On points, if you divide 666 by 13 wins, you get 51.23076923076923 Bear points scored, and seems you left of points scored against each team. Would you please add those stats to?
Mount Airy
PF666, 13 game average 51.23076923076923
PA25, less than 2 points per game average
STREAK 13W
Mitchell
PF535 , 11 Game average 41.15384615384615
PA183 , 16.63636363636364 points per game average
STREAK 9W
Now Subtract 25 from Mount Airy's 666
and Subtract 183 from 535 and give us those stats. ;) ;) ;) :):)
I didn't add anything that's straight off MaxPreps if wrong it them. It's just a two year degree but I have one in electronics engineering and took enough math were I probably could have figured out it I'd done it myself.😉
Below they do have average box scores by quarter were they do have 51.2 so I don't know why they had 45 on the other part.
Mitchell
1st......2nd....3rd...4th...Total
14.6 / 15.3./ 6.8/ 6.8 / 41.2
Mount Airy
19.5 / 16.9 / 8.8 / 6.4/ 51.2

I'm hunting all week they were moving good this evening
So that's why they had that special News Break saying a huge herd of Bear was headed down the Mountain toward Mount Airy because they knew your area was really unsafe this week with you out with a rifle. These Mount Airy Bears is all you need to worry about, keep your cool

Did you miss these stats?
Now Subtract 25 from Mount Airy's 666 = 641 points above opponents.
and Mitchell Subtract 183 from 535 = 325 points above opponents, and are any of those 3A, 4A teams still playing. Don't make me go look, I will rub it on thick if I have to look. Just a yes or no will do.

I assume you're wanting points allowed per game which is MA 1.9 and Mitchell 14.
As to the 3A 4A non-conference teams no they're not in the playoffs anymore nether is the two 2A 1A and 3A teams MA played ether we both beat the 1A badly the 2A teams who barely got in got beat badly in the 1st round and the 3A didn't get in and was beaten by the 4A school Mitchell beat twice 54-7 & 48-0.

Great job ! Old Mountaineer !
I had the 3A, 4A brackets ready to post. ;)

Y’all are good we’re not denying it. We’re ok too
It's the teams that will play and decide. We are just a bunch of has been on here have a good time at our game we play every week. Speaking for myself when I said has been. Newspaper Photographer for about 9 years in the 1990s.
I was the photographer and darkroom tech. I was the last full-time photographer& darkroom tech they had. I left for another job because I could see the advertising staff getting digital cameras and I knew the darkroom would go so I became a car salesman and then a Neighbor's Convenience Store manager and let being a photographer 2nd to my other jobs and give it up after shooting some weddings which I was doing while working for the newspaper and my son's wedding was about 9 years ago and went and shot a couple of Mount Airy football games around 2012 and I have not touched my camera much sense.

Whatever happened to Sylvia Webster. I remember coming to the playoffs while working for the newspaper. Were they the school close to WCU? I remember one school and may be wrong but the sportswriter always rode with me and seems maybe be Spruce Pines, but we parked in a parking lot way above the field and went down a huge bank or maybe steps to the field. If steps they had to be 60 plus as I remember. Before working there I went to all the MA playoffs when MA was 2A and 3A. That was the good ole years, long gone.

They're Smoky Mountain now
consolidation of Sylva-Webster High School and Cullowhee High School in 1988

Td you seem like a good guy. You should come out to the game Friday
Thanks to you and Purple1995 for asking but I can't deal with the cold. If I could deal with it I would set on Murphy's side and yell as loud as I could, GO BEARS. LOL. They would have to stop the game so the rescue squad could come to carry this beat-up ole man out. LOL Kidding I would set where I belong with the BEAR Nation and be safe.

Spruce pine was Harris high school probably around 1973. Harris qb was coach Snyder. My uncle always said if he hadn’t broken his arm that game Harris would’ve beaten slyva

So I came to that game before becoming the News Photographer. I had been going to games since the mid-1960s. But it is just as exciting for me now sitting at the radio. The only thing is I can't see when something happens but one of the radio announcers knows the Bears and their game, he tells us on the radio before the refs do what a penalty is and which team it's on. And when the Ref calls it he is right 97% of the time and the other 3% well we just don't understand why he was wrong. LOL, I think he may have spent a lot of time in the 70s & or the 80s with coach Hollingsworth and coaches 2 younger sons and he learned a lot. I told him once he should be coaching. I am sure he would be good at it.

