The Museum in Downtown Mt Airy is very good and you must go to the NC Granite Quarry just, and I mean just, outside of town. World's largest Open Pit Granite Mine. It is still active and will be until it runs out of granite in 5 or 6 thousand years.
Go downtown you will see alot. You can take a ride in one of the old police cars from the show and takes u on tour. Also go see statue of Opie and Andy. All this stuff makes most Ma residents sick but it's great for tourist.

Mountain born and bred, lived in these here hills all my life, raised my kids here and like seeing mountain teams do well. But like I have said already and I aint a gonna wander from it now, Mount Airy is the team the beat in 1a football, facts are facts. My prediction is MA by 7 however, I will make another prediction. Whichever team wins this game will win the ship, IMO. Good luck to both teams for an injury free game.

We heard 3, nothing remotely close. We did see a squirrel so I guess that's something lol.
Heard 3 shots no one I have talked to from Red Hill to Fk Mountain to Cane ClK, White Oak To Penland has heard many shots and very few deer seen.

From just an outsider looking (I live in West Virginia) in, this is the best thread all year! I love getting on here and seeing how the western side is doing. Good luck to both teams and I am even thinking about coming down and bringing my kids too, lol! The school I played for is the Ritchie County Rebels. We are in the small classification called Single A. We are just about 40 students smaller then Robbinsville. We are getting to host a state semi final game for the first time in school history. Win this one and we go to the state championship. You guys get me so fired up and positive I swear it carries over and brings the Rebs luck, lol! Thanks for being a class act snd showing how to do high school football right!!! Good luck to everyone deer hunting and ya’ll have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

I thought of that when I listed the places to eat but there is always such a line and wait, I didn't figure they would want the wait. But the food is great, steaks & seafood plus many other foods. Most are making appointments from what I hear because of COVID. Home Town Restaurant. Southbound lane US-52 South.
