MA Bears at Eastern Randolph

OMG…
buzz you are, shall we say, enthusiastic..
Like my younguns used to be on Christmas Eve…
Or a virgin getting ready for third date 😂😂
Settle down some big guy…
Eat some turkey and take a nap…
Or watch NFL in your PJs and go to bed REAL early then when you wake up, if you’ve been good all year, maybe you’ll get something special…
Yep virgin analogy work

Watched ER film this morning and man I am impressed with their OL & DL. We hear a lot about how physical the SMC is and justifiably so, BUT ER took it to RVille and was definitely the more physical team. Bears must match their physicality, pretty even in all other areas (speed, athleticism, special teams). This game will be won in the trenches.
MA is physical

Yeah we only had 350 yds rushing...our soft kids need to get tougher and maybe next year will run for 500! Not sure what film you watched but carry on..

MA is very physical...they seem to hone in on your tendencies pretty early in the game..and shut it down pretty good. Hard to imagine a team having their way with them..for an entire game!
MA is going to bring the lumber then?

Yeah MHneer....i have to say..the times that i have watched them...those guys bring it..both sides of the ball...not much finesse..they come straight at ya..the entire game...and wear teams down this year..they seem deep enough to keep players pretty fresh..

The boards have been dead for an hour on tomorrow's games. I guess everyone can't wait and is on their way. LOL
I guess I will sit here and listen to WSYD / WPAQ and post the scores on MaxPrep. I have let the MA posters post scores on NCPrep this year. Going to be a nerve-racking day tomorrow.

Let us back in MA know what kinda crowd the BEARS have at the game with the mild temperatures with it only dropping to 50 degrees around 9pm and 47 at 10pm. Great football weather. I am hoping Draughn beats Andrews so the BEARS will be home the next week if we get by ER.

I hope everyone has had a Happy Thanksgiving.

With that out of the way, I'm going to do something that might actually shock some of the 1A posters. I'm going to talk about the game......

Of course, the main matchup everyone's looking forward to is the MA defense vs. the ER offense. Yes, the MA defense is fast, tough, and dominant. Dandy will be a problem for ER. It'll be interesting to see where MA lines him up and how they move him around.

Unlike the previous three teams that MA has faced, I think that the ER offense can do a much better job of keeping the Bears off-balance. I know some think that Kidd, I, and other ER posters are "taking the piss" when we say no one stands out on offense.......but it's true (unless you're talking about the Wildcats two tiny offensive lineman). ER doesn't have a Mason. However, the Cats do have a multitude of guys that can make a play. Running backs of all shapes/sizes and a few receivers that can make a catch. Yes, Devonte is our "main" option on offense. But.......the Cats are far from dependent on him.

The most intriguing matchup might be the MA offense vs. ER defense. The Bears look like they might run some triple option. I don't think ER's seen a team like that thus far. MA seems to have some pretty decent size in the trenches. ER doesn't have the biggest D-LIne, but it's fairly fast. Look for Julian Brooks and Jani Norwood to be the main disrupters on the D-LIne. ER has a pretty decent back seven. We've had different guys step up recently at those positions.

I've heard a lot about Dandy and Mason, but I think the play of Ian Gallimore and Walker Stroup will be just as important. Gallimore seems like a deceptive, tough QB. Stroup looks like he's MA's version of Devonte (meaning he does a bit of everything).

I don't know who will have the edge on special teams. Both teams have some potentially dangerous weapons.

One of the biggest things I'm interested in will be how the Granite Bears handle themselves mentally. They're in the same boat they were last year at this point. They haven't had a good challenge in quite some time. MA has been so dominant on defense that they probably haven't had much not go their way. How will they respond if/when circumstances turn against them? They also have to go on the road for the first time.

I know one thing.....ER can't give Tyler Mason any space to work with. If he goes off, that won't be a good sign for the Wildcats.

If the game is close, I give ER the edge. The Cats are a little more battle-tested. ER had their own "mental hump" to get over and they did.

Robbinsville was pretty tough in the trenches. They had very few problems going North/South. (except for the last couple of minutes). Other than that, 200% agree with everything you said. Could be a classic.
