Same here. Never had family playing. Just enjoy good football in its purest form. No NIL, contracts, etc outside of the charter schools 😄. After Swain is out I find the best game to go to and usually just find a spot to stand and watch the game and maybe strike up a conversation with whoever is nearby.
You know that’s an interesting question. Truthfully with young men moving all around due to fairly recent injuries there’s no one specific who stands out tremendously. It’s truly been a team coming together.
I'm sorry to horn in on your post, but as a fellow SAC conference person (Catawba) how does Newberry win the conference and not make the playoffs? Do you happen to know the real reason?
I wish I knew and have questioned that myself on D2Football.com. There has been a statement by the NCAA that the Committee followed all the rules but no explanation as of yet to how that happened.
Having said that, there is an unsubstantiated rumor, that Newberry got penalized for a rule violation that took them out of consideration. I do not know more than that but it comes from some sources very close to Newberry.
As a tight Lenoir Rhyne fan and an even bigger fan of the SAC, I want to thank you, greydog86, because I believe the SAC schools and other D2 schools do not get near the credit and exposure that they should. The opportunities they give our high school student athletes is so under valued.
Every time I read on here- so and so is a D1 prospect; they are being looked at by such and such; well let tell you: everyone is being looked at and the overwhelming majority have as much chance of being D1 as I have of going into outer space.
But many have a chance to go somewhere, D2 or D3 and being a part of very good to great programs while getting outstanding education. Catawba has recently received a financial gift that any college or university in the nation would absolutely give their eye teeth for. I have no doubt they will use it wisely.

Buzz your waisting your time..they aren't gonna tell you anything. Most boring fanbase I've ever witnessed on here. If they lose they probably be like "oh well". Your best bet to get info is from a black knight fan. I would tell you but there camera was broke on nfhs so couldnt watch them play robbinsville. Hope y'all beat the breaks off em buzz. Looking forward to watching yall play tarboro in the championship.
Nah not really. Just a decent team of kids that have come together and manage to get by every week. Nothing flashy about it.

Just because we told you to look back at previous posts and you would learn all you needed to, heck even read the write up Chute did on Robbinsville Saturday, but people choose not to click back. If that makes us boring to you and anyone else then ok. Like I used to tell my children, don’t ask us look it up. Info is out there find it.

Well, how about the popcorn at the games? Can any ER fan tell us what to expect? Do we need to take salt to add to the popcorn or is it already salted? Do they have roasted peanuts, which by the way is a requirement to be offered at the concession stand?
And the hot dogs. Are they those stupid little red ones with no taste or do you offer Nathans or Hebrew Nationals? Slaw? Chili? Onions?

There is a good chance any team that has made it to this point has some speed.
They don’t boast and thump their chest like other posters(that don’t play the game) or say they hit harder run faster and are tougher. If that makes them boring so be it. I think the Kidd is hilarious and the others are informative all three or four of them. Games are to be played before picking the finals.

Awesome, awesome defensive stand in those last couple of minutes!! Especially after that ridiculous fumble (Cats....don't ever do that again.) ER also did a good, good job defending two-point conversions.
Magnificent games from Ervodd Cassidy and Pierce Leonard. Cassidy ran for three touchdowns (including the winning touchdown up the gut). Cassidy had some nice, nice runs. Leonard made a plethora of touchdown-saving tackles last night. I can't get over how well Leonard has played the last two games. He's basically been an afterthought all season.
It was great seeing Julian Brooks and Jani Norwood on the defensive line. Both of those guys got into the R'ville backfield and made some timely plays.
Awesome kickoff return by DJ Thomas in the second quarter! Just as awesome was the blocking by ER once Thomas reached midfield. That was a thing of beauty.
Speaking of awesome, Stratton Barwick's improvised throw to complete the two-point conversion was the bee's knees.
Despite all this, the secret MVP of tonight's game might have been punter AJ Randall. Randall has been more than adequate filling in for starting punter Devonte Brooks. That guy had some great, great punts.
Only thing I didn't like about ER's performance last night was the fumble and the way they started the second half. That first drive was embarrassing. Looked like a "walk-through".

Sorry man, my emotions got the best of me at the game..Just hated we got beat, we played our hearts out, We were definitely the better team. My apologies, you are correct.

See Chute has made those posts after almost every game all year. Recognizes players from both teams who did well as well as unsung guys. Always very thorough.
But apparently I’m the only one who reads them because nobody knows anything about ER 🤷♂️
Make no mistake though......"Big Mo" was wearing a Heritage hat going into the third quarter. ER got the ball to start the second half but Heritage stopped them inside their own 20.
What will come back to haunt Heritage is the two off-side penalties on ER''s next drive. This put the ball inside the Heritage 20. A few plays later, Lucas Smith took the handoff and bulldozed his way up the middle to give the Cats a 21-12 lead. From that point forward, "Mo" never took off the ER hat.

KW I don’t know what you’re looking for or anyone else that wants to know about the team. There’s no question last years team was loaded with more talent and athletes. If you asked me which one I thought would be more successful I’d have said last years team had way more potential. But somehow they have come together and plugged in replacements and managed to survive. As a team they seem to have had what it takes so far to just weather the storm and persevere. Sometimes that’s more dangerous than a team full of athletes. They also have a pretty decent coach that’s been around the block for a while.
On paper Mt Airy shouldnt have any problem but that’s why we play the games right? Never know what can happen with moody testosterone laden teenagers or what’s on their mind any given moment. It’s not a team of track stars or d1 athletes but they just keep plodding along. I don’t think there’s any one single player that’s going to burn you or dominate the game that you need to scheme for. That’s the honest answer to the question.

Appreciate the info msg. I obviously didn't see write ups after games. Everytime I click on er thread I see jokes about being at the beach, round about, flat lands, getting the s**ts from China buffet, and I honestly don't want to keep reading after the first 3 pages of those posts lol. It wasn't just me...a lot of people have said they are the best team nobody knows about lol

They should have their two injured players back this Friday night. From what I understand they are what makes them the #1 team in the west vs the team that we’ve seen play Mountain Heritage and robbinsville . Someone correct me if I’m wrong

Mt Airy supporters are any of the jv players getting any playing time in the playoffs. Any injuries to speak of.
Subs have been playing a lot in second half. Majority of the second half. Dont know of any injuries at this time.
