Mack is Back Part 2

They are making an impact. But they're young and inexperienced which is why they haven't seen the field as much as we'd like. Right now, you have super seniors, that because of the extra year granted due to Covid, are basically grown men that have been around the block, and you have Covid freshmen/sophomores that didn't have a normal transition from HS to CFB. There's a big difference between the two.

For these guys to not really be that good, all three rating services would've had to have gotten it wrong, about 30 separate times, all the other big schools that offered them scholarships would've had to have missed on evaluations. Like I said, the talent is there.

As for Shaw...We need a true NT in the worst way. Not an end that gets moved inside. An SEC type NT for this defense is what weed. BUT we need all the help we can get on the OL too. I know we're recruiting his teammate as an OT.
Think they might flip Gunner from VT.

I spent all my luck and good fortune on the Braves winning the World Series this year. That cost me. Most of the other teams I've pulled for since have lost.

I think he could make a good IOL. The HS he plays for doesn't face a lot of good competition imo. HS football, overall, in VA seems to be down. Most all of their top schools lost big games to out-of-state opponents. Highland Springs, Salem - schools that typically dominate in-state.

Freeman will be coming to town next year.. so I will probably go visit... just to see the carnage and the distinct difference between an overweight old worn out football recruiter who and a young energetic coach who recruits even better than the old guy. It should be an enjoyable day. 37 pages of MACK is back is at an old time low 3-5 5-6 ( scrimmages don't count) Bowl game might great for UNC as it will give the young guys some time to learn the culture of UNC football.

Gotcha. Go Heels!

I see Howell is gonna play. You think he is thinking about staying?
It's a weak class this year but his stock has fallen off. I think it's going to be weak again next year and he'll have a lot more talent around him next year to build that stock back up. We'll find out soon enough but I love Maye's upside, whenever his time comes.

It paid off for Pickett coming back. He had a great year.

Sam Howell's first game was a win against South Carolina in Charlotte. Sam Howell's last game might be a win against South Carolina in Charlotte.

Will be fun as New Bern's own, Montario Hardesty, is the RB's coach over at South Carolina. He had over 1,600 total yards and 14 TD's at Tennessee back in 2009. Got drafted in the 2nd round by the Browns.

Could've been a lot worse. Great opportunity to practice another 13 times and get some good reps for the young guys. Go Heels!

You couldn't ask for more given our season - in Charlotte, as opposed to Shreveport, or some west coast city where no one really cares about college games, and a SEC opponent. Need to win, though, and it's not a great matchup for our OL.

Agreed. As far as the game, their offense is not very good but I think we'll be fine in the run game with Chandler and Brooks as Brooks is running like a man possessed lately. Looking forward to it.

Yup, was thinking the same thing. I see Jurkovec coming back.
Also think if Hooker comes back with another year in Heupels offense will help his draft stock. The only thing is Hooker will be 24 in January.

Simpson to UNC

Clemson is done, on the field and off. Recuits will start leaving by the dozen.....

Clemson was his dream school right? I'd be kinda surprised to see him leave at this point. I know they preach the whole date the coach, but marry the school, family thing. But I'm sure @nepsy7 knows more than I do.

His mother is very tight lipped about his decision. I've heard numerous rumors. :) I personally have no clue. Tony Elliot allegedly top candidate for the Duke job. Huge lost for Clemson.
Clemson fans will be happy Tony Elliot is gone. Very thankful Elliot didn’t take the TN job.

I had some real concerns how they were using him at mid season. He wasn't getting very many snaps and it was mostly in coverage, but the last 5 games they really turned him loose and he was their best defender on the field.
