What's everyone's predictions for the conference???

I assume Maiden is probably the front runner. I'm not sure what transfers they got this year 😂 but probably would have been up top without their new pickups. Not sure about upfront but their skill guys are talented.

Who is 2nd? I'm not too sure who all is returning.
Newton, Bunker, West Lincoln.

East Burke, Bandys, Lincolnton, West Caldwell

Maiden should win the conference hands down. I think West Lincoln, Bunker Hill and Newton will battle it out for second. I think Lincolnton, Bandys, West Caldwell and East Burke fight their way out of the bottom.
Maiden -1

Bunker Hill -3
Newton -4
Lincolnton-5
East Burke-6
Bandys-7

Flyrod throwing darts! 😂 I ain’t touching that one! I stay out of other families’ affairs….I have enough going on with my own!😁

It appears that most of the teams have a lot of returning players.
Based on the rosters….West Lincoln and Bunker Hill have lost the most!
Lincolnton only lost a few.
The rest of us are somewhere in the middle.

I still believe that West Lincoln will be there…regardless of turnover! Playoffs or bust… is the expectation over at Cat Square now!

I think Bandys is gonna make some noise. They should’ve beat East Lincoln in the spring…I was there….and frankly…handed us a win as well!

Newton is a head scratcher! They always look the part…and yet…it doesn’t materialize. Hoping this fall is different!… we need them.

Lincolnton will win games in this conference… I truly believe that. Hoping that young crossbow QB is coming back.

Bunker, East Burke, West Caldwell….don’t want any of these old Fork teams!😂😂😂 I say that in jest…trying to fire them up!…we need them too!

Anybody know who bunker hill is scrimmaging or 7on7 with ?
 
Don’t sleep on East Burke! They return their RB and all lineman. Most importantly they have a coach. Not saying they’re winning conference, but they won’t be an easy out.

Speed is the issue for East Burke. I think games like WL, Bandys , West Caldwell , maybe Bunker Hill but they gotten better tho.

Newton , Lincolnton , Maiden could be decent games and all but I don’t know if EB can handle athleticism

I can see maybe 5-6 win season for EB depending on their non conference wins

Loving this!…we open conference play against East Burke. I have family and friends from over there…..the tailgating is gonna be special! I have a special place in my heart for your team….you know…oh Tommy Brown took ‘em to the 3rd round….hoping your new coach can do the same!
I can’t wait to see RB Fulbright and that returning line!…..tough hard nosed running teams give the Boom Devils fits! I know it’s going to be a great game, great atmosphere, good times! Can’t wait!

Maiden is young and not very deep!….as usual…..a gaggle of rising juniors!

Offensively….You’ll see much the same with senior QB Rhodes slinging the ball to Culliver, Bass, Sigmon and Gibbs.

Defensively…..it’s Mcclough, Lefevers, Hensley and Wright in the interior along with all those skill players in the secondary.

Our kicker is a rising Jr. as well…Carson Foard…. I’m excited about him…. He did very well last season.

offensive and defensive fronts will be the main concern for my Maiden boys!
We will see! Can’t wait!😁

Any of you local boys know who Bandys is playing non-conference?
I see St. Stephen’s and South Caldwell on Max Preps….who else?
I’m assuming it’s going to be Fred T Foard.

I believe Maiden wins the conference. We have so much speed...more than last year...I just wish we were wider. Lots of height and speed and decent strength, just no true weight. Line will be our weakest link again, but we'll still be too fast for most. Time will tell with our scrimmages upcoming. Polk County at PC first, the West Forsyth at Mooresville next.

What date will Maiden be at Polk County?

6 pm at Polk….and yes….Kings Mtn. will be there. Hoping to go to this one……get some intel on Polk….for my Newton Conover boys. 😁 …wanna see that RB Angus Weaver too!
Interested to see Kings Mtn. as well…..since they play the Shelby boys week one!
Can’t do Mooresville though!….I’m committed….slinging hamburgers and hotdogs at the last “Live after Five” event in downtown Maiden on the 13th. Hoping the Mooresville fellers share their opinion on how Maiden looks against West Forsyth.

Any updates or thoughts on scrimmages? My church has had VBS this week so I've been busy with the youngins. I missed Maiden vs Alexander C tonight. Will be there on Friday at Mooresville though.

My dad watched the scrimmage with Chase, Forestview, Newton, and Freedom. Said Chase whipped them all pretty good. Said Newton was a little undersized compared to recent years.

Bandys or Bunker Hill . Bandys has Saint won two games last year , Foard is Foard and South Caldwell has a new coach .

VBS with the kids! That’s good stuff! Grizz!

Maiden vs Alexander Central…. I was there…..AC has a good looking team…they’re big, physical…. And I was shocked at the number of players…..they had bunches!….to our few! I was also impressed with their coaches….very vocal!…engaged!….full of spirit! I think AC will do well this year….watch out for #3! He is a lanky WR that catches everything….reminded me of Fred Biletnikoff!😂….that one is for the old timers!

Maiden…..our skill players will match up with anybody! QB Rhodes gets an A plus! His accuracy was spot on!….opening set….a bomb to #3, a bomb to #1, a bomb to #2…all complete for TD! The Boom Devils can pitch and catch! Grizzly! They’ll do well in the defensive secondary too!

I was encouraged by the chippiness of our lineman….they were certainly smaller than AC….but I saw some fire! Hope to see that continue! We do have a freshman lineman that’s as big as a tree! We got to find out who that is……take some groceries over there!😁 Good Lord!…he is huge!

All in all….Maiden scrimmaged very well!

Maiden at Mooresville tonight. Will be in scrimmage with 4A West Forsyth. Idk yet who Mooresville will scrimmage....Lake Norman?

Eye test says their average player has about 30lbs at least on us and they have about 15 to 20 more kids. We look like a jv team. This should be a great test in managing our emotion and measuring heart.

6 plays and a score for Maiden. 3 runs 3 passes. 3yd corner lob to Culliver who mosses their CB. Passing is king here. On target throws.

Next possession was 3 plays and a score. 1 run 1 pass then a 17 yd QB scramble up the middle for a TD.

Next possession opens up with a 44 yd bomb with a jump ball catch to Ben Gibbs.

This ends our offensive possesion.

WF offensive line dwarfs us. They're driving on us as they wish. But little chunks at a time. They scored twice on their 10 plays.

Our offense moved pretty well on their second possession. We scored once on our 10 plays. Our second defensive possession was a bunch of subs. They played well enough.

Offense came back out. 1 play 1 score. Corner route to Bass. Our XP attempt was good.

1st D is back out = PBU. LOS stuff. 8yd pass give up right. 6yd broken play run. Loss of 6 on a stuffed reverse. 5yd loss on a dropped snap. 12 yd scramble left, recievers covered. 4th down kick from 40 yds was good.

Offense back out. Some backups in. 6yd run. 3yd scramble left. Int to the right. Reciever never turned around...looks like he didn't know the play.

Scrimmage over.
