite BEAR Stadium if it works out that way.
