With Mack they will be ranked in the preseason top 10 again. They better get some transfers or it is going to be a long year... there only hope is their division has a lot of new coaches and VA,VT,Duke and GT are in turmoil...
Hey I got a couple pages about my Vols. We are terrible in the 2nd quarter. Have been all year.
Can't run the ball and can't stop the run means you're not winning many games. I feel like I said that a few pages back. Still true! 😂😂
Mack is a CEO. Good face for the program. Good recruiter. Good with the donors. But at some point, he's going to have to make some changes to this staff. Quality is on the way, but I'm not sold on a couple of these coaches being able to get the most out of it. If he does, they have a better shot at winning. If not, then there will be more days like today.
Best 1st quarter team in football, then below average after that.

Rulebook says you cant drag a player, which is what the OL did to get him into the end zone. Even if the forward progress wasn't stopped, still should've been a penalty based on the rule.
The guy pulling him, was never really an impact on him crossing the goal line and the whistle was not blown, until after he crossed.
Doesn't matter about the whistle, matters when the ref decided forward progress stopped.
It's a tough call, but it looks like his progression, stops after he crosses the line.
Nope they did not win 10 games.. they did not get to play.. they were awarded the victory by the Holiday bowl.. they were not allowed a chance to win the game. It is kinda like a fight.. I f the other guys does not show up you are awarded the victory but you did not actually get the satisfaction of winning the fight. The results will be that UNC will get a preseason ranking of 10-12 and State will 18-22. UNC will be claiming another recruiting trophy in February but demonstrating underachievement when it counts.... coaching still matters and Mack is Back! !.

They were awarded the victory by their coach. The NCAA considers the game a no contest, not a forfeit. State had a really good season, but they had nine wins, not ten. Doesn’t change the fact that my team, UNC, underperformed drastically and lost to State as well. Credit to the Wolfpack.
The fact Jay Bateman is still the DC after returning 8 starters on defense from last year and allow South Carolina to have over 500 yards of total offense with a coverted Wr playing Qb speaks how bad UNC develops talent. South Carolina played 5 (2) starters and 18 (3) star recruits and absolutely DESICCATED UNC offense and defense.. This is pathetic. Mack don't know what the hell he's doing. We rarely played any of other 4 and 5 star recruits. Embarrassing
the Holiday Bowl awarded State the victory and the trophy. That is where the whole nonsense started from. Doreen just ran with it and I think it is kinda of stupid and I hope it leads to a Kick off game for next year against UCLA since the ACC and Pac 12 are joining forces.

They may have handed them the trophy. But neither the NCAA nor the ACC recognize it as a game. Both still consider State as having a 9-3 record. It’s unfortunate, but that is accurate.
Frankly, I hope not. This transfer portal thing is already out of hand, whether it hurts or helps my team.

Said when they announced the game their DL would be a problem. NFL you can get away with weak OL if you have a good QB/WR tandem. Cincinnati, for instance, passed on a generational OT to take Ja'Marr Chase and they're in the playoffs. But CFB is mostly a LOS game. UNC is soft on both OL and DL. That was evident from game #1. Gave up 300 and rushed for half as much against SC. That is the main problem for them right now. The talent is there for the DL next year. Need a new OL coach to fix the OL.

Looking forward to seeing both OL/DL with new players this year. Rice, Silver, Ritzie, Murphy, Shaw and maybe Sutton/Pounds.
I hope we find a way to use Criswell with the backs we have coming up.
That was the word the last week or so. Also let go of the LB/ST coach as well. Jay made the D way too complicated and the question with him always was can that Army D work in at a P5 school. Let's see who they bring in! Go Heels!
