If Mack wants to get pissed at something have him get pissed at the ridiculous dancing and flexing these guys do after the one TFL they have had in this game. They have gotten an absolute ass whipping upfront and their dancing and doing the " not on me" head shake after they make a tackle. It's an embarrassing performance and their trying to look good for the highlight film.

Well, two weeks to game prep and ND comes in and runs all over us 😂. Sometimes you just gotta laugh.
Going to beat UK this year? I think that's your test in the east other than UGA, obviously, as crazy as it sounds, they're well coached.
What’s strange about that game Kentucky has had better teams over the past years but not been able to beat the Vols.
We have VT at home next week. This is one of the least talented VT teams I've ever seen. Bad OL, QB is not great, if our defense can't win that match-up, I won't know what to think.
UNC was the exact medicine that a poorly performing and depleted ND team needed. It appears this may be the second UNC DC that these unbelievable talented kids might get fired..UNC is very lucky that they get to play in the JV division. The two toughest games on tier schedule are against Wake and State.. they may end up being the worst 7-5 or 8-4 team of all time.
Lets be accurate...since the division were split State is 23-21 against the JV division and UNC is 19-23 against the varsity. and I was kind enough not to count the vacated games from cheating.
In this years preseason games, before you get into the conference schedule, you are 123 out of 131 in total defense during a time when you are supposed to be padding your stats. Tonights game against Notre Dame will probably knock you down further. Tonight was a first, because I can not remember when I have ever seen a team come to line of scrimmage so many times in a row, tell you where they are running and another Power program could not stop them. That had to hurt. Never seen that before, especially to a team that struggled to move the ball the last three games they played. I mean to gain 250 more yards than they were averaging over defensive juggernauts like Cal and Marshall. That UNC defense or what ever you want to call it was some good medicine for Notre Dame. .
If your main point is that UNC has a bad defense, then yeah I'm with you there. I said as much earlier. Mack 2.0 is looking like it might die on the vine because he's loyal to fault, and has made bad decisions re his coaches. I just thought the JV division comment was funny given Doeren has a losing record against the Coastal 🤷🏻♂️. You gotta admit it kinda was!

You act like the DC is putting these unbelievable talented kids in position to succeed with these schemes. 3rd and medium, let's put the defender 11 yards behind scrimmage and have him back pedal at the snap. On short down and distances, let's go nickel and have extra DB's against the run because those DB's sure love to stop the run. Do the kids share some of the blame? Damn straight. But let's not act like there isn't blame to go all around. We're all in agreement about the defense as we've been talking about it all night so your comments aren't going to do what you think they are.

For the Heels right now, it’ll come down to, can their offense score more points than their defense decides to give up, week to week. 🤷🏾♂️
You have a better understanding than most. Are they not playing those elite defensive guys they recruited?
Shaw got 19 snaps, Silver and KBJ received 3 snaps combined. Playing nickel defense in run situations against a bruising tailback was some kinda decision. At this point, just onside kick it after every score and they'll have a better shot at stopping the other team.
State has had some not so great defenses as well. Probably not as bad as ours. But Vonte and MC ran all over them couple years ago, Sam had a big game against them, then there was the year we dropped 35 on them in the first quarter.
Position coaches have to take alot of heat as well. Tackling. Terrible angles. Shaw stands straight up at snap and was 6 yards downfield on a bunch of inside runs. They were mauled up front the entire 2nd half.
Strength and conditioning is also a big problem in addition to the culture.
ND ran something like 85 plays. Hard to stay in the game when they're running the ball 50 times for 5-6 yds a pop.

I'd imagine about as many as UNC will put on the Wake defense.
I thought is was a silly comeback from a homer who does not realize how much the easier schedule has helped the heels over the years. That was my point. As far the defense goes, they just have few tweaks to do to become a top fight defense because of Mac 2.0 talent. But I digress.. back to the original point that was made and you tried to deflect.
Six ACC teams ranked in the top twenty five today... only one in the JV division @ 24... five in the varsity division and two in the top 10. Just look at the schedules for UNC and State the next three weeks. .. State has three undefeated ranked teams to play in the next three weeks. It is a big challenge. UNC plays three teams with new coaches and two of them not named Duke are struggling with terrible offenses. Now that does not even count getting to play the dumpster fires that are GT or UVA. Who nows maybe those programs get healthy on the same medicine that gave Notre Dame some relief. It appears the schedule is just weak enough so that Mac can hide the real problem with his team..

Yes the JV division goes away next year, but we get Clemson you get UVA.. easy to say who has the more challenging schedule on that swap.
Let's be honest. It's all JV. Clemson is the best there secondary looked worse the UNC"s . State is going to Death Valley and winning.

You're going to have to go through Clemson either way if you want to win anything. Have a ton of respect for some of what State has accomplished. But you gotta lose this victim mentality.
That looks like a pipe dream. What Wake did to attack them is not in States arsenal. There are no bullets in the gun to do what WF did to Clemson. Now State can play JV teams and score on them but not so sure State can handle a big boy defense. For State to be successful against Clemson they will have to keep the ball more than they have to keep the defense fresh and they will need some big plays which so far seem to be missing.