My family especially my girls don't like me going to away games they figure at home there's enough people who know me would take care of me if something happens I've been known not to be able to walk after a game or doing to much plus with the blood thinner , rheumatoid in my blood and arthritis covering my spine ( feel apart early in life) I don't like the cold ether but fortunately I don't listen to them it will probably bite me one day lol. My oldest brother may be going since he'll already be in Wilkes county, I know part of it he wants to see the game but probably part is to keep an eye on me. At the ES game my cousins who live there and one played football there sit on the Mitchell side and had me go home with them over night. I'm like an old man that everyone keeps an eye on and worries about....if they know what I'm doing.

I must be thinking of another school in the 1990s. Dang, I went to so many. I was full-time with the News in the 90s but shot some nighttime sports around 1982 & 1983 but had just got married and the wife didn't like me being gone at night. I kept the Newspaper football writeups from the late 1960s until my wife and I split in 1999 and they disappeared when moved out from each other. LOL, Now I just try to go by memory. WOW, this has been entertaining and bringing back great memories. Sorry I got off-topic. Not often do I get a chance to have someone interested in listening. Going to finish watching a 2-hour movie on Netflix at 7:30 in 10 to 15-minute segments pausing every 10 to 15-minute.

Be careful and safe. I hope you don't have lightheaded spells like me when you go to turn around or step in a low spot and lose your balance.

Mitchell played slyva in the 80s
They played them in the 70's as well..my oldest brother was co-captain on the first Mitchell team in '75 and they played slyva one of the Streeter bothers was on it, my brother say the only time he was able to touch him was when they shook hands in the middle of the field at the coin toss.

I get them some not often the rheumatoid mostly just makes me fatigued some days. My walking issues comes from my back degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis from lower back to my neck it has eaten and thinned some of the disc and collapsed the vertebrates on the nerves plus 4 lower back surgeries 1 for ruptured disc 1 for that disc breaking having to move the spine over to get it out and 2 for MRSA on the spine has left my left sciatic nerve incased in scar tissue so when I move it pulls on the nerve and if I do to much sometimes the leg just quits working and down I go or I get home sit down and can't stand again for a while.

As I said, you be careful and keep someone with you at these games. A tumbledown those bleachers would be no fun.

I don't like to admit it but starting about 5 or 6 years ago I started getting really depressed in the winter, from about now until maybe mid-to-late March. Seems to get worse every year. A part-time job I can do would probably help tremendously. Staying home 24/7 is not good for anyone It is a job and more depressing these days getting out finding one. I don't try anymore because I have always done light jobs that didn't bother my back and nothing available with only the hours I need, 15 to 18. getting old is HELL on earth, LOL......
Actually come to think of it, I have told no one, not even my son any of my being depression or health problems. Don't want him worrying. He knows non of my problems. He and his wife and 2 kids are all the Family I have except a half-sister that lives in Hampton, VA

I hope no one gets mad with our off-subject talk but it has really helped me to get some things out of only me knowing of my problems. Plus I think most work tomorrow and cut out early. This has helped me and if not for being sleepy, I could go on much longer. I am going to finish the last 28 minutes of Olympus Has Fallen. Saw it about 5 years ago and liked it so watching it again.
WELL, I GOT IT ALL OUT. Will it help? Only time will tell. Probably get slammed from a lot Monday for telling. Can I take it ? I really can't say !

The description of the parking lot and basically walking off into a hole describes mountain Heritage they hosted the bandys I know in 93?

It would do you a world of good to dress warm and come to the game for at least a half a few of us would like to meet you old timer

My original post about feeding Mitchell players was in jest, of course. But...

What if several of us Mt Airy fans got together and fixed something.. big pot of beans, soup, spaghetti, etc...
had it ready at say 5 or 5:30.

What would everyone think about that?
There would have to be some real arranging to do but I would help get it together? Cost of a $1.00 per person might cover the cost.
Just a idea and thought.
